Statistical Study on Correlation Between Design Variable and Shape Error in Flexible Stretch Forming (가변스트레치성형 설계변수와 성형오차의 상관관계에 대한 통계적 연구)

  • A flexible stretch forming process is useful for small quantity batch production because various shape changes of the flexible die can be achieved conveniently. In this study, the design variables, namely, the punch size, curvature radius and elastic pad thickness, were quantitatively evaluated to understand their influence on sheet formability using statistical methods such as the correlation and regression analyses. Forming simulations were designed and conducted by a three-way factorial design to obtain numerical values of a shape error. Linear relationships between the design variables and the shape error resulted from the Pearson correlation analysis. Subsequently, a regression analysis was also conducted between the design variables and the shape error. A regression equation was derived and used in the flexible die design stage to estimate the shape error.

Out-line Space-shape Variation of Clothing Fitness with Somatotype (체형유형에 따른 의복의 착의 공간 형상 변화)

  • Clothing shape is principally described in seven factors that are composed of clothing design, clothing material, clothing size, pattern design, sewing method and body motion etc.. The aims of this study was to measurement out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with somato type by using the image processing. The subjects for direct anthropometric measurements were 248 female college students aged from 19 to 22. The data were statistically analyzed by principal analysis and cluster analysis. The results were obtained three somato type. Also I made skirts in order to analyzed to the out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body. The effect of somato type on the shape of flare skirts was determined by the out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body. The out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body was observed between the node number and amplitudes of clothing wave form and node number was determined at the maxim of space-shape amplitude, and the space-shape amplitudes have related with aspect ratio of cross-sectional shape. Results for flare skirts show changes in amplitude and mean with fabrics, somato type. therefore gray-level histogram are correlated with changes out-line space-shape, differences in drape spacing and related fabric properties and their somato type.   • Electro_optical characteristics in AC-PDP are confined by a lots of parameters. especially driving pulse shape is very important to improve AC-PDP's luminosity and efficiency. In that experiment measure the luminosity, IR(Infra Red) peak value and response time as the increase of 1st, 2rd sustain pulse width. The VDS(Versatile Driving Simulator -developed by kwangwoon university-) was used to make driving pulse shape. It is found that IR response time after displacement current, Luminosity and IR peak value are changed on account of 1st,2rd sustain pulse width.

Effect of Anchorage on Strength of Precast R/C Beam-Column Joints

  • Recently, there is a great demand for precast reinforced concrete (RC) construction methods on the purpose of simplicity in construction. Nishimatsu Construction Company has developed a construction method with precast reinforced concrete members in medium-rise building. In this construction method, how to joint precast members, especially the anchorage of the main bar of beam, is important problem. In this study, the structural performance of exterior joints with precast members was investigated. The parameters of the test specimens are anchorage type of the main bar of beam (U-shape anchorage or anchorage plate) and the ratio of the column axial force to the column strength. Specimens J-3 and J-4 used U-shape anchorage and the ratio of the column axial force of specimen J-4 was higher. On the other hand, specimens J-5 and J-6 used anchorage plate, and the anchorage lengths are 15d and 18d, respectively. Experimental results are summarized as follows; 1) For the joints with beam flexural failure mode, it was found that the maximum strength of specimen with anchorage plate is equal to or larger than that of specimen with conventional U-shaped anchorage if the anchorage length of more than 15d would be ensured, 2) Each specimen shows stable hysteretic curves and there were no notable effects on the hysteretic characteristics and the maximum strength caused by the anchorage method of beam main bar and the difference of column axial stress level.

  • Aerospace engine application needs to stand high temperature and pressure. Because of its mechanical properties such as high strength at high temperature, Alloy 718 is used aerospace engine application about 80%. But alloy 718's mechanical properties cause some problem to manufacturing profile ring like damage of material and mold. In this study, alloy 718's mechanical properties investigated for knowing its formability and using FE-Simulation for designing profile ring roll process and mold shape. Profile ring rolling processing is designed with "Initial material$\rightarrow$Blank$\rightarrow$Linear Ring$\rightarrow$Profilering". Blank's heating temperature is setting $1100^{\circ}C$ for manufacturing a trial profile ring on the basis of FE-Simulation. As a result of manufacturing alloy 718 profile ring, it is possible to make near target profile shape ring with all of the processing condition which gives in this study.

  • Optimization with metamodel is one of numerical optimization methods. Response surface method is performed for making metamodel. The Hcks-Henne function is used for designing 2D shape of the airfoil and spring analogy is used to change the grid according to the change in shape of the airfoil. Aerodynamic coefficient required for response surface method are obtained by using Navier-Stokes solver with $\kappa-\omega$ shear stress transport turbulence model. For the baseline airfoils, OA 312, OA 309, and OA 407 airfoils select and optimize to improve aerodynamic performance.

  • Nano pattern is being utilized to produce micro optical components, sensors, and information storage devices. In this study, a study on nano pattern fabrication using raster-scan type Focused Ion Beam (FIB) milling is introduced. Because the intensity of ion beam has Gaussian distribution, the overlapping of the Gaussian beam results in a 3D pattern, and the shape of the pattern can be adjusted by variation of FIB milling parameters, such as overlap, ion dose, and dwell time. The Gaussian shape of single beam intensity has been investigated by experiment, and 3D nano patterns with pitch of 200nm generated by FIB is demonstrated.

  • In this study, the axial-compressor design and performance/flow analysis program is developed. A mean-line analysis was used to determine optimum arrangement of overall geometry and its off-design performance is predicted by stage-stacking method. Three dimensional blade shape is generated using radial equilibrium equation and vortex methods. Various blade shape is generated and their performance is compared. Finally the quasi-three dimensional flow analysis is applied to investigate the detailed flow phenomena.

  • This paper deals with the control of an active bending actuator fur a catheter. The bending actuator with 40mm in length utilizes three zigzag SMA (shape memory alloy) springs which are equally located in the circumference between inner $({\phi}2.5 mm)$ and outer $({\phi}3.0mm)$ tube. It is purposed on realization of desired bending angle $(90^{\circ})$ and direction $(360^{\circ})$. It is also installed in front of the catheter and used to guide a path at extremely bent or branched blood vessel. The performance-analysis of the bending actuator are investigated fur the purpose of optimizing the control of the bending actuator. The analog joy stick is used to command a bending angle and direction for the fast and accurate response. According to the commands of the joy stick, tensile force of each SMA spring is computed and obtained by controlling the temperature of each SMA spring using PWM (pulse width modulation) of supplied electric power.

  • Differential pressure Venturi cone flowmeter is an advanced flowmeter which has many advantages such as wide range of measurement, high accuracy, excellent flow turndown ratio, low headless, and short installation pipe length requirement, etc. Like other differential pressure flowmeter, Venturi cone flowmeter uses the law of energy conservation, but its shape and position make it perform better than others. The cone acts as its own flow conditioner and mixer, fully conditioning and mixing the flow prior to measurement. For the analysis, we use Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations and $k-{\omega}$ turbulence model. The equations are fully trans-formed in the computational coordinates, the pressure-velocity coupling is made through SIMPLER algorithm, and the equations are discretized using analytic solutions of the linearized equations(Finite Analytic Method). At the end of the paper, using the result of analysis, We propose a new shape of cone with the hope of drag reduction and high performance.
