  • We study the routing problem in all-wireless networks based on cooperative transmissions. We model the minimum-energy cooperative path (MECP) problem and prove that this problem is NP-complete. We hence design an approximation algorithm called cooperative shortest path (CSP) algorithm that uses Dijkstra's algorithm as the basic building block and utilizes cooperative transmissions in the relaxation procedure. Compared with traditional non-cooperative shortest path algorithms, the CSP algorithm can achieve a higher energy saving and better balanced energy consumption among network nodes, especially when the network is in large scale. The nice features lead to a unique, scalable routing scheme that changes the high network density from the curse of congestion to the blessing of cooperative transmissions.

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented path search system using GPS information in photo. The system extracts EXIF information included in a photo to get path information and performs path search by applying the shortest path algorithm with the use of GPS information out of information, which was extracted in this way. And then it shows the obtained path information on web by utilizing Yahoo Map API. For this, the system is designed using a method of extracting location information in a photo and path sorting through applying the shortest path algorithm. UI(User Interface) was implemented using Yahoo Map API. Based on that, we implemented path search service using photo file that is included GPS information.

  • In the process of ship building, it is known that the maintenance of working period and saving cost are one of the important part during the logistics of blocks transportation. Precise operational planning inside the shipyard plays a big role for a smooth transportation of blocks. But many problems arise in the process of block transportation such as the inevitable road damage during the transportation of the blocks, unpredictable stockyard utilization of the road associated with a particular lot number, addition of unplanned blocks. Therefore, operational plan needs to be re-established frequently in real time for an efficient block management. In order to find the shortest path between lot numbers, there are several representative methods such as Floyd algorithm that has the characteristics of many-to-many mapping, Dijkstra algorithm that has the characteristic of one-to-many mapping, and the A* algorithm which has the one-to-one mapping, but many authors have published without the mutual comparisons of these algorithms. In this study, some appropriate comparison have been reviewed about the advantages and disadvantages of these algorithms in terms of precision and cost analysis of calculating the paths and planning system to operate the transporters. The flexible operating plan is proposed to handle a situation such as damaged path, changing process during block transportation. In addition, an operational algorithm of a vacant transporter is proposed to cover the shortest path in a minimum time considering the situation of transporter rotation for practical use.

  • The recursive circulant network G(N,d) can be widely used in the design and implementation of parallel processing architectures. It consists of N identical nodes, each node is connected through bidirectional, point-to-point communication channels to different neighbors by jumping $d^i$, where $0{\leq}i{\leq}{\lceil}{\log}_dN{\rceil}$ - 1. In this paper, we investigate the routing of a message on $G(2^m,4)$, a special kind of RCN, that is key to the performance of this network. On $G(2^m,4)$ we would like to transmit k packets from a source node to k destination nodes simultaneously along paths on this network, the $i^{th}$ packet will be transmitted along the $i^{th}$ path, where $1{\leq}k{\leq}m-1$, $0{{\leq}}i{{\leq}}m-1$. In order for all packets to arrive at a destination node quickly and securely, we present an $O(m^4)$ routing algorithm on $G(2^m,4)$ for generating a set of one-to-many node-disjoint and nearly shortest paths, where each path is either shortest or nearly shortest and the total length of these paths is nearly minimum since the path is mainly determined by employing the Hungarian method.

  • Recently neural networks leave been proposed as new computational tools for solving constrained optimization problems because of its computational power. In this paper, the shortest path finding algorithm is proposed by rising a Hopfield type neural network. In order to design a Hopfield type neural network, an energy function must be defined at first. To obtain this energy function, the concept of a vector-represented network is introduced to describe the connected path. Through computer simulations, it will be shown that the proposed algorithm works very well in many cases. The local minima problem of a Hopfield type neural network is discussed.

  • The shortest path search algorithm of navigation is generally based on Dijkstra algorithm and considers only the distance using the weight. Dijkstra algorithm based on the distance mainly ought to perform the 'number of nodes 1' and requires a lot of memory, for it is to start from the starting node and to decide the shortest path for all the nodes. Also, it searches only the same identical path in case of any bottleneck due to an accident nearby, since it is based only on the distance, and hence does not have a system that searches the detour road. In order to solve this problem, this paper considers only the travelling time per road (travelling speed * distance), without applying speed criteria (smoothness, slow speed, stagnation and accident control) or road class (express road, national road and provincial road). This provides an advantage of searching the detour, considering the reality that there are differences in time take for the car to travel on different roads with same distance, due to any accident, stagnation, or repair construction. The suggested algorithm proves that it can help us to reach the destination within the shortest time, making a detour from any congested road (outbreak) on providing an information on traveling time continuously(real-time) even though there is an accident in a particular road.

  • We propose a modified version of 'a Lazy Version of Eppstein's k shortest paths Algorithm(LVEA)' which can find the k shortest paths in total time O(m+ n log n+ K log K) in the worst-case. The algorithm we propose, since the Link repeated paths are all eliminated when enumerating k shortest paths, is No link repeated paths algorithm that is suitable in a transportation network.

  • Among many graphs, directed acyclic graph(DAG) attracts many researchers due to its nice property of existence of topological sort. In some classic graph problems, it is known that, if we use the aforementioned property, then much efficient algorithms can be generated. So, in this paper, new algorithm for the all-pairs shortest path problem in a DAG is proposed. While the algorithm performing the iteration, it identifies the set of essential arcs which requires in a shortest path. So, the proposed algorithm has a running time of $O(m^*n+m)$, where m, n and $m^*$ denote the number of arcs, number of node, and the number of essential arcs in a DAG, respectively.

  • A fundamental technology of UGV(Unmanned Ground Vehicle) to perform a given mission with success in various environment is a path planning method which generates a safe and optimal path to the goal. In this paper, we suggest a local path-planning method of UGV based on the binary map using world model data which is gathered from terrain perception sensors. In specially, we present three core algorithms such as shortest path computation algorithm, path optimization algorithm and path smoothing algorithm those are used in the each composition module of LPP component. A simulation is conducted with M&S(Modeling & Simulation) system in order to verify the performance of each core algorithm and the performance of LPP component with scenarios.

  • This paper suggests an algorithm that can shorten the complexity $O(n^2)$ of Dijkstra algorithm that is applied to the shortest path searching in real-time GPS Navigation System into an up-to-date O(n). Dijkstra algorithm manipulates the distance of the minimum length path by visiting all the nodes from the starting node. Hence, it has one disadvantage of not being able to provide the information on the shortest path every second, in a city that consists of sophisticated roads, since it has to execute number of node minus 1. The suggested algorithm, firstly, runs by means of organizing the set of out-neighbourhood nodes at each level of the tree, and root node for departure node. It also uses a method of manipulating the distance of the minimum path of all out-neighborhoods and interior of the out-neighborhoods. On applying the suggested algorithm to two sophisticated graphs consisted of bi-direction and uni-direction, we have succeeded to obtain the distance of the minimum length path, just as same as Dijkstra algorithm. In addition, it has an effect of shortening the time taken 4 times from number of node minus1 to number of level minus 1. The satisfaction of the drivers can be increased by providing the information on shortest path of detour, every second, when occurs any rush hour or any traffic congestion due to car accident, by applying this suggested algorithm to the real-time GPS system.
