The Fourier series has a rapid oscillation near end points at jump discontinuity which is called the Gibbs phenomenon. There is an overshoot (or undershoot) of approximately 9% at jump discontinuity. In this paper, we prove that a bunch of series representations (certain nonharmonic Fourier series) give good approximations vanishing Gibbs phenomenon. Also we have an application for approximating some shape of upper part of a vehicle in a different way from the method of cubic splines and wavelets.

This study investigates the shear lag phenomenon existing in the shear wall of the wall-frame structure. Elastic analysis of such structures is carried out using a 3-D frame analysis program. The structural parameters governing the shear lag phenomenon are wall height and thickness. The analysis shows that the overturning moment due to external lateral load is resisted by both of the shear/core wall and the external frame. Severe unstable stresses are identified in height ratio of about 0.7 The taller or thinner wall shows the smaller shear lag phenomenon.

The liquid phase LPG injection (LPLI) system is considered as one of the next generation fuel supply systems for LPG, vehicles, since it can accomplish the higher power, higher efficiency, and lower emission characteristics than the existing mixer type fuel supply system. However, during the injection of liquid LPG fuel into the inlet duct of an engine, a large quantity of heat is extracted due to evaporation of fuel. A problem is that the moisture in the air freezes around the outlet of a nozzle, which is called icing Phenomenon. It may cause damage to the outlet nozzle of an injector. The frozen ice deposit detached from the nozzle also may cause a considerable damage to the inlet valve or valve seat. In this work, the experimental investigation of the icing phenomenon was carried out. The results showed that the icing phenomenon and process were mainly affected by humidity of inlet air instead of the air temperature in the inlet duct. Also, it was observed that the icing occurs first in the inlet of a nozzle, and grows considerably at the upper part of the nozzle inlet and the opposite side of the nozzle entrance. An LPG fuel, mainly consisting of butane, has lower latent heat of vaporization than that of propane, which is an advantage in controlling the icing phenomenon.

만평은 특정인물 또는 사회현상을 풍자하기 위해서 특정인물 또는 사회현상에 비유되는 인물캐릭터를 등장시킨다. 만평 속 인물캐릭터의 말과 행위를 통해 부정행위를 한 권력자나 부조리한 사회현상을 드러낸다. 본 연구의 인물캐릭터인 국정원 여직원은 장기간에 걸쳐 만평에 등장하고 있으며, 실제 인물 대신에 사회현상을 비유하고 있다. 이처럼 국정원 여직원이 장기간에 걸쳐 만평 속 인물캐릭터로 등장하는 이유는 관련된 사회현상이 종결되지 않고 진행 중이기 때문이다. 또한 실제인물 대신에 사회현상을 비유하는 이유는 국정원 여직원의 숨겨진 얼굴로 인해 얼굴을 알기 쉽지 않은데 기인한다. 숨겨진 얼굴은 인물의 특징을 과장하기 힘들게 한다. 숨겨진 얼굴은 야구모자와 목도리로 상징되는 숨고 싶은 욕망의 표현이기도 하다. 숨겨진 얼굴과 숨고 싶은 욕망은 실제 인물 대신에 관련 있는 다른 인물 혹은 사회현상으로 치환하기 쉽게 만든다. 즉 국정원 여직원의 외형적 특징은 만평에서 '추가된 기의'를 결합시키기에 좋은 조건을 갖추고 있는 셈이다. 만평 속 인물캐릭터인 국정원 여직원은 실제 국정원 여직원과 무관하게 여러 의미가 필요에 의해 결합하여 실제 인물은 사라지고 다른 인물 혹은 집단 또는 사회현상으로 치환된다. 이처럼 본 연구는 만평에서 '국정원 여직원'으로 등장하는 인물캐릭터를 기호적으로 분석함으로써 만평 속 인물캐릭터의 역할을 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서 만평 속 인물캐릭터의 기호적 분석을 통해 다음을 알 수 있다. 첫 번째, 만평은 사회현상을 풍자한다. 만평 속 인물캐릭터가 실제 인물을 대신하여 사회현상을 풍자한다. 두 번째, 만평은 정치가 만들어내는 부조리한 사회현상의 핵심적이거나 감추고 싶은 치부를 드러내어 풍자한다. 만평 속 인물캐릭터가 실제 인물을 대신하여 사회현상의 핵심적이거나 감추고 싶은 치부를 드러내어 풍자한다. 세 번째, 만평은 정치가 만들어내는 부조리한 사회현상의 책임자에게 경고의 메시지를 보낸다. 만평 속 인물캐릭터가 실제 인물을 대신하여 정치가 만들어내는 부조리한 사회현상의 책임자에게 경고의 메시지를 보낸다. 네 번째, 만평은 정치가 만들어내는 부조리한 사회현상에 의해 개인이 받게 되는 상처 혹은 스트레스를 견딜 수 있게 카타르시스를 제공한다. 만평 속 인물캐릭터가 실제 인물을 풍자하고 조롱함으로써 부조리한 사회현상에 의해 개인이 받게 되는 상처 혹은 스트레스를 견딜 수 있게 카타르시스를 제공한다.

Purpose: The stock price delay phenomenon refers to a phenomenon in which stock prices do not immediately reflect corporate information and the reflection is delayed. A prior study reported that the stock price delay phenomenon appears strongly when the quality of corporate information is low (Callen, Khan, & Lu, 2013). The purpose of the internal accounting control system is to improve the reliability of accounting information. Specifically, the more professionals such as certified public accountants are placed in the internal accounting control system, the more information is prevented from being distorted, so the occurrence of stock price delay will decrease. Research design, data and methodology: In this study, companies listed on the securities market from 2012 to 2016 were selected as a sample to analyze whether the stock price delay phenomenon is alleviated as accounting experts are assigned to the internal accounting control system. The internal control personnel data were collected in the "Internal Accounting Control System Operation Report" attached to the business report of each company of the Financial Supervisory Service's Electronic Disclosure System(DART). The measurement method of the stock price delay phenomenon was referred to the study of Hou and Moskowitz (2005). The final sample used in the study is 2,641 firm-years. Results: It was found that companies with certified accountants in the internal accounting control system alleviate the stock price delay phenomenon. This result can be interpreted as increasing the speed at which corporate information is reflected in the stock price by improving the reliability of information disclosed in the market by the placement of experts in the system. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that accounting professionals assigned to the internal accounting control system are playing a positive role in providing high-quality information to the market. In this study, focusing on the fact that the speed at which corporate information is reflected in the stock price is very important for the stakeholders in the capital market, we find that having a certified public accountant in the internal accounting control system alleviates the stock price delay phenomenon.

In this paper, we present a demodulation structure suitable for a reader baseband receiver in a passive radio frequency identification (RFID) environment. In a passive RFID configuration, an undesirable DC-offset phenomenon may appear in the baseband of the reader receiver, which can severely degrade the performance of the extraction of valid information from the received tag signal. To eliminate this DC-offset phenomenon, the primary feature of the proposed demodulation structures for the received FM0 and Miller subcarrier signals is to reconstruct the signal corrupted by the DC-offset phenomenon by creating peak signals from the corrupted signal. It is shown that the proposed method can successfully detect valid data, even when the received baseband signal is distorted by the DC-offset phenomenon.

The purpose of this study was to examine the views of elementary students and teachers in relation to life phenomenon. Students seemed to strongly agree with the notion of vitalism as well as with organicism. However they clearly disagreed with the notion of mechanism. Contrary to our supposition, their viewpoints on lift phenomenon were highly affected by their relative levels of academic achievement in science subject areas, rather than by their religious affiliations. One possible explanation for this outcome is that elementary schoolers have not firmly established religious views, though they might indeed have a religious affiliation. High-achieving children in science subject areas seemed to agree with both vitalism and organicism (p<.01), and it is suggested that those students must have had more opportunities to encounter related cases in modem science or life ethics. Teachers agreed with all three views, showing the highest rate of approval in organicism. Though they appeared to agree with mechanism, they were strongly opposed to radical mechanism generally arguing that 'organism and machines were essentially the same'. Student responses indicated that TV had a bigger influence on their viewpoint on life phenomenon than teachers did. This means that children held certain views about the relative significance and influences of teachers vis-a-vis TV in daily life, and is also reflective of a perception amongst students that teachers do not how the significance of viewpoints on lift phenomenon.

This study aims to give an architectural meaning to the process of change in villages formed to maintain the religious lives. We can draw the following conclusion by reviewing and analyzing primarily the details in relation to the bibliography and actually evaluating and analysing the current status of relevant villages secondly in order to understand the architectural meaning of Catholic village. The architectural Image contained in physical architectural phenomenon displays the change in religious values while the social and cultural characters are responding to the architectural space of Cheonho Village, and this, as a cultural byproduct, is the architectural phenomenon that encompasses the process by which religion takes root in the farming society of Korea that reveals the change in value inherent in the community. The result from study that we conducted via the architectural space of Cheonho Village is interpreted as an architectural phenomenon that encompasses the religion as part of routine lives in a way that is different from the process of becoming in-cultural, and this can be interpreted to have a meaning and character as incultural architecture phenomenon.

This study estimates the correlation dimensions of the land-sea breeze phenomenon, that has a clear diurnal cycle, in order to gain a more detailed understanding of this phenomenon. The data adopted include north-south wind velocity component(v) and temperature(T) time series that were observed at Kimhae Airport and Inje University over a period of 5 days, from the 4th to the 8th of August, 1994. The embedding phase space of the time series were reconstructed from 2 to 14 dimensions, and the correlation dimensions of the attractors were then estimated. The results show that the land-sea breeze phenomenon exhibits a deterministic chaos with non-integer correlation dimension values between 2 and 3. Accordingly, 3 is the minimum number of independent variables required to model the dynamics of the landsea breeze phenomenon in the Kimhae area. Since the saturated embedding dimension, when the correlation dimension remains unchanged, is larger for the wind velocity v-component than for temperature, this indicates that wind velocity is susceptible to topology.

In this paper a typical problem is examined that a light, general aviation airplane, such as Cessna or Navion, in gliding turn flight shows helical-dive phenomenon when pilots try to stop the descent by using elevator only. It is known from pilot's experience that in a certain flight trim it is impossible to recover from helical-dive by using elevator only. From this study it is shown that helical-dive phenomenon is involved with longitudinal/lateral dynamics coupling to airplane's aerodynamics. Also this phenomenon consists of three parts of flight dynamics; first of all, fast longitudinal motion occurs, then is followed by a little slow lateral motion, and finally logitudinal/lateral coupled motion is fully developed.
