Differences in Perception of Information Security Knowledge and Skills Between Academia and Industry (정보보호 전문인력의 소요 지식 및 기술에 대한 산업체와 교육기관의 관점 비교)

  • With increasing interest in information security, many studies have been conducted on cultivation and management of information security manpower. The widespread application of information security made the activity of information security professionals more diverse. Therefore, it is essential to analyze the knowledge and skills that are necessary for information security professionals to carry out their job and we also need to take these into considerations for the development and operation of education programs. In this study, for analyzing the perception gaps of information security knowledge and skills level between academia and industry, we have derived 58 knowledge and skills by conducting the literature review and Delphi method and we also conducted a survey of information security knowledge and skills requirements for information security professionals who are now working in industries and educational organizations. As a result, we analyze the perception gaps between two groups of information security professionals and suggest some guidelines for establishing the demand-based curriculum for training information security professionals.

  • To reveal secondary teachers' in-service education needs, in-depth interviews were conducted with 15 individual teachers based on semi-structured questions and qualitative data analysis procedures were adopted. They wanted to have; a. more knowledge of one's subject, subject related information, culture and common sense, counseling psychology, foreign language, and the 7th curriculum, b. better skills of student-centered teaching-learning methods, guidance and class management, good use of computers, and educational evaluation, c. improved attitudes regarding democratic problem solution processes, conversation with and service to students from their viewpoints, commitment to preparations for teaching, educational innovation and improvement, elimination of improperness, and pride of teaching job.

Community Child Care Center Workers' Perceptions of Professionalism and Their Job Satisfaction (지역아동센터 종사자의 전문성 인식과 직무만족)

  • This study examines the effects of community child care center workers' perception of professionalism on their job satisfaction. This study conducts a survey of 221 community child care workers in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon provinces in Korea. Results show that the level of perception of professionalism and job satisfaction are over intermediate. The perception on professional values and ethics are slightly higher than the perception on professional knowledge and skills. The workers are more satisfied with intrinsic job factors such as achievement and responsibility than extrinsic job factors such as compensation and working conditions. Regression analysis reveals that the workers' perception of professionalism is positively associated with both intrinsic and extrinsic job satisfaction. Based on the findings, this study provides suggestions to enhance the workers' professionalism and job satisfaction, which will contribute the quality of services in community child care centers.

  • As the importance of national technical qualifications for hairdressers to verify qualifications and skills as a professional is increasing, it is time to improve achievement motivation and job attitudes through research on job attitudes perceived by hair designers toward hair practical tasks. As a result of studying the effect on the job attitude of a hairstylist working in a hair salon, it was found that blow-drying induced the hairstylist's job efficacy among the practical tasks for the hairdresser's hair national technology certification, and scalp scaling and shampoo were the job of the hairstylist. was found to induce satisfaction. Based on the research results, it is possible to present a variety of practical certification tasks with practicality that can be usefully applied to customers in various techniques in the beauty industry, rather than unrealistic practical techniques limited only to wigs. We want to induce improvement. In addition, I believe that this study will provide basic data for the development of various practical tasks to improve the achievement motivation of hair designers.

  • Information Technology (IT) managers play an important role as a bridge between technology and business, and it is therefore important to determine what skills are required for this position. Although many previous studies have investigated the skills necessary for IT managers to perform their roles, most of these studies are based on the data collected from companies in the US. However, given the increased labor mobility in the IT industry, it is important to determine whether IT manager positions elsewhere require the same skills as the positions in the US. This study is a first step in this direction and attempts to determine whether there are any differences in skill requirements between Korean IT managers and American IT managers, and, if so, what they are.

A case study of the education and training for job creation based on the local fashion industry - In Seogu Gwangju central city - (지역산업맞춤형 일자리창출사업을 위한 패션 취·창업 교육훈련 사례연구 - 광주광역시 서구를 중심으로 -)

  • The aim of this study is develop a state-funded education and training curriculum to contribute to the development of the fashion industry infrastructure. This will be achieved based on the service sector by the competitive clothing sales personnel and fashion startups. The study was conducted using a qualitative research method. The participants were 20 representatives of fashion-related companies and employees from one traditional market and two fashion outlets in Seogu, Gwangju. Data was collected from September 2015 to January 2017 by demand surveys and in-depth interviews. These were conducted on the same day at each clothing store office. In addition, existing literature was also reviewed. The collected data were first summarized into 64 meaning units from which three themes were derived by arranging, classifying, and analyzing the data. The findings of the study are as follows. First, the education and training curriculum for fashion job creation is aimed at job-oriented field-types with the objective of cultivating professional skills for online to offline fashion professionals. Second, the curriculum for fashion advisors was developed to consisted of 8 courses of 150 hours, including job knowledge, a foreign language, fashion-specific knowledge, fashion marketing & VMD, store management know-how, clothing repair, field trip, and internship. Third, the curriculum for fashion entrepreneurs consisted of 8 courses of 106 hours, including entrepreneurship, fashion practice, startup, field trip, finance & taxation accounting, marketing, social enterprise course, and internship.

This study aims to provide skating ESP(English for Specific Purposes) education model for skating instructors in Korea. For this purpose, a total of twenty-seven professional skating instructors were surveyed according to a questionnaire, which asked about their English skills and perspective of the importance of English study and English skating class. The main results are as follows: most skating instructors' confidence in their English is low; majority of them answered that English study is needed for skating instructors; a majority of them want English teaching that focused on speaking and teaching activities. After that, skating instructors' jobs were analyzed using the DACUM(Developing A Curriculum Method). A DACUM committee extracted the duties and tasks which require English education and conducted a survey that targeted skating instructors. When interpreting the study on ESP Skating English Education based on job analysis, it was evident that the English language would be essential for enabling effective communication with judges during national sports competitions, information exchange with foreign skaters, and for technical skating instructions. A Plan to Improve Core Job Skills through the Level Management System : Focusing on the X-ray Screening Rating System (수준관리체계를 통한 핵심 직무역량 향상 방안 - 보안검색요원 판독등급제 중심으로 -)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to design a x-ray screening rating system to improve X-ray screening ability, which is a core job competency of security screener at Incheon International Airport, and to verify its effectiveness through empirical analysis to suggest ways to improve the level management system. Methods: In this study, the effectiveness of the research model was analyzed using T-test tests for effect analysis based on the empirical analysis results derived through the competency evaluation model, the screening rating system. Results: The results of this study are as follows. The average score for regular education before the implementation of the x-ray screening rating system was 94.1 points, but after the implementation of the x-ray screening rating system, the average score for regular education was 95.5 points, an average of 1.4 points increased. In addition, the proportion of those with 95 or more points classified as high scorers also increased significantly from 51.1% to 69.3%. Conclusion: The X-ray screening rating system of security inspectors will systematically manage the level of screening ability, which is a key job competency, and play a strong role in improving competency, while preventing security accidents through early identification and intensive training of level-lowers.

Effects of Pre-Employment Efforts of the College Graduate Youth in Korea (대졸 청년층 취업준비노력의 실태와 성과)

  • This study examines the effects of pre-employment efforts of the youth on their transition to the labor market. Labor market performance is accessed by the transitory period, the employment at workplace with more than 300 employees, and the wage level. Based on the effects of employment efforts for the first transitory period, job experience during school and preparatory period for employment would raise the likelihood of employment, but the school credit, grade in English, and the frequency of interviews, on the contrary, failed to reduce the transitory period. Employment effect varied according to educational background. In case of college graduates, vocational education and job experience during school were statistically significant variables leading them to decent jobs. On the other hand, in case of university graduates, job experience and language skills were proven to be important factors. Lastly, for the wage effect, in case of college graduates, vocational training, job experience during school, and English ability were proven to increase the wage level. However, vocational training after graduation and job experience during school decreased the wage level, but grade in English and pre-employment efforts during school increased the possibility of getting a decent, highly paid job for university graduates.

  • National Competency Standards(NCS) development related researches on the semiconductor industry were carried out partially, but the field training demand survey and analysis using that NCS were not done. The past demand survey for the job skill training had focused on personnel shortage and oversupply so it has the problems called skill mismatch. This study has the purpose to provide an alternative analysis of qualitative evaluation using the relative importance and gap of the job skill elements in the semiconductor industry. As research methods, we carried out related literature and report review, and a job skill demand survey on the semiconductor industry. We analyzed about the industry related jobs and job tasks, the qualitative demand for each job skill elements, and procurement methods for each job skills and manpower. We illustrated some related training courses to find out a relevant way for supplying the training programs.
