The characteristics of cold-pressed sesame oil (CPSO), virgin sesame oil (VSO), commercial heat-press extracted sesame oil (CHPESO) and commercial supercritical fluid extracted sesame oil (CSFESO) were investigated. The total phenolics of CPSO, VSO, CHPESO and CSFESO were 31.27, 68.33, 60.65 and 31.44 mg/100 g, respectively. Their $\gamma$-tocopherol contents were 32.82, 31.66, 29.26 and 26.87 mg/100g, respectively. The sesamol, sesamin, and sesamolin contents of VSO were the highest. The oxidation induction period (4.53 hr) of CPSO was lower than that of VSO, CHPESO and CSFESO (19.90, 16.50, and 12.23 hr, respectively). CPSO was rapidly oxidized during storage at $60^{\circ}C$ in the dark, and its peroxide value (POV) was increased about 14 times. Although there were few differences in electron-donating abilities at low concentrations (below 100 mg%), VSO showed the highest electron-donating abilities at higher concentrations (77.76% at 10,000 mg%). Contents of linolenic acid and oleic acid were $40.35{\sim}43.98$ and $31.59{\sim}33.46\;g$/100 g, respectively. CPSO contained the highest amount of oleic and linoleic acid among the variously extracted sesame oil.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the types and meanings of calligraphy presented in modern fashion design. Calligraphy refers to beautiful handwriting or fine penmanship in the West, and handwriting with brushstrokes in the East. The expression patterns being used at present can be divided into three categories. Legible calligraphy is focused on readability more than embellishment. Decorative calligraphy places its importance on decoration at the expense of practicality. The third type, harmonious calligraphy, pursues decorativeness and legibility at the same time. Each of these types of calligraphy is expressed in modern fashion with its own purpose: calligraphy for conveying emotional messages, calligraphy as a special brand image, and calligraphy as an expression of formativeness. The first, calligraphy for conveying emotional messages, is used with characters that are familiar to the public. Calligraphy of this type delivers messages confined emotionally to the conscious world, harmonizing calligraphy with words, or expressing readability filled with purity and delight. Second, calligraphy as a special brand image refers to transmitting a distinctive brand image from other companies through employment of a design motive or pattern by expressing the brand logos or names of designers. Third, calligraphy as a expression of formativeness has the function of shaping expressions as motives or patterns, avoiding meanings of words or phrases. It can be represented by the abbreviation or modification of words, or arranging words in different shapes, harmonizing the words with the clothing construction and atmosphere of the other images.

In teaching probability and statistics classes, we should increase efforts to develop examples that enhance teaching methodology in delivering more meaningful knowledge to students. Sports is one field that provides a variety of examples and World Cup Soccer events are a treasure house of many interesting problems. Teaching, using examples from this field, is an effective way to enhance the interest of students in probability and statistics because World Cup Soccer is a matter of national interest. In this paper, we have suggested several examples pertaining to counting the number of cases and computing probabilities. These examples are related to many issues such as possible scenarios in the preliminary round, victory points necessary for each participant to advance to the second round, and the issue of grouping teams. Based on a simulation using a statistical model, we have proposed a logical method for computing the probabilities of proceeding to the second round and winning the championship for each participant in the 2010 South Africa World Cup.

This paper reviews the implementation of the STCW 78/95 in the Philippine MET including the effects of the revised 2010 Manila Amendments. It discusses the country's maritime environment and the structures, quality of maritime education in the country and the effects on the maritime human resource. Among the various resolutions adopted at the conference, the standards of training and certifications, and promoting skills and competency will be more emphasized in this report. These will be compared with the existing curriculum mandated by CHED and upgrade STCW trainings advised by MTC for maritime institutions. A brief comparison and analysis with other Asian countries' maritime training shall be offered. The recommendation pinpoints to the weaknesses of the present maritime regimes in certification and evaluation of maritime institutions. It concludes with the need to have mutually acceptable evaluation standards in view of developing a competent human resource for the future.

We suggested an adjusted OPS and weighted adjusted OPS as indices to explain run productivity of teams using the slugging average and adjusted OBP from Korean professional baseball. First, we defined adjusted OBP by modifying currently used OBP. Next, we defined adjusted OPS as the sum of adjusted OBP and slugging average. We also defined weighted adjusted OPS as the weighted average of adjusted OBP and slugging average. Analysis of the data from all games in the regular seasons from 1982~2013 shows that adjusted OPS better explains runs than OPS. For 25 seasons out of 32 seasons, adjusted OPS explains runs better than OPS. Further, weighted adjusted OPS consisting of adjusted OBP (with weight 60%) and slugging average (with weight 40%) gives the best explanation of run productivity. Weighted adjusted OPS has been found to explain run productivity better than weighted OPS proposed in Kim (2012).

Research and development of mineral-resource-related products has progressed with the increased need to develop mineral resources. The DTH hammer is a resultant product. However, owing to particular work conditions of underground drilling, it is difficult to obtain direct data on the DTH hammer. A DTH drill rig requires a significant amount of money and time for actual testing. This thesis aimed to resolve this problem by using CAE. In a previous paper, the structure of the DTH hammer and its movement were analyzed, and a standard model based on simulation was proposed. Then, experimentation and comparison verification were conducted. In this paper, by using an experimental design method, we derived a control factor of the impact force and efficiency of the DTH hammer and attempted to optimize the design. As a result, the impact energy increased by 14.9%, and the efficiency increased by 3.3%.

A new field of e-sports gains the great popularity in Korea as well as abroad. AOS (aeon of strife) genre games are quickly gaining popularity with gamers from all over the world and the game companies hold game competitions. The e-sports broadcasting teams and webzines use a variety of statistical indicators. In this paper, as an AOS genre game, League of Legends game data is used for statistical analysis using the indicators to predict the outcome. We develop new indicators with the factor analysis to improve existing indicators. Also we consider discriminant function, neural network model, and SVM (support vector machine) for make winning forecasting models. As a result, the new position indicators reflect the nature of the role in the game and winning forecasting models show more than 95 percent accuracy.

This study was conducted to examine the inhibitory effects of meso-dihydroguaretic acid (MDGA, 1) and its synthetic derivatives (compound 2 and 3) against NO production. MDGA is a lignan component isolated from the bark of Machilus thunbergii Sieb. et Zucc. We synthesized dimethylated MDGA (2), diacetylated MDGA (3) and compared NO inhibition of two derivatives with that of MDGA (1). MDGA (1) and compound 3 showed suppressive effects against the generation of NO in LPS-activated macrophages. RT-PCR analysis suggested that MDGA (1) and compound 3 inhibited NO production through the suppression of iNOS mRNA expression. From these results, diacetylated MDGA (3) can be used as a pro-drug for MDGA.

We studied indices to explain runs lost for Korean professional baseball teams. Kim and Kim (2014) studied batting indices to explain run productivity of teams; subsequently, we studied fielding indices to explain runs lost. We considered several combined indices made by combining fielding indices closely connected with the runs lost of teams. Data analysis from all games in the regular seasons of 1982~2014 show that weighted WPH (defined as weighted average of WHIP and number of home runs allowed per game) best explain runs lost. Weighted WPH consisting of WHIP (with weight 81%) and number of home runs allowed per game (with weight 19%) was found optimal weighted WPH having correlation coefficient 0.95033 with average runs lost per game. Analysis by chronological periods gave results not much different.

This study aimed to identify the influence of soccer star's human brand on attitude and attachment to the club, providing the importance and implications of brand management of star players in the club. Therefore, a non-face-to-face mobile survey was conducted from January 14 to March 5, 2021, and a total of 348 copies of data were used for the final analysis. Data processing used the SPSS (ver.21.0) program to conduct frequency analysis, internal consistency and exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The main results of this study are as follows. First, the human brand of a soccer star has been shown to influence the attitude of the club in the order of ethicality, attractiveness, and differentiation. Second, the human brand of a soccer star has been shown to influence the attachment of the club in the order of ethicality, attractiveness, and differentiation.
