SBAR-협력적 의사소통 프로그램이 간호사의 의사소통 능력과 간호사-의사 협력에 미치는 효과 (Effect of SBAR-Collaborative Communication Program on the Nurses' Communication skills and the Collaboration between Nurses and Doctors)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate effect of the SBAR-Collaborative Communication Program on nurses'communication skills and on collaboration between nurses and doctors. Methods: From March 11 to November 11, 2013, data were collected from 180 hospital nurses working in a university hospital in Gyeonggi province. Outcomes were measured at three time intervals; before, three and six months after the program was completed. Results: After participating in this program, there was a significant increase in nurses'communication skills but not in collaboration between nurses and doctors. None of the participants' general categories influenced nurses'communication skills at pre-test, but age, education level, total years of working and work department significantly influenced scores at 3 and 6 months. Work department was the only category for which there was a significant difference in collaboration between nurses and doctors at pre-test, and education level and work department were related to significant improvement at 6 months. Conclusion: Findings indicate that this program can improve communication skills for nurses and also, collaboration between nurses and doctors, especially for nurses under 25 years of age. Thus nursing and hospital managers should provide SBAR-Collaborative Communication Programs to new nurses in their job training.

원무과 직원의 서비스 마인드와 기술에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Determinants of Service Mind and Skills of Hospital Employees)

  • The purpose of this study is to find determinants for service mind and skills of hospital employees to seek ways to improve the service level of hospitals. The past studies focused on the perspectives of customers in finding the solutions for service improvement. However, the existing approach failed in delving into the whole picture of service system. The behind operation of service system(e.g., selection and training of employees, support system) needs to be examined to have a balanced solution of service improvement. The personal characteristics, organizational characteristics, and customer experience were considered as the independent variables in predicting service mind and skills. The data collected in this study was gathered through questionnaire survey with 291 employees in five hospitals - from Sept. 10 to Oct. 16 in 2004. The results are as follows. 1. The regression analysis showed that job satisfaction and service commitment of organization were statistically significant in predicting service mind and skills. 2. The hierarchical regression analysis showed that the effect of hospital type on service mind was explained by service commitment of organization.

Utilizing Machine Learning Algorithms for Recruitment Predictions of IT Graduates in the Saudi Labor Market

  • One of the goals of the Saudi Arabia 2030 vision is to ensure full employment of its citizens. Recruitment of graduates depends on the quality of skills that they may have gained during their study. Hence, the quality of education and ensuring that graduates have sufficient knowledge about the in-demand skills of the market are necessary. However, IT graduates are usually not aware of whether they are suitable for recruitment or not. This study builds a prediction model that can be deployed on the web, where users can input variables to generate predictions. Furthermore, it provides data-driven recommendations of the in-demand skills in the Saudi IT labor market to overcome the unemployment problem. Data were collected from two online job portals: LinkedIn and Bayt.com. Three machine learning algorithms, namely, Support Vector Machine, k-Nearest Neighbor, and Naïve Bayes were used to build the model. Furthermore, descriptive and data analysis methods were employed herein to evaluate the existing gap. Results showed that there existed a gap between labor market employers' expectations of Saudi workers and the skills that the workers were equipped with from their educational institutions. Planned collaboration between industry and education providers is required to narrow down this gap.

DACUM 기법을 활용한 간호대학생의 학교현장실습 직무분석 (Job Analysis for Nursing Student in Pre-Service Health Education Teacher Practicum using DACUM Method)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 간호대학생의 초등학교 현장실습에 관한 직무 및 과업을 DACUM 기법을 활용하여 분석하고자 하였다. J도에 소재한 일 간호대학의 보건교사교직과정을 이수하고, 초등학교 현장실습과정을 수행한 간호학과 4학년을 대상으로 DACUM 워크숍을 실시하여 임무, 과업, 과업별 중요도, 난이도, 빈도 등의 직무내용을 분석하였고, 직무에 요구되는 지식, 기술, 태도, 도구, 장래전망과 특성을 도출하였다. 도출된 직무분석 내용은 J시, I시, G시 등의 학교현장전문가 7인과 교육학전공 교수 2인으로부터 내용타당도를 검증받았고, 이를 토대로 본 연구자가 DACUM 차트를 개발하였다. DACUM 차트는 6개 임무와 24개 과업으로 구성되었고, 직무수행에 필요한 지식, 기술, 태도 등이 도출되었다. 연구의 결과로는 초등학교 학교현장실습의 임무 중 건강관리는 가장 중요도가 높은 과업으로 산출되었고, 교수학습능력과 문서작업능력이 실습을 위한 기본적인 기술로 제시되었다. 학교현장에서의 보건교사의 전문성과 역할에 대한 중요도는 증가되므로 보건교육 향상 프로그램 개발을 위한 교육기관의 제도적 노력과 교육환경 개선 등의 뒷받침이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

보험심사간호사의 직무만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Analysis of Influencing Factors that Influence on the Job Satisfaction of Nurses involved in Medical Insurance Reviews)

  • This study aimed to analyze the factors that influence the job satisfaction of nurses involved in medical insurance reviews. The study involved a self-administered questionnaire survey which was conducted with to 297 nurses who were in charge of medical insurance reviews between April 10 and April 28, 2000. The average job satisfaction of the subjects was 3.04. The sub-items of job satisfaction were noted to be high for 'professional status'(3.79) and low for wage (2.46). The job satisfaction of subjects showed statistically significant differences with regard to education, career, and volume of service(p<0.05). The average job stress of subjects was 2.57. The sub-items of job stress included problems pertaining to human relationships problem(2.84), conflicts with doctors at work (2.79), and the burden of excessive workloads(2.79), in that order. Multiple regression analysis demonstrated that job satisfaction was significantly low when the job stress was higher. It also showed that the job satisfaction was significantly high as there was more frequency of judgements and higher education. These results suggest that the job stress of nurses involved in medical insurance reviews has a profound impact on their job satisfaction. Therefore, the efforts should be made to reduce their job stress. It may also be beneficial to reinforce the training with the doctors and nurses in order to improve their communication skills. Disseminating more information about insurance standards may also be considered.

경호비서에게 요구되는 업무능력 분석 (Analysis the job-ability demanded in the security and secretary)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the job of the security and secretary, to offer useful basic data throughout human resources management by withdrawing the ability required from the security and secretary based on the analyzed results. In this regard, this study intended to look into the job of the security and secretary, the necessary ability for the job of the security and secretary. To achieve the research goals, the study selected the research participants, composed of 5 secretaries for security with more than 5-year careers after graduating from a security and secretarial service department in a college and conducted an in-depth interview with them concerning their jobs. The in-depth interview data from the 5 participants was applied with a classification analysis used by Spradley (1980). In order to enhance the dependability and validity of the research, the study held an expert meeting composed of 2 persons with a doctoral degree in securities service studies and 1 person with a master's degree in secretarial information studies, twice. Also, the study drew results concerning the job of the security and secretary and the necessary ability of the job. Though the above process, the following conclusions were drawn; the job of the security and secretary includes the areas of job safety, a housing residence job, a health care job, an interpersonal relationships job, an assistant' s job, document and office works, general affairs, and an education job. The necessary ability for the job of the security and secretary involves martial arts abilities, risk management ability, the strict keeping of secrets, decision-making ability, information processing ability, foreign language proficiency, understanding other cultures, communications skills and office work ability.

전문대여성졸업생의 대학생활과 직장만족도의 관계 연구 (Women College Graduates and Job Satisfaction -Interacting Effects of Job Readiness-)

  • 본 연구는 교육고용패널자료를 활용하여 여성전문대생의 대학생활과 구직활동이 이들의 직장생활에 기여하는 지 검증해 보았다. 여성전문대생의 대학생활에 대한 만족도가 높을수록 직장에 대한 만족도가 높아졌다. 여성전문대생들이 취업 및 창업과 관련된 교육훈련을 이수하게 된다면 직장과 업무에 대한 만족도는 높아지고 있다. 취업준비활동은 또한 여성전문대생의 대학생활만족도 및 대학성적과 유의미하게 상호작용하여 이들의 직장만족도에 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 대학생활만족도가 높은 전문대학여학생들이 영어교육을 이수하면 괜찮은 일자리에 취직하여 직장에 대한 만족도가 높아진다. 전문대학여학생들의 대학성적이 우수하면서 취업 및 창업과 관련된 교육과정을 이수하면 취업 후 기술/교육수준을 고려한 직장만족도가 높아지게 된다. 전문대학교의 현장 중심의 실무교육이 구직활동과 병행되어야 전문대여학생들이 양질의 일자리에 취직되어 높은 직장만족도를 느낄 수 있다. 현 연구는 전문대학여학생의 대학생활에 대한 만족도와 취업준비활동은 이들이 졸업 후 직장생활을 하는 데 중요한 역할을 한다고 입증하였다. 앞으로 한국사회는 전문대학의 교육과정이 현장중심의 실무형으로 구성되어 구직자의 능력을 향상시켜 취직에 도움이 될 수 있도록 보다 많은 노력을 기울어야겠다.

직영 및 위탁 사업체 급식소 영양사에 대한 작업자 지향적 직무분석(제 1 보) : 직무 수행 능력 요건 (An Analysis of Competencies of Dietitians in Self-operated vs. Contracted Employee Foodservice by Worker-oriented Job Analysis Methodology)

  • The job characteristics and competencies of 285 dietitians in employee foodservices were investigated by worker-oriented job analysis methodology. The purposes of this study were to : a) determine the knowledge, abilities, skills and other characteristics(KASO, hereafter) needed for dietitians in two types of employee foodservice groups(self-operated vs. contracted) and b) the analysis of the degree of frequency and importance and entry requirements of KASO items listed below : their degree of frequency, the level of importance and their function as entry requirements. The 134 KASO items would be divided into 12 task categories. The questionnaire was mailed to 250 dietitians who are members of The Korean Dietetic Association Practice Group in self-operated foodservices(hereafter group A) and 250 dietitians who are employed in contracted foodservice companies(hereafter group B). Completed questionnaires were received from 285 dietitians(121 in self-operated, 164 in contracted) ; with a response rate of 57%. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS/win and the SAS/win packages. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1) Analysis of the degree of frequency, importance and entry requirements of 134 KASO items in group A showed a high priority(score〉4.0) placed on 14 items in relation to dietetic tasks and 9 items in relation to human attributes, whereas in group B 19 items in relation to dietetic tasks and 11 items in relation to human attributes. 2) Comparing responses about the KASO items in the 12 task categories, there was a significant difference between the two sample groups with regard to degree of frequency : group A scored 3.29, group B scored 3.50(p〈0.01). With regard to importance of KASO items in 12 task categories, group A scored 3.78 and group B scored 3.88 showing no significant differences. With to entry requirements of KASO items in 12 task categories, group A scored 3.29 and group B scored 3.46 showing a significant difference(p〈0.05). 작업치료사의 임상 경력에 따른 작업치료직무 중요도에 관한 조사 (A Survey on the Job Importance of Occupational Therapists According to Length of Clinical Career)

  • Purpose : This study examined the differences in occupational therapists' jobs depending on their past clinical careers using a survey of the importance of occupational therapy tasks in South Korea. This survey sought to provide fundamental data for strengthening occupational therapists' capacities and developing clinical training programs for therapists' future careers. Methods : An online survey was used to collect data from 93 South Korean occupational therapists. The subjects were divided into three groups for the analysis of the importance of occupational therapy tasks, depending on the length of their clinical careers: less than 3 years, from 4 to 6 years, and over 7 years. Results : A within-groups comparison of task importance found that "occupational therapy evaluation" was most important in all three groups. In between-groups comparisons, "patient information check", "assessment planning and establishment", "sensory function assessment", "social skills assessment", "developmental function improvement", "basic daily activities training", "social skills improvement", and "patient education" demonstrated statistically significant differences (p<.05). Each group showed different priorities. In the less-than-3-years group, "understanding of patient's needs" was most important, followed by "arm function improvement", "arm function assessment", "nerve, musculoskeletal, and motor-related functional improvement", and "basic daily activities training". In the 4-to-6-years group, "arm function assessment" was most important, followed by "basic daily activities assessment", "patient's needs", "arm function improvement", and "patient information check". In the over-7-years group, "understanding of patient's needs" was most important, followed by "patient information check", "basic daily activities assessment", "basic daily activities training", and "sensory function assessment". Conclusion : This study found that what occupational therapists consider important in their jobs varies according to their past clinical career and that occupational therapists with more than 7 years' experience are more aware of the importance of diverse fields of occupational therapy. Differentiated education that considers length of career and a range of training programs for more experienced occupational therapists will be needed in the future.

공감리더십과 구조적 임파워먼트 중심의 지지적 업무환경이 간호사 직무만족에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Supportive Work Environment on the Job Satisfaction of Registered Nurses : Resonant Leadership and Structural Empowerment)

  • Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the effects of resonant leadership and structural empowerment on the job satisfaction of registered nurses working in hospitals. Methods : Data were surveyed from 307 nurses in three general hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do using self-administered questionnaires from March 15 to 31, 2016. We conducted t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 21.0 for analysis. Results : Resonant leadership and structural empowerment had significant effect on the job satisfaction of nurses. These two attributes of a quality work environment explained 45.3% and 40.1% of the variance in organizational and opportunity satisfaction while controlling for age, marital status, religion, education, work department, work type, career and work position. Conclusions : The findings of this study suggest that resonant leaders and structural empowerments contribute to nurse job satisfaction. Therefore, developing resonant leadership skills and structural empowerment among nurse leaders in hospitals will ensure the creation of healthy work environments that promote job satisfaction and retention of nurses.
