Effect of the Concentration of Suspension and Electrolyte on Zeta Potential (현탁액과 전해질의 농도가 제타전위에 미치는 영향)

  • It was investigated that effect of suspension and electrolyte concentrations on zeta potential of alumini suspension and Iso-Electric Point(I.E.P.). The alumina powders in 0.1∼l $\mu\textrm{m}$ particle size distribution, and the electrolyte NH$_4$NO$_3$ were used for preparing the suspension and electrophoresis method was used for measuring zeta potential in this work. As the concentration of suspension was increased, zeta potential and the I.E.P. were increased, respectively. On the other hand, as the electrolyte concentration was increased, the I.E.P. was decreased. As a result of this work, the best condition for measuring zeta potential was the 0.01 wt% and 10 mM of the suspension and the electrolyte concentration, respectively.

  • This paper presents a hardware development procedure of the ASB(Active Seat Belt) control system to comply with ISO 26262. The ASIL(Automotive Safety Integrity Level) of an ASB system is determined through the HARA(Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment) and the safety mechanism is applied to meet the reqired ASIL. The hardware architecture of the controller consists of a microcontroller, H-bridge circuits, passive components, and current sensors which are used for the input comparison. The required ASIL for the control systems is shown to be satisfied with the safety mechanism by calculation of the SPFM(Single Point Fault Metric) and the LFM(Latent Fault Metric) for the design circuits.

A Study on Firing Risk Assessment of Film Manufacturing Process (필름제조 공정의 착화 위험성에 관한 연구)

  • We have considered the fire hazard by the static in anti-static film manufacturing factory on this study. Solvents that the flash point as ethanol, methanol and iso-propyl alcohol is low are used on the manufacturing process of anti-static film, and the minimum ignition energy of these solvents is ignited easily despite less discharge energy form 0.16 mJ to 0.65 mJ. After the static electric potential produced on each of the manufacturing plants was measured, electric potential on films of paste board is measured form 17 kV to 20 kV. But this exceeds 5 kV, which is electrifiable of objective of nonconductor for fire & explode protection. Therefore, We figure out the fire hazard was high by a static discharge in anti-static film manufacturing factory.

Preparation of ZnO@TiO2 nano coreshell structure by the polymerized complex and sol-gel method (착체중합법과 sol-gel법에 의한 ZnO@TiO2 나노 코아쉘 구조의 제조)

  • Nano core shell structures of $TiO_2$ particles coated on surface of ZnO nanoparticles were prepared by the polymerized complex and sol-gel method. The average particle size of ZnO by the polymerized complex method showed 100 nm and the average particle size of $TiO_2$ by the sol-gel method showed below 10 nm. The average particle size of $ZnO@TiO_2$ nano core shell struture represented about 150 nm. The agglomeration between the ZnO particles using the polymerized complex method was highly controlled by the uniform absorption of $TiO_2$ colloid on the spherical ZnO surfaces. The driving force of heterogeneous bonding between ZnO and $TiO_2$ was induced by the Coulomb force. The ZnO and $TiO_2$ particles electrified with + and - charges, respectively, resulted in strong bonding by the difference of iso-electric point (IEP) when they laid neutrality pH area, depending on the heterogeneous surface electron electrified by the different zeta potential on the pH values.

Comparative LCA of three types of Interior Panel (IP) in Electric Motor Unit (EMU) (전동차 내장패널(Interior Panel)에 대한 비교 전과정평가)

  • A comparative Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) among three types of Electric Motor Unit (EMU) Interior Panel (IP) was conducted. A functional unit for comparative LCA is a weight of IP for 1 EMU. It is assumed that Manufacturing stage and its upstream processes, Use stage and End of Life (EoL) stage are included in the boundary of product system. For Use stage, the weight of IP causes electricity consumption. It is assumed that aluminum IP is recycled and the other IPs are incinerated at the EoL stage. As a comparison results, aluminum IP has much larger environmental impact (5.162pt) than others (FRP IP; 4.069pt, Phenol IP; 4.053pt) even though recycling consideration is included. The manufacturing stage of aluminum IP has relative big environmental impact (1.824pt) and this point make the most important difference from other IPs (FRP IP; 0.1617pt, Phenol IP; 0.4534pt)). Despite of large weight difference between FRP IP (888.96kg) and phenol IP (316kg), the final environmental impact result has only little difference (0.016pt, 0.39%). With this result, the EMU designer can choose IP with a consideration of the environmental performance of IP.

Basic Design of ECU Hardware for the Functional Safety of In-Vehicle Network Communication (차량 내 네트워크 통신의 기능안전성을 위한 하드웨어 기본 설계)

  • This paper presents a basic ECU(Electronic Control Unit) hardware development procedure for the functional safety of in-vehicle network systems. We consider complete hardware redundancy as a safety mechanism for in-vehicle communication network under the assumption of the wired network failure such as disconnection of a CAN bus. An ESC (Electronic Stability Control) system is selected as an item and the required ASIL(Automotive Safety Integrity Level) for this item is assigned by performing the HARA(Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment). The basic hardware architecture of the ESC system is designed with a microcontroller, passive components, and communication transceivers. The required ASIL for ESC system is shown to be satisfied with the designed safety mechanism by calculation of hardware architecture metrics such as the SPFM(Single Point Fault Metric) and the LFM(Latent Fault Metric).

  • The factor, which was capable of accelerating the yeast cell wall lysis of the zymolyase(${\beta}-1$, 3-glucanase), was purified to a homogeneous state from the protease fraction of the crude zymolyase by Sephadex G-75 gel filtration and preparative polyacrylamide gel disc electrophoresis. The molecular weight of the purified factor was estimated to be 40,500 by SDS-polylacrylamide gel disc electrophoresis and it's iso-electric point was pH 9.6. The factor was found to be a basic protease consisted of single polypeptide chain with 395 amino acid residues and it showed the $E_{280,cm}^{1%}$ of 11.9 and the molecular extinction coefficient of $4.83{\times}10^4$, respectively.
