Influence of parents' parenting values and beliefs on preschoolers' problem behaviors (부모의 양육가치와 양육신념이 유아의 행동문제에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify that parents' values and beliefs in bringing up their children deeply relate to their children's problem behaviors, The subjects are 267 preschoolers attending kindergarten in Daegue area, Statistical techniques are Two Way ANOVA, Scheffe' test, Pearson's Correlation and Regression, The results of this study are as follows: (1) Problem behaviors of preschoolers are significantly related to parents' values, Preschoolers whose parents have a higher level of values have a lower level of problem behaviors. (2) Problem behaviors of preschoolers are significantly related to parents' beliefs, Preschoolers whose parents have a higher level of beliefs have a higher level of problem behaviors. (3) The Multiple Regression analysis shows that parents' parenting values and beliefs are crucially predictive of preschoolers' problem behaviors. Especially, parents' parenting beliefs is more relevant to preschoolers' problem behaviors than parents' parenting values is.

The Moderating Effects of Retailers' Green Practices upon Customer Environmental Values and Organic Food Purchasing Intention

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to understand how retailers' green practices influence customer environmental values and their organic food purchasing intention. Research design, data, and methodology - Data were collected from randomly intercepting retail shoppers (n=719) departing from 33 retail stores selling organic food products located in Florida, USA. U.S. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, CFA and Hierarchical regression analyses. Results - Results documented that customer environmental values (social-altruistic values and biospheric values) were determinants of organic food purchasing intention. Retailers' green practices representing'green self-governance'were found to significantly enhance the effects of customer environmental values upon organic food purchasing intention. Conclusions - This study successfully demonstrated that customers'willingness to purchase eco-friendly products can be greatly increased when having a positive perceptions toward retailers'green practices such as environmental friendly waste management, environmental improvement of packaging, taking back packaging and recovery of the company's end-of-life products.

Teachers' Values about Teaching Mathematics in Classrooms, Implementing Lesson Study and Open Approach: a Thai Experience

  • The aim of this study was to explore teachers' values about teaching mathematics in the classrooms which implemented Lesson Study and Open Approach as a teaching approach. The targeted group was 83 school teachers from 4 schools participating in a teacher professional development project. The data was gathered through teacher questionnaires, lesson observations and interviews. Data analysis is based on Bishop's (1988; 2003; 2007) and Komin's (1990) frameworks. The results from the implementation of Lesson Study and Open Approach in Thai classroom found the different of the roles and behaviors of teachers and students in classroom. The results revealed 3 kinds of values about teaching: Mathematical values, General educational values, Mathematics educational values and also found that most of the teachers valued problem solving as an innovative teaching approach as against traditional approaches they were familiar with.

University Student Characteristics of Type of Job Values and Key Competency

  • This study is aimed to determine types of job values which is searched by 242 university student in Gwangju, to study characteristics of each type, and to analyze key competency of each type. The data were analyed with PASW 18.0 using frequency analysis, k-mean cluster analysis, crosstabs and one-way ANOVA. According to findings, first of all, university student types of job values are divided into 4 groups; a type of intrinsic job values(27.7%), a type of active job value(32.2%), a type of external job value(12.4%), a type of passive job value(27.7%). Secondly, the type of job values showed statistically significant difference only in the monthly allowance of socio-economic variables. Thirdly, the type of job values showed statistically significant difference 'communication', 'mathematics', 'problem solving', 'self development', 'resource management', 'interpersonal skills', 'technical ability', 'understanding organizations' and 'work ethics'.

  • Background: Health, safety, and well-being (HSW) at work represent important values in themselves. It seems, however, that other values can contribute to HSW. This is to some extent reflected in the scientific literature in the attention paid to values like trust or justice. However, an overview of what values are important for HSW was not available. Our central research question was: what organizational values are supportive of health, safety, and well-being at work? Methods: The literature was explored via the snowball approach to identify values and value-laden factors that support HSW. Twenty-nine factors were identified as relevant, including synonyms. In the next step, these were clustered around seven core values. Finally, these core values were structured into three main clusters. Results: The first value cluster is characterized by a positive attitude toward people and their "being"; it comprises the core values of interconnectedness, participation, and trust. The second value cluster is relevant for the organizational and individual "doing", for actions planned or undertaken, and comprises justice and responsibility. The third value cluster is relevant for "becoming" and is characterized by the alignment of personal and organizational development; it comprises the values of growth and resilience. Conclusion: The three clusters of core values identified can be regarded as "basic value assumptions" that underlie both organizational culture and prevention culture. The core values identified form a natural and perhaps necessary aspect of a prevention culture, complementary to the focus on rational and informed behavior when dealing with HSW risks.

Development of Calorific Values and Carbon Emission Factors for Petroleum Energy in Korea from 2012 to 2013 (2012~2013년 국내 석유계 에너지원의 열량 및 탄소배출계수 개발)

  • Country-specific data for net calorific values and carbon emission factors requires for a higher tier estimate of greenhouse gas emissions in the energy sector. The objective of this study is to develop country-specific net calorific values and carbon emission factors for petroleum energy produced in Korea. Calorific values and carbon contents of the fuels were measured using the oxygen bomb calorimeter method and the CHN elemental analysis method, respectively. Sulfur and hydrogen contents, which were used to calculate the net calorific value, were also measured and then net calorific values and carbon emission factors were determined based on the measurement results. The net calorific values and carbon emission factors determined for the petroleum produced in Korea 2012 and 2013 were compared to those in the 2006 IPCC Guidelines. Most of the values were different compared with the default values of the 2006 IPCC Guidelines although those were placed within their upper and lower limits. Time series analysis results showed inconsistent seasonal variation for the net calorific values and carbon emission factors.

  • In this study, the effect of microwave which can increase temperature rapidly on polyester alkaline dyeing was investigated. The final K/S values of polyester fabrics dyed by microwave lower than those of atmospheric dyeing because of the evaporation loss of dyeing solution. If the dyeing time makes longer as much as that in atmospheric dyeing, the K/S values of polyester fabrics dyed under microwave were similar to those of atmospheric dyeing. The K/S values of polyester fabrics dyed in pH 9.5 were higher than those in pH 5.5 in case of aliphatic carriers. The K/S values of organic reagent pretreated polyester fabrics dyed by use of aromatic carriers were not higher than those of non-treated polyester fabrics. But the K/S values of polyester fabrics dyed by use of aliphatic carriers were higher than those of non-treated polyester fabrics. The tensile strength were decreased with increasing of dyebath pH because the polyester fabrics were easily decomposed by high alkali.

  • The most effective way to improve the performance of a fuzzy controller may be to optimize look-up values. Look-up values are derived from processes used input-output scale factors, membership functions, rule base, fuzzy inference method and defuzzification. It is powerful way to modify or organize look-up table values. In this paper, We propose the look-up values self-organizing fuzzy controller(LSOFC). We use the plus-minus tuning method(PMTM), scanning values through the processes of addition and subtraction. We show the efficiency of this LSOFC by the results of simulation for nonlinear time-varying plant with unmodelled dynamics.

  • The validity of the Kinesiegraph (MHG-5R) output was studied using a non-ferromagnetic positioning device within working range of a 3 cm wide by 4 cm deep by 5 cm high three dimensional lattice. To determine how well observed values of the M K G outputs may predict case values of actual measurements, relationships between those values were tested by viewing scatter plots and correlation between observed values and actual values. In order to devise some form of served values of the M k G outputs (volts), statistical regression analysis was performed. The statistical analysis showed that observed values and actual values were strongly correlated. However, high correlation does not necessarily mean perfect predictability of given linear models. The formulated models were not able to predict all of acutal values this is partly 엳 새the discreteness of dependent variables (actual values) and also is because of independent nature of observed values. In conclusion, unless the Kinesiograph is suitably modified, the inherent nonlinearity characteristic of the system output limits its application to the measurement of a limited range of jaw movements.

Assessment of Bandsharing Values in RAPD-PCR Analysis of Dwarf Cattle of Kerala

  • Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD-PCR) analysis of 56 animals of four different genetic groups of dwarf cattle in Kerala was done as a single step analysis. Bandsharing (BS) values were calculated for animals of each group and between groups as an analytical tool to find out genetic variation among animals. The different factors affecting BS values were estimated using Harvey''s Least squares analysis. The effects of genetic group, Guanine-cytosine (GC) content of primer and gel on BS values were found significant. Bandsharing values of Kasargode-Highrange dwarf animals were significantly different from Vechur, Vatakara and their combinations. The Vechur, Vatakara and Vechur-Vatakara combinations were found to be more uniform (high BS value) compared with other combinations. The bandsharing value was lowest with primers of GC content 90% and highest with 80% GC content. The effect of gel on BS value points to the need of adjustments of gel factor for calculation of BS values.
