Synthesis of Poly(trimethylene terephthalate) Using an Organic Titanium Compound as a Catalyst (유기티타늄을 촉매로 한 폴리트리메틸렌테레프탈레이트 합성에 관한 연구)

  • The synthesis of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT), whose application is being expanded very rapidly to new apparel and carpet materials, was investigated by melt condensation polymerization using 1,3-propanediol (PDO) and terephthalic acid (TPA). No catalyst was used in the 1st step reaction (esterification), but tetrabutyl titanate(TBT) was used as a polyesterification catalyst ranging from 25 to 75 ppm based on the weight of TPA used in the 2nd step reaction (polyesterification). The molar ratio of PDO to TPA was set as 2.2:1. The effect of reaction conditions on the color and intrinsic viscosity of the final product was investigated. (omitted)

  • 제 7차 교육과정부터 규칙성 영역의 학습이 도입되고 중요하게 다뤄지고 있지만, 학생들이 규칙성을 찾거나 도형 패턴을 나타내는 데 어려움을 겪고 있기 때문에, 본 논문에서는 규칙성을 LOGO 프로그래밍 언어를 통해 학습하고 그 효과를 분석하였다. 수학적 패턴의 유형은 생성방식에 따라서 (1) 반복패턴, (2) 대칭패턴, (3) 증가패턴, (4) 회전패턴, (5) 혼합패턴의 다섯 가지이다. 논 논문에서는 규칙성 영역에 대한 LOGO 수업의 효과를 분석하기 위해서, 각각 패턴에 대하여 평가 문항을 만든 후 수업전과 LOGO를 통한 수업 후에 평가를 실시하여 분석하였다. 사전평가 M 4.74에서 LOGO 수업을 실시 한 후에 평가에서 M 5.22로 LOGO 수업의 효과가 유의미(p<.05, p=0.016)하게 나타났다. 특히, 도형패턴에서 높은 향상도를 나타냈다.

TIDAL EVOLUTION OF GLOBULAR CLUSTERS: THE EFFECTS OF GALACTIC TIDAL FIELD, DIFFUSION AND BLACK HOLES

  • We investigate the dynamical evolution of globular clusters under the diffusion, the Galactic tide, and the presence of halo black holes. We compare the results with our previous work which considers the diffusion processes and the Galactic tide. We find the followings: (1) The black holes contribute the expansion of the outer part of the cluster. (2) There is no evidence for dependence on the orbital phase of the cluster as in our previous work. (3) The models of linear and Gaussian velocity distribution for the halo black holes do not show any significant differences in all cases. (4) The perturbation of black holes reduces the number of stars in lower energy regions. (5) There is a significant number of stars with retrograde orbits beyond the cutoff radius especially in the case of diffusion and the perturbation of black holes.

  • The adsorption kinetics of ${\beta}$-casein on a hydrophobic surface has been studied by means of the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). The self assembled monolayer of 1-octadecanethiol on a gold coated quartz crystal was used as a hydrophobic surface for adsorption. The adsorption kinetics was monitored in different solution conditions. Formation of monolayer is observed in most cases. At high concentration of protein, micelle formation which is interrupted by high ionic strength of solution is observed. Casein binding cations such as $Ca^{2+},\;Ba^{2+}\;and\;Al^{3+}$ increase the hydrophobicity of the protein and the multiple layer adsorption occurs. The strong and weak points of the QCM method in the study of protein adsorption are discussed.

CALCULATION METHODS OF SOLAR ATMOSPHERIC MODEL (태양대기모델 계산법)

  • We have investigated the numerical methods to calculate model atmosphere for the analysis of spectral lines emitted from the sun and stars. Basic equations used in our calculations are radiative transfer, statistical equilibrium and charge-particle conservations. Transfer equation has been solved to get emitting spectral line profile as an initial value problem using Adams-Bashforth-Moulton method with accuracy as high as 12th order. And we have calculated above non linear differential equations simultaneously as a boundary value problem by finite difference method of 3 points approximation through Feautrier elimination scheme. It is found that all computing programs coded by above numerical methods work successfully for our model atmosphere.

Thin Film Adhesion and Cutting Performance in Diamond-Coated Carbide Tools

  • The effects of surface conditions of the C-2 cemented carbide substrate on the adhesion of diamond film were investigated. The substrates were pretreated for different times with Murakami's reagent and then the acid solution of an H2SO4-H2O2. The adhesion strength was estimated by a peeling area around the Rockwell-A indentation. The cutting performance of the diamond-coated tools was evaluated by measuring flank wears in dry turning of Al-17% Si alloy. The morphology of deposited diamond crystallites was dominated by (111) and (220) surfaces with a cubooctahedral shape. The diamond film quality was hardly affected by the surface conditions of the substrate. The variation of tool life with longer substrate etching times resulted from a compromies between the increase of film adhesion at the interface and the decrease of toughness at the substrate surface. The coated tools were mainly deteriorated by chipping and flaking of the diamond film form a lock of adhesion strength, differently from the wear phenomena of PCD tools.

  • poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT) was synthesized via condensation polymerization using different molar ratios of 1,3-propane diol (PDO)/terephthalic acid (TPA) in the presence of tetraisopropyl titanate (TiPT) as a polyesterifi-cation catalyst. The effect of reaction conditions on the characteristics of as-polymerized PTT was investigated.

An Analysis of Duration of Occlusal Sounds in TMD Patients (측두하악장애 화낮의 교합음 지속시간에 관한 분석)

  • The author has measured the duration of occlusal sounds during centric occlusal tapping in 30 patients with TMD and 30 normal subjects as controls, and then correlated the duration of occlusal sounds with CMI, amount of centric slide, midline deviation, habitual side of mastication, and presence of occlusal interference. The results were as follows 1. The duration of occlusal sounds during centric occlusal tapping were 36.26 msec in TMD patients and 22.8 msec in normal subjects (p<0.01). 2. The correlation between duration of occlusal sounds and CMI was significant (p<0.01). 3. The correlations between duration of occlusal sounds with amount of centric slide, midline deviation, habitual side of mastication, and presence of occlusal interference were not significant (p<0.05).

  • 이 연구의 목적은 월경주기에 따른 동통역치와 미각역치의 변화를 평가하고자 하는 것이다. 안면부에 동통성 질환이 없고 정상 월경 주기를 가진 건강한 20대 여성 11명이 이 연구에 참여하였다. 2회의 연속적인 월경주기 동안, 월경기(menstrual phase), 여포기(follicular phase), 황체기(luteal phase)의 세 시기에서 압력통각역치, 전기미각역치, NaCl 미각역치를 각각 측정하였다. 각 역치를 월경주기의 시기별로 비교 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 압력통각역치와 전기미각역치는 월경주기의 시기에 따라 유의한 차이를 나타내었고, 황체기에서 월경기에서와 비교하여 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 역치를 나타내었다. NaCl 미각역치는 월경주기에서 통계적으로 유의한 변화를 나타내지 않았다.

Room temperature operating nitrogen dioxide sensor based tellurium thin films (Te를 이용한 상온 동작형 NO2 센서 제작 및 감응 특성)

  • The characteristic of tellurium thin films was studied for detecting nitrogen dioxide gas at room temperature. The film was deposited on $Al_{2}O_{3}$ substrate by using thermal evaporator. The subsequent process was heat treatment by several conditions. (temperature, flowed gases) Surface and grain boundary was investigated using SEM. The results showed that resistance of the tellurium film decreases reversibly in the presence of nitrogen dioxide. The sensitivity of this device depends on the gas concentration and detect lower concentrations less than 10 ppm.
