Open communication with mothers showed a positive relationship with boys' peer pressure, whereas open communication with father showed a negative relationship with boys' peer pressure. The interaction effects of shame and open-communication with fathers and mothers worked differently on peer pressure across gender and age. Interaction effects of shame and open communication with fathers and mothers were significant for boys, but not for girls. Interaction effect of shame and open communication with mothers was significant for children and adolescents.

  • Recently, Communication media have been developed for the underwater communication in underwater environments where the underwater communication failures occur frequently. Although the underwater communication by one medium is not stable due to the influence of the underwater environment, the use of various communication media can complement each other and so this makes the underwater communication more stable. For this reason, this paper proposes approaches to the design and implementation of integrated MAC for complementing individual unstable underwater communications. In addition this paper presents the comparison and analysis on each of the proposed approaches so to be able to provide guidelines to designers and implementers of integrated MAC.

The types of communication of staff nurses showed that the upward communication was $3.12\pm0.56$. the downward communication was $3.56\pm0.42$. the horizontal communication was $2.98\pm0.44$. and the informal communication was $2.59\pm0.49$. It showed that the most frequent communication was the downward communication. 2. In terms of the job satisfaction, there was significant difference according to the length of the period working for one ward (F=5.95, p=0.003), 3. The performance of nursing was significantly different according to the age (F=23.52, p=0.000), the working duration as a nurses (F=21.9, p=0.000), the types of nursing unit (F=5.33, p=0.002), and the working duration in present nursing unit (F=15.87, p=0.000). 4. In terms of communication type, the job satisfaction was associated with quality of the upward communication (F=6.23, p=0.003), the downward communication (F=5.78, p=0.004), and the horizontal communication (F=11.73, p=0.000) There were no association between the types of communication and the performance of nursing. 5. There was a positive correlation between the communication and the job satisfaction. And the downward communication (r=0.398) showed the greatest correlation with the job satisfaction. There was no statistically significant correlation between the communication and the performance of nursing. And the upward communication (r=-0.058) showed a negative, though not significant correlation with performance of nursing. 5. There was a positive correlation between the communication and the job satisfaction. And the downward communication (r=0.398) showed the greatest correlation with the job satisfaction. There was no statistically significant correlation between the communication and the performance of nursing. And the upward communication (r=-0.058) showed a negative. though not significant correlation with performance of nursing. 6. The stepwise multiple regression result showed that the downward communication accounts for $15.8\%$ (p=0,000) of the job satisfaction.

  • Purpose : This study sought to investigate novice nurses' communication education needs in the intensive care unit (ICU) using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) and Borich's need assessment model. This study identified communication challenges in clinical settings to develop a simulation program that enhances communication competencies based on educational requirements. Methods : A descriptive research design and a self-report questionnaire were used. The latter was developed and administered to 121 novice nurses with less than one year of experience in the ICU at various university hospitals in Korea. Data were collected via the online open chatroom from June 24th to July 28th, 2023. The communication education needs were identified using descriptive statistics, t-tests, IPA, and Borich's needs assessment model. Text analysis was used to categorize the participants' communication experience. Results : The results revealed that "communication with physicians," "communication with patients," and "communication with nurse on another shift" domains contained the most substantial educational needs for novice nurses working in the intensive care units. Conclusion : The results provide fundamental data for developing and enhancing customized communication education programs for novice ICU nurses. This valuable information could help ICU nurses and educators improve new nurses' communication skills, which would ultimately contribute to the advancement of nursing education and clinical practice.

  • The purpose of this paper is to give some crisis communication strategies for effective cooperation and coordination among the countries in global society. Based on the theoretical discussions, in this paper, five strategic recommendations toward improving crisis communication are offered as follows; First, it is necessary that a small, dynamic team for global crisis communication function be established among the nearby countries. Second, for understanding the neighboring country's crisis situation, it is needed that the common crisis communication organizations which play an important role of disseminating accurate information and giving the collaborative efforts in each country have to be made. Third, for effective crisis management, an appropriate infrastructure that includes open and effective communication channels among different levels and across organizations must be in place. Fourth, mass communication should fulfill a variety of functions in society and provide information, interpretation of events, and its influence, etc for cooperating and coordinating the crisis management. Fifth, to acquire a correct understanding of the bordering country's crisis and calamities, intercultural education program should be established in the crisis communication system.
