Using the Red Pepper in Korean Traditonal Cuisine (우리나라 전통조리에서 고추의 활용)

  • Red pepper have affected traditional cuisines through various ways since they were first introduced in Korea over 400 years. But we on easily determine that red pepper powder and red pepper paste were not used daily dishes until 1940 as we look into traditional cookbooks. Chinese pepper and black pepper were used for hot spices before red pepper was introduced in Korea. It is estimated that red pepper was introduced during the last of 1500s the Japanese invasion of Chosun dynasty, but it was first used to make Sunchang red pepper paste in $\boxDr$Sumunsasul(수문사설)$\boxUl$(1740), and to make Kimchi in $\boxDr$Jeungbo Sanlimkungje(증보 산림경제)$\boxUl$(1766), and it became a general spice for vegetables in the middle of the 1800s. Pepper is mostly used to make Kochujang(red pepper paste), Kimchi, Jutkal(salted flesh) and Jangaji(salited very.) etc as fermentable cuisines. The attribute of using pepper was developed fur fermentable spices, and to give spicy flavor to cuisines. The types of peppers using traditional cuisines are various such as unripened pepper, red pepper, red pepper powder, red pepper paste, and pepper leaves. Traditional dishes with vegetables mostly use red peppers. Fish dishes(soup, stew, bracing, roasting, steaming) also use red peppers. Soup '||'&'||' stew with meat item partly use red pepper but steaming, roasting dishes with meat item not use pepper. roasted pork, pork ribs, steamed chicken of spicy meat cuisines in the 1930s did not use pepper. Kochujangbokkum(고추장볶음) is one of the oldest cuisines for using red pepper paste in the 1800s. Sliced red peppers and red pepper powder are mostly used for garnishing of cuisines.

  • The purpose of this study is to summarize systematically and understand the characteristics of the production process of whole garments in order to develop knitwear using a real whole garment machine and propose this as a development case for high value added knitwear design. Concerning research methods, the study looked at existing research into whole garment knitwear and relevant data, data on websites, and the whole garment knitting machine made by Shima Seiki, a Japanese company, which has been the most commonly used machine in Korea. Also the study collected program data concerning a knitting machine and knitting by participating in the production process of whole garment knitwear, and the production line was filmed directly. In addition, the study conducted research into the development of knitwear design using the SWG-X 12 gauge. The conclusions obtained from the production process of whole garments and product development include the following. First, whole garment knitwear is appropriate for expressing a sophisticated look that makes the body appear to be in one form through natural connection without any seam allowance. Second, it is very suitable for response production since it does not go through the pattern, cutting, and processing stages. Furthermore, because of the consistent management of the entire process by computer control, it may be the highest cutting-edge fashion area in which planning and proposal style industry may be realizable. Third, it is easy to approach design through a programming process, and it is possible to develop diverse patterns; thereby, it is appropriate for producing high value added knitwear products.

  • It can be seen that Traditional house of Jeong Si-yeong is located in a place where Saenggi(good energy), which is important in Pungsu(Feng Shui), can be gathered and that energy can be properly maintained. According to the theory of feng shui, a place that is not easily exposed by the surrounding mountains and is well protected by the strong wind was selected, and the main room was placed on the south side so that the sunlight was adequate while facing the north, so that you can live a comfortable life for a long time. Located on such a relatively well-hidden site, it is a location that can cope well with the invasion of Japanese invaders through the sea in the past, and even today, it is seen as a reasonable base that can be properly protected from strong sea winds in reality. On the other hand, if we look at the Hyungguk theory, it was a house built in the late Joseon Dynasty, and we could see the hidden hopes of the nobles at the time. The mountain behind the house is a haebok-type with a crab lying on the seashore, and what the crab symbolizes is the past national exam for official. Considering that the name of the place where the house is located is also Oyat(cucumber tree)-ri, where many cucumber trees closely related to the royal family of the Joseon Dynasty were planted, it seems that the family wished for prosperity by producing many Sadaebu(upper class gentry) in the past and forming a good relationship with the royal family.

Issues Involving the Relationship between Religion and the Anti-Japanese Independence Movement: A Case Study of Mugeukdo (종교와 항일독립운동, 그리고 쟁점 - 무극도 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • Ever since gaining liberation in 1945, Korean society has constantly recalled memories of Japan's invasion and Korea's anti-Japanese movements for an independent state (AMIS). In the process, a small number of new religious groups were also identified as main subjects within AMIS. However, the logic necessary to connect these religious groups with AMIS was still weak. In order to solve this situation academically, the purpose of this article is to illuminate the activities of Mugeukdo (無極道) and Jo Jeongsan (趙鼎山) through the lens of AMIS and to reflect on the issues that will arise when linking the religion with AMIS. Regarding this purpose, this article analyzed the internal and external data collected by Daesoon Jinrihoe (大巡眞理會) about Jo Jeongsan and Mugeukdo's activities linked to AMIS. Later, this paper presents several tasks for future research on this subject matter. Specifically, according to Chapter II, the AMIS of Jo Jeongsan and Mugeukdo were generally centered on resistance at the family level, Jo Jeongsan's order to participate in the March 1st Movement, and Mugeukdo's industrial activities. In Chapter III, I reviewed the contents of Chapter II using Daesoon Jinrihoe's external materials. According to the results of the review, future research is required to discover and cross-check materials related to the AMIS of Jo Jeongsan and Mugeukdo believers. Likewise, further research is needed to highlight the theory of the enthronement of emperor (天子登極說) and the Great Opening of the later world (後天開闢) in terms of AMIS. These efforts can make contributions that increase the credibility of Daesoon Jinrihoe's internal data on the AMIS of Jo Jeongsan and Mugeukdo and expand the periphery of AMIS as it relates to certain religious groups. Subsequently, in Chapter IV, I present three items for reflecting upon the connection between certain religious groups and AMIS. The first is that criteria for establishing the category of AMIS is necessary to determine whether religious activities can be included. Second, reductionist approaches make it difficult to explain the reasons why some of the people who participated in AMIS did so while forming 'new religious movements,' and why these groups have maintained their religious identity even after liberation was achieved in 1945. Third, it is necessary to distinguish between the primary and the secondary dimensions to elaborate on the connection between these religions and AMIS. This means that researchers should be expected to look at whether the activities in question are based on a religious worldview and whether the goal of the activities is the realization of AMIS or the implementation of some aspect of that religious worldview. In the future, considering the mechanisms that make AMIS memorable in Korea, religious groups and religious studies should take greater interest in discovering and accumulating data that facilitates research on these topics. At the same time, effort should be made to find the basis for AMIS within religious worldviews. It can also be made possible through specific interest in further elaboration on the various AMIS-related activities of Jo Jeongsan and Mugeukdo.

Park Yeol·Kaneko Humiko Case and Performance (박열·가네코 후미코 사건과 퍼포먼스)

  • The aim of this article is to illuminate the Park Yeol(朴烈)·Kaneko Humiko(金子文子) Case from the perspective of performance, by analyzing newspapers published in Colonial Korea. The Park Yeol·Kaneko Humiko Case include the High Treason Incident(大逆事件) case and the mysterious photo(怪寫眞) case that occurred in Tokyo in Imperial Japan from 1923 to 1926. Even though Park Yeol·Kaneko Humiko were individually imprisoned during this period, they proceeded to act shrewdly and preposterously as performers. First, they made the trial itself into an astonishing case by donning traditional Korean clothes and insisting on using the Korean language in Japanese Imperial Court. Second, they caused the judge in charge to accidentally take the so-called 'mysterious photo,' which later led to the collapse of the Japanese cabinet. The newspapers published in Colonial Korea served as unique stage on which Park Yeol and Kaneko Humiko performed. The newspaper articles reported on the public trials as if it were a drama, describing their clothes, look, and dialogue in public court. The news about them was published not as it occurred but in a plotted sequence because of a press ban, consequentially building suspense among readers. Meanwhile, the Korean newspaper editorials pointed out the injustice of the High Treason Incident, breaking down the Japanese judge's opinion. The Park Yeol·Kaneko Humiko Case was a social drama that revealed the disharmony that led to the breakdown of Taisho Democracy and imprinting national resistance in Japan as well as in Korea.

The analysis on Japan's New Maritime Strategy and the Development of its Naval Forces - focusing on Japan's countermeasure to China's pursuing of maritime hegemony - (일본의 신(新) 해양전략과 해상전력 발전 동향 분석 - 중국의 해양패권 추구에 대한 대응을 중심으로 -)

  • Recently, the Japanese government revised the three guidelines of its security policy, the National Security Strategy(NSS), the National Defense Program Outline and Midterm Defense Buildup Plan, exceptionally at one time. This means Japan has been seeking the new strategy and strengthening military power considering changing regional security environment. Moreover, Japan revised the security laws for the right to collective self-defense, which authorized the use of force even when Japan is not under attack. Also, Japan renewed the Guidelines for Japan-U.S. Defense Cooperation in twenty years, and has expanded JSDF's scope of activity to a worldwide level. These changes imply Japan would constantly seek to build military forces focusing on naval forces. Because Japan's naval forces, the JMSDF is the means that allow Japan to use its force at anywhere overseas and expand its roles and missions in international society by the basis of the right to collective self-defense. This research will analyze Japan's new maritime strategy and trend of force development and eventually look for the implication on our maritime security These days, Japan has perceived Chinese rapid increase of naval power and pursuing of maritime hegemony as a grave threat. In response to this, Japan is designing new maritime strategy, which are "remote islands defense and recapture" and proactively develop a new type of naval forces to accomplish this new strategy. The Japan's "remote island defense and recapture strategy" is to harden its defensive posture in Nansei islands which correspond to China's 1st island chain for chinese A2/AD strategy and directly encounter with China and to protect its own dominium and maritime interest while supporting US national strategy in East Asia. Japan continues to build compact, multi-functional ship to accomplish "remote island defense and recapture strategy" and keep strengthening its maritime power projection capability to include build of new amphibious ship, and large, multi-functional ship which can provide effective C2. These changes imply that Japan is shifting its strategy from passive and defensive to proactive and aggressive way and continues to pursue naval buildup.The implication of Japan's new maritime strategy and naval buildup needs to be observed carefully and we need to keep developing naval power required to protect our maritime sovereignty and interest.

A Study on Korean Film Criticism at the Initial Stage - the case of the 1920s and the mid-1930s - (초창기 한국영화비평에 관한 연구 - $1920\sim1930$년대 중반까지를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to look into Korean film criticism that started during Japanese occupation. It's specifically attempted to shed light on the development and significance of Joseon film criticism and on film movement theory as part of the history of Korean early modern film criticism. When kino-drama that could be called the start of Joseon movies was popular, enlightenment-based view of movie was rampant due to the inflow of western civilization and modernistic consciousness. Afterwards, the nature of movie itself drew a lot of attention from contemporary people in the silent picture days, and there appeared a critical trend in pursuit of artistry. Diverse criteria of criticism about reality and representation were presented, and a lot of disputes were eventually stirred up. Thus, criticism started to make a progress. A proletarian film movement theory, the so-called KAPF film campaign that was prevalent from the mid-1920s to the mid-1930s, was one of leading contemporary movie theories and took the lead in critic community. That had a great impact on the entire Joseon film circles. That took a proletarian view of movie, which was based on Bolshevik theory of Popularization and dialectic historical materialism. their criticism made a contribution to providing information on foreign movies and theories and to presenting main principles and multiple alternatives toward film organization and playing.

The Ideal Image and Fashion of the 'New Woman' in Korea in the 1920s and 1930s (1920-30년대 한국의 이상적 '신여성' 이미지와 패션)

  • The term "new woman" (신여성 [Sinyeoseong], 新女性) refers to an idealized image of contemporary women during the so-called modern period in East Asia. In Korea, these "modern girls" were also referred to as modan (毛斷), or "cut-hair", reflecting changes in appearances that rejected the traditional value system in favor of "the new" in everyday life. Although it was used to refer to the perceived educated leaders of this new period, it also had the negative connotation of referring to frivolous women only interested in the latest fashion. The popular discourse on this "new woman" was constantly changing during this early modern period in East Asia, ranging from male-driven women's movements to women-driven liberal and socialist movements. The discourse often included ideals of what constituted female impeccability in women's domestic roles and enlightened views on housekeeping, yet in most cases the "new woman" was also expected to be a good wife and mother as well as a successful career woman. The concept of the "new woman" was also accompanied by an upheaval in women's social roles and their physical boundaries, and resulted in women repositioning themselves in the new society. The new look was a way of constructing their bodies to fit their new roles, and this again was rapidly reproduced in visual media. Newspapers, magazines, and plays had gained immense popularity by this time and provided visual material for the age with covers, advertisements, and illustrations. This research will explore the fashion of the "new woman" through archival resources, specifically magazines published in the 1920s and 1930s. It will investigate how women's appearances and the images they pursued reflected the ideal image of the "new woman." Fashion information providers, trendsetters, and levels of popular acceptance will also be examined in the context of the early stage of the fashion industry in East Asia, including production and distribution. Additionally, as the idea of the "new woman" was a worldwide phenomenon throughout the 19th and early 20th century, the effect of Japanese colonialism on the structure of Korean culture and its role as a cultural mediator will also be considered in how the ideal image of beauty was sought, and whether this was a western, colonial, or national preference.

Online Game Lifestyle in Different Cultural Context: Korea and Japan (문화적 맥락과 온라인 게임 라이프스타일: 한국과 일본의 비교)

  • 본 연구는 온라인 게임공간에서 게이머들이 어떻게 서로 다른 가치관과 행동 패턴을 드러내는지를 확인하고 이를 통해 온라인 게임세계의 문화를 이해하고 분석하기 위해 실시되었다. 전 세계에서 가장 많은 게이머들이 활동하고 있고, 한국과 일본에서 동시에 서비스되고 있는 온라인 게임인 〈리니지〉의 게이머들을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하여 '라이프 스타일' 분석틀을 이용해서 이들이 게임공간에서 보이는 행동을 분류하였다. 글 결과 한국과 일본의 리니지 사용자들에게서 거의 유사한 세 가지 라이프스타일 패턴이 추출되었으며 한국과 일본에서 라이프스타일에 따른 행동 패턴이 일관적으로 나타나고 있음을 확인하였다. 도한 한국과 일본의 문화적 차이는 각 라이프스타일 프로파일의 극단성과 분포비율에 의해 반영되는 것으로 확인되었다. 일본의 탈사회적 게이머는 한국의 그것에 비해 더 극단적인 반면 전체 응답자 중에서 차지하는 비율이 적었고 게임 세계에서의 사회 경제적 위치도 낮았으며 한국에서는 비교적 적은 비율을 차지하던 싱글 플레이어 유형이 일본에서는 가장 많은 비중을 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 일본의 게이머들은 라이프스타일에 상관없이 대부분이 게임 공동체에 가입하는 반면 한국의 게이머들은 라이프스타일에 따라 공동체 참여율이 달랐지만 전체적인 참여율은 일본에 비해 높았다. 이러한 차이는 일본 게임세계에서 공동체 참여는 기본적인 의무인 반면 한국에서는 현실적인 이익과 직결된 활동임을 시사한다. 또한 게임몰입수준은 한국보다 일본의 리니지 게이머들이 높았다. 아시아 각 국에 한국에서 개발한 동일한 온라인 게임이 확산되어 있는 현황을 고려할 때, 온라인 게이머의 라이프스타일 척도는 한국과 일본뿐만 아니라 대만과 중국, 홍콩, 그리고 미국과 같은 리니지 게임이 서비스되는 모든 국가의 문화적 차이를 이해하고 과학적으로 분석할 수 있는 방법이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 의미를 되새기는 것으로 짧은 연구를 시작하겠다. 등은 활성 값이 70% 이상으로 퇴적물 독성이 상대적으로 낮았다. 이중나선 DNA 함량은 28.4 % - 49%로 대조군에 비해서 감소가 크다. 대부분의 정점이 대조군의 30% 내외로 정점 간의 차이는 크지는 않다. 그러나 다른 측정자료와 같이 정점 22에서 18%로 최소치를 나타내고, 정점 2, 12에서 20% 내외의 값을 보인다. 종합적으로 볼 때 오염물질의 유입이 크고, 광양제철 인근 정점 들이 모두 다른 정점에 비해서 낮아서, 퇴적물 독성이 높은 정점으로 조사되었다.hiwo의 광합성 능력은 낮은 농도들에서는 대조구와 유사하였으나, 5 $\mu\textrm{g}$/l의 높은 농도에서는 초기에 매우 낮은 광합성 능력을 보이다가 시간이 경과하면서 대조군보다 더 높은 경향을 나타냈다. 이러한 결과는 식물플랑크톤이 benso[a]pyrene의 낮은 농도에서 노출될 때는 이 물질을 탄소원으로 사용할 가능성이 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구의 결과들은 연안해역에 benso[a]pyrene과 같은 지속성 유기오염물질이 유입되었을 때 내정여부에 따라 식물플랑크톤 군집내 종 천이와 일차생산력에 크게 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사한다.TEX>5.2개)였으며, 등급별 회수율은 각각 GI(8.5%), GII(13.4%), GIII(43.9%), GIV(34.2%)로 나타났다.ments of that period left both in Japan and Korea. 흑염소의 체내수정란 생산에 관한 연구

  • 면양과 염소가 최근 수십년동안 세계여러 나라에서 번식생리의 연구를 위한 모델로 사용되어 왔는데, 체내수정란의 생산에 관한 영역도 유럽을 중심으로 활발하게 연구되어왔다. 수정란생산을 위한 발정동기화방법, 과배란처리 및 수정란회수방법 기술은 현재 상당히 많은 기술진척이 이루어진 상태이나, 우리나라 고유의 재래유전자원인 흑염소에는 이를 위한 기술이 미진한 실정이므로 본 실험에서는 흑염소의 체내수정란생산기술을 확립하여 재래가축 유전자원보존을 위한 기초기술을 마련하고자 한다. 축산기술연구소 남원지소에서 사육하고 있는 체중 20kg 이상의 건강한 흑염소를 이용하여 발정동기화를 위해 controlled intravaginal drug release(CIDR)를 질내에 14일 동안 삽입하고, 과배란처리는 FSH를 CIDR 삽입 12, 13, 14일째에 12시간 간격으로 점감법으로 총20mg을 투여하였으며, PGF$_2$a를 13일째 FSH와 함께 투여하였다. CIDR는 14일째의 아침에 제거하였다. 수컷과의 교미는 CIDR제거 24시간후에 GnRH를 투여와 동시에 실시하였으며, 채란은 교미후 3일째에 외과적인 방법으로 실시하였다. CIDR처리경과에 따른 progesterone농도는 CIDR 주입시 바로 수치가 상승하여 제거전까지 6~12ng/m1의 농도를 유지하였으며, 제거즉시 2ng/ml 이하로 떨어졌다. 채란시 평균 배란점은 16.5개, 미배란난포 9.8개였으며, 회수수정란은 6.0개를 나타내어 채란율은 36.4%를 나타내었다. 회수된 수정란의 발달단계는 4-cell 78.9%, 2-cell 5.3%, fragmentation 15.8%를 나타내었다. 이와 같은 체내수정란생산방법을 기반으로 하여 이후 수정란의 동결 및 수정란이식기법에 관한 연구를 수행한다면 우리나라의 재래가축인 흑염소의 유전자원 장기보존과 생산성향상에 기여할 것으로 사료된다.배양액에 30 embryos/50ul 소적으로하여 38.8$^{\circ}C$, 5% $CO_2$의 탄산가스 배양기에서 각각 7일간 배양을 실시하였다. 조사된 결과는 SAS/STAT를 이용하여 통계분석을 실시하였다. 체외수정 12시간 후에 난자 급속 염색법으로 염색을 실시한 결과, 모든 처리구에서 핵성숙률(76.4~95.2%), 정자침투율(51.1~66.9%), 웅성전핵형성률(95.2~100%), 다정자침입률(18.2~25.6%) 및 평균침입정자수(1.2~l.4개)에서 유의적인 차이가 인정되지 않았다. 체외배양 48시간 난할률을 조사한 결과, 처리구별 차이(53.9~67.9%)는 인정되지 않았으나, 배양 7일째 배반포형성률은 각각 14.5, 25.4, 17.3 및 12.4%로서 25uM의 $\beta$-ME처리구가 유의적(P<0.05)으로 높은 배발달률을 나타내었고, 총세포수에 있어서는 대조구와 처리구간 유의적인 차이가 인정되지 않았다. 따라서 돼지 난포란을 성숙배양할 때, 25uM $\beta$-ME를 첨가배양하는 것이 양질의 돼지체외수정란을 생산하는 하나의 방법으로 조사되었다.다.natural objects and was popular at the time of Yukjo Dynasty, and there are some documents of that period left both in Japan and Korea.
