Psychometric Properties of the Vocational Ability Scale in Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the psychometric properties of the vocational ability scale used in the 8th Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled in Korea by using the Rasch model. The sample data was collected from 398 individuals with intellectual disabilities. Item fitness, item difficulty, the appropriateness of the rating scale, and the separation index of the vocational ability scale were evaluated. All 15 items show an appropriate fitness level. The analysis of item difficulty indicate that modifications are required. Specifically, the need for the addition of less difficult question items is identified. The use of a 5-point rating scale is shown to decrease the test difficulty in terms of clarity and readability when appropriate and a 4-point modification is also determined as appropriate. With respect to the outcomes of the analysis, the person separation reliability value and separation index are high, and the reliability of the items is also high.

평가 문항을 활용한 중학교 수학 교육과정의 내용 및 인지행동의 위계성 조사 (Investigating the Hierarchical Nature of Content and Cognitive Domains in the Mathematics Curriculum for Korean Middle School Students via Assessment Items)

  • 본 연구는 중학생들의 수학 성취를 국가수준에서 평가한 경험적 자료를 활용하여 우리나라 중학교 수학과 교육과정의 내용과 수학에서의 인지행동이 위계적으로 구성되어 있는지를 조사하였다. 전반적으로 교육과정의 내용 제시 순서는 난이도 순위와 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계가 나타나지 않은 반면, 인지행동의 위계는 난이도 순위와 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 이러한 결과에서 검사 문항의 난이도 순위가 학교에서 배운 수학 교과 내용의 순서보다는 문항에서 요구하는 인지행동의 수준과 더 관련이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 내용 위계와 인지행동의 위계 간 상관관계가 유의하게 나타나, 교육과정에서 늦게 등장하는 내용일수록 요구되는 인지 행동도 높은 수준임을 발견할 수 있었다. 내용 및 인지행동의 위계와 난이도 순위 간 상관분석에서 특이한 양상을 나타낸 문항에 대해서는 그 특성을 분석하였다.

뇌졸중 환자를 대상으로 실시한 한글판 기능적 보행평가의 타당도 (Validation of the Korean Functional Gait Assessment in Patients With Stroke)

  • Background: The Functional Gait Assessment (FGA) was developed to measure of gait-related activities. The FGA was translated in Korean but only a few psychometric characteristics had been studied. Objects: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Korean version of FGA scale using Rasch analysis. Methods: The study included 120 patients with stroke (age range=30~83 years; mean${\pm}$standard deviation=$58.3{\pm}11.1$). The FGA and Berg Balance Scale were performed, and were analysed for dimensionality of the scale, item difficulty, scale reliability and separation, and item-person map using Rasch analysis. Results: The 4 rating scale categories of FGA were satisfied with optimal rating scale criteria. The most items of the FGA showed sound item psychometric properties except 2 items ('gait with the horizontal head turns', and 'gait with narrow base of support'), and the 2 misfit items were excluded for all further analyses. The 8 items were arranged in order of difficulty. The most difficult item was 'gait with eyes closed', the middle difficult item was 'gait level surface', and the easiest item was 'gait with vertical head turns.' A person separation reliability was .93 and the person separation index was 3.57. Conclusion: This study suggests that the 8-item Korean FGA are valid measure of assess the gait-related balance performance, and to set the goal of rehabilitation plan in patient with stroke.

한국어판 알츠하이머병 지식 측정도구의 신뢰도와 타당도 (Psychometric Properties of the Alzheimer's Disease Knowledge Scale-Korean Version)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Korean version of the Alzheimer's Disease Knowledge Scale (ADKS-K) to determine its applicability to Korean adults. Methods: Cross-cultural validity was performed according to Consensus-based Standards for the Selection of Health Measurement Instruments (COSMIN). The Kuder-Richardson Formula 20 for internal consistency and Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) for test-retest reliability were conducted. Content validity, criterion related validity and construct validity were evaluated. The Classical Test Theory (CTT) model and the Item Response Theory (IRT) model were applied in performing the item analysis. Results: The KR 20 was .71, and the ICC was .90, indicating that the ADKS-K has internal consistency and stability reliability. Thirty items of the ADKS-K had significant Content Validity Ratio (CVR) values, i.e., mean of 0.82 and range of 0.60~1.00. Mean item difficulty and discrimination indices calculated by TestAn program were 0.63 and 0.23, respectively. Mean item difficulty and discrimination indices calculated by BayesiAn program were -0.60 and 0.77, respectively. These tests indicate that ADKS-K has an acceptable level of difficulty and discriminating efficiency. Conclusion: Results suggest that ADKS-K has the potential to be a proper instrument for assessing AD knowledge in Korean adults.

초등학교 5학년 학생들의 분수 연산능력 평가 문항에 대한 분석 (An Analysis of Assessment Item on the Fraction Computation Ability for Fifth Grade Student)

  • The purpose of this study is to develope and analyze the assessment items which can be used in evaluation of the fraction computation ability for fifth grade students. The item development team consists of three elementary school teachers and three mathematics education expert. The developed items was analyzed item analysis after applying to 135 fifth grade students. As a results of item analysis, it shows meaningful over the level of a standard basis: reliability: 0.80; validity: item 1(1.05), item 2(1.10), item 3(.85), item 4(.90), item 5(1.08); item difficulty: item 1(-.22), item 2(-.41), item 3(.23), item 4(.40), item 5(-.01); item discrimination: item 1(.73), item 2(.73), item 3(.67), item 4(.51), item 5(.56). This means that the test tool could be useful in the evaluation of the fraction computation ability.

  • As International considerations about the Barrier-Free environment increase, Korean Barrier-Free Environment Certification System has operated since 2008 in Korea. The purpose of this study is to find way to improve evaluation items, so this study analyzed the result of examination certified facilities and investigated the importance of the evaluation item for conducted a questionair survey with the BF experts. As a result, a lower scored and high important item should assign a higher score or lower the difficulty level, so induces applicants to be certified. Second, a higher scored and lower important item should assign a lower score or increase the difficulty of evaluating. The results suggested are expected the use in the improvement direction of BF certification evaluation items.

Characteristics of Problem on the Area of Probability and Statistics for the Korean College Scholastic Aptitude Test

  • In this study, we gave 132 high school students fifteen probabilities and nine statistics problems of the Korean College Scholastic Aptitude Test and then analyzed their answer using the classical test theory and the item response theory. Using the classical test theory (the Testian 1.0) we get the item reliability ($0.730 \sim 0.765$), and using the item response theory (the Bayesian 1.0) we get the item difficulty ( $-2.32\sim0.83$ ) and discrimination ( $0.55\sim 2.71$). From results, we find out what and why students could not understand well.

난이도 균일성을 고려한 유전자 알고리즘 기반 평가지 생성 시스템의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Genetic Test-Sheet-Generating Algorithm Considering Uniformity of Difficulty)

  • 원격교육 시스템의 평가 시스템에서 평가의 공정성을 위하여 매 평가 시 평가지의 난이도를 일정하게 유지할 수 있는 방법이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 유전자 알고리즘 기반의 평가지 생성 알고리즘을 제안한다. 평가지의 각 문항에 대한 난이도가 제출자에 의해서 지정되는 기존의 방법과는 달리 제안한 알고리즘에서는 각 문항의 난이도가 학생들의 평가 결과에 따라 적응적으로 조절되고, 평가지의 평균 난이도를 일정한 수준으로 유지할 수 있다. 제안한 알고리즘에서는 평가지에 동일한 문항이 중복으로 포함되는 것을 배제하고, 이전 평가의 결과를 반영하여 적응적으로 난이도가 조절될 수 있는 새로운 형태의 유전 연산자를 설계하고 구현한다. 그리고 모의실험을 통해 기존의 임의선택 방법과 모의 담금질 방법에 비해 균일한 난이도를 갖는 평가지가 생성될 수 있음을 보인다.

스포츠영재들의 자아존중감 문항적합도 (Self-esteem item goodness-of-fit in sports talented children)

  • 본 연구는 글로벌 스포츠리더 양성의 기반이라 할 수 있는 스포츠영재의 심리사회특성을 알아보는데 있어 기본적인 요인인 자아존중감의 문항적합도를 파악하기 위한 목적으로 이루어졌다. 이를 위해 한국체육대학교 2010년 체육영재양성사업에 참여하여 체육영재로 선발된 아동 50명에 대해 설문을 실시하고 통계분석 하였다. 조사도구로는 Rosenberg (1965)의 자아존중감 척도를 사용하였으며, 총 8문항에 대해 4점 리커트 척도로 응답하도록 하였다. 점수가 높을수록 자아존중감 정도가 높음을 의미하며, 본 연구에서 신뢰도인 크론바 알파는 .785였다. SPSS 18.0을 사용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계, 신뢰도 분석을 수행하였다. 문항적합도를 산출하기 위하여 WINSTEPS 3.70 (Linacre, 2010)을 사용하여 피험자신뢰도, 문항신뢰도, 척도수의 적절성, 문항적합도와 문항난이도, 척도의 난이도에 따른 적절성을 산출하였다. 연구목적에 따른 통계분석 결과 첫째, 자아존중감 피험자 신뢰도는 내-외적합도 1.01~1.03 문항신뢰도는 내-외적합도 1.01~1.01로 적합하였다. 둘째, 척도 범주수의 적절성에서는 단계지수로 판단한 결과 4점척도가 적합하였다. 셋째, 문항적합도와 문항난이도분석에서는 문항 2, 7, 8번 3문항에서 문제점이 발견되었다. 넷째, 척도의 적절성에서는 스포츠영재의 능력분포와 척도자체의 난이도면에서 판단할 때, 2, 7, 8번 문항은 적절하지 못한 것으로 확인되었다.

지역사회에 거주하는 노인을 대상으로 한 한글판 동적보행지수의 타당성 (Validation of the Korean Translated Dynamic Gait Index in Community-Dwelling Elderly)

  • The Dynamic Gait Index (DGI) was developed and widely used as a clinical tool to assess balance performance during gait. The purpose of this study was to validate the Korean translated DGI using Rasch analysis. A total of 105 community-dwelling elderly was participated in this study (age range = 65~95 years; mean = 78.0 years). The translated DGI showed sound item psychometric properties, and the 8 items were arranged in order of difficulty for the total participants. The most difficult item was 'Steps' and the easiest item was 'Level surface'. Also, each of the original 4 rating scale categories satisfied the Linacre's essential criteria suggestions for optimal rating scale category effectiveness. Although, thirty eight person (36.2%) showed the maximal high score, but the most of them was no history of fall in the preceding year. For subjects who has falling history, all of the person's ability was arranged within the item's difficulty. The 8-item Korean translated DGI can be used to measure gain in elderly person with balance disorders without compromising important clinical measurement characteristics in Korea.
