  • A sample of 654 elementary school children(330 boys and 324 girls) and their mothers responded to three questionnaires regarding mother's job satisfaction and parenting behavior and children's problem behavior. Results showed that working mothers perceived themselves as more permissive/neglecting compared with non-working mothers. Children of working mothers perceived themselves as hyperactive, anxious, withdrawn, aggressive, and immature. Parenting of working mothers with higher job satisfaction was more warm/accepting; their daughters perceived themselves as less anxious, withdrawn, and immature than children of mothers with lower job satisfaction. Children of rejecting/restrictive working mothers, especially girls, reported hyperactive, withdrawn, aggressive, and immature behaviors. Children of permissive/neglecting working mothers were immature. Warm/accepting parenting of working mothers played mediating roles between their job satisfaction and maturity of their daughters' behavior.

Research design, data, and methodology - Based on a theory of social network, the concept of social network was assessed by three factors: a) network size, b) network range, and c) tie strength. To test the proposed hypotheses, structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed based on data from 197 travel agency employees in Korea. Result - The results showed that the associational activity of network size had a positive effect on innovation behavior, while the network range of network size had a significant negative effect on innovation behavior. Subsequently, innovation behavior positively influenced on job performance and job satisfaction, respectively. Conclusions - The results offer some insights into the extended model and have important managerial implications for Korean travel agencies. More specifically, considering diverse domains of social network and organizational research, this study advances critical utility of social network factors in a high facilitating level of innovation behavior, which can help travel agency employees promote their job performance and job satisfaction.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting pre-service childcare teachers' job preparation behaviors according to the model of planned behavior theory which has proven useful in predicting various behaviors of human beings, and to provide job search guidance for pre-service childcare teachers in the educational dimension and social welfare dimension. The study model included the factors proposed in the planned behavioral theories such as attitude toward job preparation behavior, subjective norm, perceived behavior control, behavioral intention, and job preparation behaviors. As a result of analyzing the collected data, it was found that there was a statistically significant effect on job preparation behavior through mediation of subjective preparation norms, perceived behavior control, and attitude in that order with regard to job preparation behaviors, and the perceived behavioral control was found to have a direct and indirect effect on job preparation behaviors. Based on this, the theoretical basis for suggesting ways to promote pre-service childcare teachers' job preparation behaviors by raising subjective norms, perceived behavior control, and attitude levels is suggested.

This study explored the effect of career indecision, job search behavior, and employment successes(number of application, number of interview, number of job offer) in longitudinal method. In result, career indecision had negative effect on job search behavior. In other words, the higher career indecision level is, the less job search behavior is performed. Especially, career indecision is connected with preparatory job search behavior and informal job search behavior. Another finding is that job search behavior in time 1 (first semester of college senior) had a strong effect on all of employment success variables in time 2(second semester of college senior). Finally, the theoretical and practical implications of this research were discussed. Based on the limitation of this study, several directions for future research were also suggested.
