  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the frequency and duration of primary health practitioners' work, and their job satisfaction, and to confirm differences in work and job satisfaction by type of primary health care post. Methods: Work frequency, duration of work, and job satisfaction were estimated by 371 primary health practitioners. Chi-square test and t-test were used to identify the differences in working patterns and job satisfaction by type of primary health care post. Results: Primary health practitioners were found to spend more time working with the elderly population than with students, pregnant women, children, people with disabilities, and multicultural families. Those in costal areas were more concerned with students than those working inland. In the latter group of practitioners, more time was spent working with patients with chronic diseases, pregnant women, women, children, multicultural families, and mental health clients. Also, the job satisfaction of inland primary health practitioners was significantly higher than that of costal practitioners. Conclusion: It is necessary to identify the characteristics of primary health practitioners' work, focusing on changes in the medical service environment. Furthermore, it is necessary to provide job training according to type of primary health care post, as practitioners' approaches should differ between posts.

  • This study purports to investigate the determinants of propensity to stay among nursing staff working at Korean hospitals. The independent variables contains three groups of determinants: environmental variables(job opportunity, spouse support, and parent support), psychological variables(met expectations, work involvement, positive affectivity, and negative affectivity), and structural variables(job autonomy, work unit control. routinization, supervisor support, coworker support, role ambiguity, role conflict, workload, resource inadequacy, distributive justice, promotional chances. job security, job hazards, and pay). The sample used in this study consisted of 329 nurses and 175 nurse aides from two university hospitals in Seoul and its surburbs. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using path analysis. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the following variables, listed in order of size, have significant positive effects on propensity to stay among hospital nursing staff: job satisfaction, met expectations, supervisor support, job security, and positive affectivity, (2) the following variables, listed in order of size, have significant negative total effects on propensity to stay among hospital nursing staff: job opportunity, negative affectivity, and rutinization, (3) the model explains 44.2 percent of the variance in propensity to stay among nursing staff working at two university hospitals, and (4) managerial support for improving the job autonomy, distributive justice, and promotional opportunity for nurse aides are needed.

  • Mobile grid is a combination of grid computing and mobile computing to build grid systems in a wireless mobile environment. The development of network technology is assisting in realizing mobile grid. Mobile grid based on established grid infrastructures needs effective resource management and reliable job scheduling because mobile grid utilizes not only static grid resources but also dynamic grid resources with mobility. However, mobile devices are considered as unavailable resources in traditional grids. Mobile resources should be integrated into existing grid sites. Therefore, this paper presents a mobile grid middleware interconnecting existing grid infrastructures with mobile resources and a mobile service agent installed on the mobile resources. This paper also proposes a mobile resource reliability-based job scheduling model in order to overcome the unreliability of wireless mobile devices and guarantee stable and reliable job processing. In the proposed job scheduling model, the mobile service agent calculates the mobile resource reliability of each resource by using diverse reliability metrics and predicts it. The mobile grid middleware allocated jobs to mobile resources by predicted mobile resource reliability. We implemented a simulation model that simplifies various functions of the proposed job scheduling model by using the DEVS (Discrete Event System Specification) which is the formalism for modeling and analyzing a general system. We also conducted diverse experiments for performance evaluation. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model can assist in improving the performance of mobile grid in comparison with existing job scheduling models.

Results: The participants' job satisfaction score was 3.01, their work performance score was 3.60, their perceived organization support score was 2.83, and their personal coping resources score was 3.53. The regression model for job satisfaction was significant (F=56.10, p<.001), and the total explanatory power was 52%. The variables affecting job satisfaction were personal coping resources (${\beta}=.44$, p<.001), perceived organization support (${\beta}=.42$, p<.001), and working locations (${\beta}=.13$, p=.028). Conclusion: To increase job satisfaction of infusion nurses, boosting strategies for personal coping resources, perceived organization support, and examination of work performance characteristics of each local area should be considered. In addition, development of customized programs is needed, focusing on infusion nurse personnel and job characteristics.

The questionnaire was composed of a total of 88 questions: general characteristics of participants (12 items), professional autonomy (30 questions), communication competency (15 questions), job satisfaction (30 questions). Data were collected and analyzed using t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Multiple regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 24.0. Results: Job Satisfaction had significant positive correlations with both professional autonomy (r=.18, p<.001) and communication competency (r=.32, p<.001). These variables explained 24.3% of the variance in psychiatric nurses' job satisfaction. Conclusion: Thease findings indicate that professional autonomy and communication competency are important variables influencing job satisfaction for psychiatric nurses. Development and provision of intervention programs to increase professional autonomy and communication competency will help to increase psychiatric nurses' job satisfaction.

Methods : Data were collected through a structured questionnaire disseminated to nurses working in general hospitals. A total of 226 questionnaires were used for the analysis. We analyzed the data using descriptive statistics, an independent t-test, a one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and a stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results : Nurses' job satisfaction showed a significant positive correlation with empathic ability and resilience and a significant negative correlation with workplace bullying. Additionally, resilience, workplace bullying, empathic ability, religion, and the hope of moving to another department were significant factors affecting job satisfaction. The explanatory power of these variables for job satisfaction was 41.0%. Conclusion : To improve job satisfaction, a strategy to lower workplace bullying and increase empathic ability and resilience is necessary. The results of this study suggest the need for further research to develop educational programs for nurses to strengthen their empathic ability and resilience.

  • This study investigated development of Intention to Leave concept or model, by positioning psychological capital and gratitude, and job satisfaction as mediator to Intention to Leave. It is expected that findings contribute to Human Resource Management theories, specifically ones which are related to employee behavior. This study used qualitative approach in which survey and questionnaires were employed during data collection. This study was conducted in PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur located in Bontang, East Kalimantan. PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur was selected as the setting since it has had a lot of achievement. Population was 500 employees of PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur in Bontang, while total samples were 250. This study uses a sampling technique of proportional stratified random sampling. Data analysis methods were descriptive and quantitative. Inferential statistics, namely Generalized Structured Component Analysis (GSCA) were used to confirm model developed based on empirical data. This study showed that there is a significant and positive influence between Psychology Capital (X1) on Job Satisfaction (Y1) and Gratitude (X2) on Job Satisfaction (Y1). Gratitude is the strongest influencing variable on job satisfaction. Meanwhile, a significant but negative effect between Job Satisfaction (Y1) on Intention to Leave (Y2). This means that high job satisfaction will reduce the intention to leave.
