  • In this thesis, we consider isoparametric curves of quadratic F-B$\acute{e}$zier curves. F-B$\acute{e}$zier curves unify C-B$\acute{e}$zier curves whose basis is {sint, cos t, t, 1} and H-B$\acute{e}$zier curves whose basis is {sinht, cosh t, t,1}. Thus F-B$\acute{e}$zier curves are more useful in Geometric Modeling or CAGD(Computer Aided Geometric Design). We derive the relation between the quadratic F-B$\acute{e}$zier curves and the quadratic rational B$\acute{e}$zier curves. We also obtain the geometric properties of isoparametric curve of the quadratic F-B$\acute{e}$zier curves at both end points and prove the continuity of the isoparametric curve.

  • In the recent papers, S'anchez-Reyes [Appl. Math. Model. 40 (2016), 1676-1682] described the method for finding a minimal surface through a geodesic, and Li et al. [Appl. Math. Model. 37 (2013), 6415-6424] studied the approximation of minimal surfaces with a geodesic from Dirichlet function. In the present article, we consider an isoparametric surface generated by Frenet frame of a curve introduced by Wang et al. [Comput. Aided Des. 36 (2004), 447-459], and give the necessary and sufficient condition to satisfy both geodesic of the curve and minimality of the surface. From this, we construct minimal surfaces in terms of constant curvature and torsion of the curve. As a result, we present a new approach for constructions of the minimal surfaces from a prescribed closed geodesic and unclosed geodesic, and show some new examples of minimal surfaces with a circle and a helix as a geodesic. Our approach can be used in design of minimal surfaces from geodesics.

  • This is analyzed using the finite element method which is appling excellent isoparametric curve element in the aspect of large usages of dynamic responses in which is regarding geometric and material nonlinear of a large scale shell structure of an airplane, a submarine, a ship, and an ocean structure. The solution of dynamic equations is got by direct integration method using time-stepping procedure and regarding Central Difference Method of the both solutions. But because formal matrix factorization is not necessary in each time step and it does not take less time to compute relatively, this method must be regarded very few time steps on the condition. Axisymmatric shell problems are inspected using 8 node Isoparametric element in this paper. Partial axisymmatric spherical shell is used as a model to analyze axisymmatric nonlinear dynamic behavior regarding. Total Lagrangian formulation in geometric nonlinear behavior and elastio-viscoplastic in material nonlinear behavior.

  • The study deals with physical modeling of space frame-pile foundation and soil system using finite element models. The superstructure frame is analyzed using complete three-dimensional finite element method where the component of the frame such as slab, beam and columns are descretized using 20 node isoparametric continuum elements. Initially, the frame is analyzed assuming the fixed column bases. Later the pile foundation is worked out separately wherein the simplified models of finite elements such as beam and plate element are used for pile and pile cap, respectively. The non-linear behaviour of soil mass is incorporated by idealizing the soil as non-linear springs using p-y curve along the lines similar to that by Georgiadis et al. (1992). For analysis of pile foundation, the non-linearity of soil via p-y curve approach is incorporated using the incremental approach. The interaction analysis is conducted for the parametric study. The non-linearity of soil is further incorporated using iterative approach, i.e., secant modulus approach, in the interaction analysis. The effect the various parameters of the pile foundation such as spacing in a group and configuration of the pile group is evaluated on the response of superstructure owing to non-linearity of the soil. The response included the displacement at the top of the frame and bending moment in columns. The non-linearity of soil increases the top displacement in the range of 7.8%-16.7%. However, its effect is found very marginal on the absolute maximum moment in columns. The hogging moment decreases by 0.005% while sagging moment increases by 0.02%.

  • In this research paper, the free vibrational response of laminated composite plates is investigated using a non-polynomial refined shear deformation theory (NP-RSDT). The most interesting feature of this theory is the parabolic distribution of transverse shear deformations while ensuring the conditions of nullity of shear stresses at the free surfaces of the plate without requiring the Shear correction factor "Ks". A fourth-nodded isoparametric element with four degrees of freedom per node is employed for laminated composite plates. The numerical analysis of simply supported square anti-symmetric cross-ply and angle-ply laminated plate is carried out using a special discretization based on four-node finite element method which four degrees of freedom per node. Several numerical results are presented to show the effect of the coupling parameters of the plate such as the modulus ratios, the thickness ratio and the plate layers number on adimensional eigen frequencies. All numerical results presented using the current finite element method (FEM) is presented in 3D curve form.
