  • As digital evidence becomes more important in criminal investigations, disputes are increasing in court. As media diversifies and the scope of analysis expands, the level of expertise in digital forensics is also increasing. However, no competency model has been developed to define the capabilities of digital evidence examiners or to judge their expertise. There have been some studies that have derived the capabilities necessary for digital evidence examiner, but they are still insufficient. Therefore, in this study, 25 competency evaluation factors in a total of 9 competency groups were defined using methodologies such as expert FGI and Delphi survey. Specifically, it was defined as Digital Forensics Theory, Digital Evidence Collection&Management, Disk Forensics, Mobile Forensics, Video Forensics, infringement forensics, DB Forensics, Embedded(IoT) Forensics, and Cloud Forensics. The digital evidence examiner competency model is expected to be used in various fields such as recruitment, education and training, and performance evaluation in the future.

  • This paper proposes an E-Commerce service that supports large quantities of food waste sales generated by collective residences, including apartments, to consumers in urban areas, such as livestock farmers, through online transactions. Unlike general E-Commerce, the proposed service uses a smart food waste bin equipped with an IoT-based sensor and communication module to automatically collect the location information of each apartment and the amount of food waste to be displayed in a specialized E-Commerce platform. The key of this system is to provide information and sell it to consumers. The smart food waste bin periodically delivers its current capacity and location using a weight sensor, GPS sensor and LoRa communication module to a cloud-based database to be used in web or mobile applications. The proposed E-Commerce service is expected to help resolve the food waste disposal problem and revitalize the local economy by linking with a service that delivers food waste from each apartment to a nearby location where the buyer is located.

  • Recently, intelligent control systems are developing rapidly in various application fields, and methods for utilizing technologies such as deep learning, IoT, and cloud computing for intelligent control systems are being studied. An important technology in an intelligent control system is recognizing and tracking objects in images. However, existing multi-object tracking technology has problems in accuracy and speed. In this paper, a real-time intelligent control system was implemented using YOLO v5 and YOLO v6 based on a one-shot architecture that increases the accuracy of object tracking and enables fast and accurate tracking even when objects overlap each other or when there are many objects belonging to the same class. The experiment was evaluated by comparing YOLO v5 and YOLO v6. As a result of the experiment, the YOLO v6 model shows performance suitable for the intelligent control system.

  • Due to the development of technologies, such as big data, cloud, IoT, and AI, The high data throughput is required, and the importance of network flexibility and scalability is increasing. However, existing network systems are dependent on vendors and equipment, and thus have limitations in meeting the foregoing needs. Accordingly, SDN technology that can configure a software-centered flexible network is attracting attention. In particular, a load balancing method based on SDN can efficiently process massive traffic and optimize network performance. In the existing load balancing studies in SDN environment have limitation in that unnecessary traffic occurs between servers and controllers or performing load balancing only after the server reaches an overload state. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a method that minimizes unnecessary traffic and appropriate load balancing can be performed before the server becomes overloaded through a method of assigning weights to servers in stages according to server load.

  • Digital transformation refers to the process by which a company or organization changes or innovates its existing business model or sales activities using digital technology. This requires the use of various digital technologies - cloud computing, IoT, artificial intelligence, etc. - to strengthen competitiveness in the market, improve customer experience, and discover new businesses. In addition, in order to derive knowledge and insight about the market, customers, and production environment, it is necessary to select the right data, preprocess the data to an analyzable state, and establish the right process for systematic analysis suitable for the purpose. The usefulness of such digital data is determined by the importance of pre-processing and the correct application of exploratory data analysis (EDA), which is useful for information and hypothesis exploration and visualization of knowledge and insights. In this paper, we reexamine the philosophy and basic concepts of EDA and discuss key visualization information, information expression methods based on the grammar of graphics, and the ACCENT principle, which is the final visualization review standard, for effective visualization.

  • Lighting has been used for a long time as a medium to convey brightness from darkness, and through incandescent lamps and fluorescent lamps, LED light sources have now become the standard in the lighting industry. Recently, the lighting equipment industry has been undergoing rapid digital transformation, starting with smart lighting, and is evolving into smart lighting customized for individuals and spaces through the development of IoT technology, cloud-based services, and data analysis. However, the blue light emitted from digital devices (computers, smartphones, tablets, etc.) or LED lights stimulates the melanopsin in the optic ganglion cells in the retina of the eye, which in turn stimulates the secretion of melatonin through the pineal gland, which regulates the secretion of melatonin. This can reduce sleep quality or disrupt biological rhythms. This interaction between blue light and melatonin has such a significant impact on human sleep patterns and overall health that it is essential to reduce exposure to blue light, especially in the evening. Human-centered lighting refers to lighting that takes into account the effects of light on the physical and mental areas, such as human activity and awakening, improvement of sleep quality, and health management. Many research institutes study the effects in the visible area and the non-visible area. By studying the impact, it is expected to improve the quality of human life. In this study, we plan to study ways to implement human-centered lighting by collecting sunrise and sunset data and linking commercialized LED packages and control devices with open-source hardware.

  • Connectivity is becoming more important keywords recently. For example, many devices are going to be connected to the internet. It is usually called as the IoT(internet of things). Many IoT devices can be evolved as a part of giant system of the world wide web. It is a great opportunity for us, because many new services can have emerged through this paradigm. In this paper, we propose a device virtualization framework for smart home service. The proposed framework connects the many home appliances devices and the internet using a dynamic protocol conversion. After our protocol conversion for device virtualization, our framework provides a RESTful API to access the resources of device through the internet. Therefore, the proposed framework can provide a variety of services, so it also can be developed into the ecosystem for smart home service. The current framework version only supports UPnP enabled devices of the home, but it can easily be extended to many other home middleware solutions. To verify the feasibility of the framework, we have implemented several service scenarios.

  • The advent of e-government following the information revolution has affected public records systems. Records management should now be changed into an environment for establishing a national records management system based on the Internet of things (IoT), cloud, big data, and mobile (ICBM), and it is time to make a fresh start toward a next-generation records management system that responds to changes in the environment. Ultimately, it is time for a records management system that ensures a proper way of dealing with new environmental changes. It has been nearly 20 years since the Public Records Management Act was enacted in 1999, and its complete amendment was made in 2006 so that electronic records could be efficiently managed. When recompliance management needs to be rechecked, a full redesign is required to enable the current legal system to respond to the new circumstances in the present day. Therefore, this study is intended to suggest ways to improve the new records management legal system as the environment changes over the next generation and lay the legal groundwork for innovation in the national records management system.

  • In the recent modernized world, utilization of natural resources (renewable & non-renewable) is increasing drastically due to the sophisticated life style of the people. The over-consumption of non-renewable resources causes pollution which leads to global warming. Consequently, government agencies have been taking several initiatives to control the over-consumption of non-renewable natural resources and encourage the production of renewable energy resources. In this regard, we introduce an IoT powered integrated framework called as green home architecture (GHA) for green score calculation based on the usage of natural resources for household purpose. Green score is a credit point (i.e.,10 pts) of a family which can be calculated once in a month based on the utilization of energy, production of renewable energy and pollution caused. The green score can be improved by reducing the consumption of energy, generation of renewable energy and preventing the pollution. The main objective of GHA is to monitor the day-to-day usage of resources and calculate the green score using the proposed green score algorithm. This algorithm gives positive credits for economic consumption of resources and production of renewable energy and also it gives negative credits for pollution caused. Here, we recommend a green score based tax calculation system which gives tax exemption based on the green score value. This direct beneficiary model will appreciate and encourage the citizens to consume fewer natural resources and prevent pollution. Rather than simply giving subsidy, this proposed system allows monitoring the subsidy scheme periodically and encourages the proper working system with tax exemption rewards. Also, our GHA will be used to monitor all the household appliances, vehicles, wind mills, electricity meter, water re-treatment plant, pollution level to read the consumption/production in appropriate units by using the suitable sensors. These values will be stored in mass storage platform like cloud for the calculation of green score and also employed for billing purpose by the government agencies. This integrated platform can replace the manual billing and directly benefits the government.
