  • Objectives : A precedent research has documented that occupational stress is closely associated with increased the risk of fatigue and decreased in job satisfaction. This study was conducted in an effort to assess the relationship of occupational stress to self-perceived fatigue and job satisfaction by using job strain model. Methods : The number of respondents was 122 dental hygienist who work in dental clinic and period of the investigation was July 2009 through september 2009. A structured questionnaire was employed to evaluate the participants' sociodemographics, job-related factors, health-related behaviors, occupational stress, job satisfaction and self-perceived fatigue. Occupational stress and self-perceived fatigue were assessed using the Korean Occupational Stress Scale-Short form (KOSS-SF) and the Multidimensional Fatigue Scale (MFS), respectively. Results : In job strain model, the ratio of Q2(High Strain Job) group that more susceptible to disease by stress than other group was 16% and the proportion of high fatigue group(Q3, Q4 group) and low job satisfaction group(Q3, Q4 group) was 48%, 45% respectively. In logistic regression analyses, a High Strain Job group was associated with higher odds of react factor(fatigue, job satisfaction) and the odds was down by 3.3%~7.5% after adjustment for age, smoking, alcohol drinking, regular exercise. So the effective strategy for fatigue, job satisfaction reduction for dental hygienist requires additional program focusing on innovated work environment that provide a enough leisure time and exercise program considering the personality traits. Conclusions : The results of this study suggest that occupational stress is a determinant predictor of self perceived fatigue and job satisfaction. Thus, a stress management program for the reduction of occupational stress, and the promotion of dental hygienist impact assessment health and quality of life is strongly recommended.

  • This research aimed to investigate the effect of business management of Korean restaurants on business performance and to propose an alternative. For this investigation, a survey was carried out targeting Korean restaurant managers in the capital area, and with 360 copies as sample, factor analysis, difference test, and multiple regression analysis were conducted. As a result of analysis, among the factors of business management of Korean restaurants, only information management and fund management appeared to have effects on both financial performance and nonfinancial performance. This means, in case of Korean restaurants, business performance can be improved by understanding every environment about food service management and customer demands, by investing fund in the right place, and by managing inefficient expenses. Therefore, it is most important for a Korean restaurant manager to cultivate knowledge in management and to put effort into cost-reduction of all employees.

  • To infer the true state of a regional product's attributes, consumers use the image they have of the product's region of origin; however, products may have multiple countries of origin in their design, branding, sourcing and manufacturing becuase more products are increasingly a result of multi-firm and multi-country efforts. We examined how the country-of-origin image (country image and product image) affect international consumers' perceived value (function value and symbolic value) and purchase intentions of made-in China goods by extending and deepening the flexible model. Second, to investigate the differences of COO effects according to different types of country-of-origin we divided the traditional country-of-origin into two components: country-of-manufacture (COM) and country-of-brand (COB). We then explore how the impact of China's country image on consumers' perceived value and purchase intentions varies when China is the COM or COB of the same product. Six hypotheses were proposed to test our anticipations. We recruited 800 Korean adult consumers who previously purchased made-in China products to participate in the online investigation. Data analyses were conducted with confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling using SPSS and AMOS. The main results are discussed as follows. First, the effects of China's COO image on Korean consumers' perceived value and purchase intentions vary when China is the COM or COB of a product. Second, a positive effect of the function value and symbolic value on the purchase intentions was found. Literature and practical implications of findings are discussed and suggested in the conclusion.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop usability evaluation tool for wearable computer. In this paper, we propose evaluation factor and object through context evaluation in the real environment. The basic idea of this process is to know the thought from wearable user. Also, we gathered the opinion from expert group. As a result, we adopted evaluation question categories. By examining some empirical data which is obtained from observation and wearability evaluation, we conclude usability evaluation of wearable computer, including smart clothing. The design process in creating a successful wearable usability is no longer about providing technical success, rather about creating a optimal user experience.

  • The Agrobacterium tumefaciens mediated gene transfer is widely used to generate genetic transformation of plants and transient assay of temporal exogenous gene expression. Syringe infiltration system into tobacco (Nicotiana benthamiana) leaves is a powerful tool for transient expression of target protein to study protein localization, protein-protein binding and protein production. However, the protocol and technical information of transient gene expression, especially double strand RNA (dsRNA), in tobacco using Agrobacterium is not well known. Recently, dsRNA is crucial for insecticidal effect on destructive agronomic pest such as Corn rootworm. In this study, we investigated the factor influencing the dsRNA expression efficiency of syringe agro-infiltration in tobacco. To search the best combination for dsRNA transient expression in tobacco, applied two Agrobacterium cell lines and three plant vector systems. The efficiency of dsRNA expression has estimated by real-time PCR and digital PCR. As a result, pHellsgate12 vector constructs showed the most effective accumulation of dsRNA in the cell. These results indicated that the efficiency of dsRNA expression was depending on the kind of vector rather than Agrobacterium cells. In summary, the optimized combination of transient dsRNA expression system in tobacco might be useful to in vivo dsRNA expression for functional study and risk assessment of dsRNA.

  • Wetland awareness is a crucial factor for wetland conservation and management. A multidisciplinary approach is needed for the understanding of wetland awareness as associated with history, culture, and social-economics of human society. In addition, a historical investigation of the causes and areas of destruction is important. Therefore, the aim of this study was to confirm how people understood and managed wetlands in the Joseon Dynasty using historical records (Annals of the Joseon Dynasty). Approximately twenty words were found in the historical records that were used to indicate and describe wetlands and/or wet soil conditions. Most records of wetlands have a negative context. This negative attitude towards wetlands could have influenced wetland use. Most wetlands had been converted to cultivation areas especially rice paddies although some wetlands, which were used for irrigation of cultivated crops or reclaimed as cultural land had been specially managed. Because wetlands were poorly drained soil and were located near streams or rivers, they were culturally important within the environment as water for rice paddies.

  • Most of the stone cultural properties is exposed to the weathering factor(rain, windetc.), so the shelter is constructed for reduction of its direct effect. But the shelter is indicated some problems that inharmoniousness of the surroundings, in section disturbance for insufficiency of light, the loss about the value of cultural properties and so on. So we have investigated on environmental condition (temperature, relative humidity, wind etc.) at the Standing Stone Buddhist Triad in Bae-ri, Gyeongju and Rock-carved Triad Buddha in Seosan because check the effect of the shelter. As the result, the Standing Stone Buddhist Triad in Bae-ri, Gyeongju is located a pine wood and a lot of bamboo grow naturally in nearing. Environmental difference on inside and outside of the shelter is not found because opened on all sides. But there is so dim for the direction of the sunlight that can't see the Standing Stone Buddhist. The base rock of Rock-carved Triad Buddha in Seosan well develop with crack and break, and the vegetation(trees, moss, lichen etc.) grow naturally in surroundings. Environmental difference on inside and outside of the shelter is found because closed on all sides and opened the front gate only inspection time. Inside of the shelter was too calm(air-velocity not detected) and humid(over 75%RH). Also the surface is occurred the dew(at 2-4 pm) and the efflorescence for effect of the water(rain, dew etc.). Besides the head of the central Buddhist is so dangerous for crack.

  • The heater is applied to the lunar lander for securing its survivability under severe lunar thermal environment during 14 days of night time. For this, the heater on/off set-points shall be determined to minimize the power consumption due to the limited power generation of lunar lander during night time. In addition, the temperature changes of the lander according to the heater set-point is also an important factor because it is related to thermo-mechanical reliability on solder joint of on-board electronics. In this study, we investigated thermo-mechanical reliability on solder joint according to the heater set-point by using commercial reliability and a life prediction tool of Sherlock based on the thermal analysis results of lunar lander that is a year of the mission lifetime.

  • A palynological investigation of the Annyeong-ri, Hwasung-gun Gyeonggi-do, in where Yung-Nung and Gun-Nung are located, was carried out for the first time. From the pollen analysis, two pollen zones are established: Pollen Zone I : Ainus-Quercus-Pinus and Pollen Zone Ⅱ : Pinus. Pollen Zone I is characterized by Mixed coniferous and deciduous broadleaved vegetation during about 3,500 yr. B.P.-2,000 yr. B.P., while after 2,000 yr. B.P. Pollen Zone Ⅱ appears to be Coniferous vegetation and Evergreen broadleaved vegetation. The former reflects there was a lowland fluvio-lacustrine environment before fully lacustrine one which represents the latter. Pollen analysis indicates the vegetation before 2,000 yr. B.P. was controled by environmental factor such as climate conditions, whereas after that time vegetation was strongly effected by human's impact. It is concluded that pollen analysis is useful to find out the relationship between vegetation history and man's interference. In addition freshwater algae play to tell the lake environments.

  • In the current research, the free vibrational behavior of the FG nano-beams integrated in the hygro-thermal environment and reposed on the elastic foundation is investigated using a novel integral Timoshenko beam theory (ITBT). The current model has only three variables unknown and requires the introduction of the shear correction factor because her uniformed variation of the shear stress through the thickness. The effective properties of the nano-beam vary according to power-law and symmetric sigmoid distributions. Three models of the hygro-thermal loading are employed. The effect of the small scale effect is considered by using the nonlocal theory of Eringen. The equations of motion of the present model are determined and resolved via Hamilton principle and Navier method, respectively. Several numerical results are presented thereafter to illustrate the accuracy and efficiency of the actual integral Timoshenko beam theory. The effects of the various parameters influencing the vibrational responses of the P-FG and SS-FG nano-beam are also examined and discussed in detail.
