  • This paper is simulated overall composition of permanent magnet synchronous motor using Simulink in Matlab. In general permanent magnet synchronous motor drive system, SVPWM method is usually adopted. The simulation results in this paper show the speed and torque characteristics of PMSM with motor drive which is modulated by SVPWM. Through this simulation, it can be possible to verify the component which affects the torque and speed control causing the SVPWM.

The main purpose of this combined test is to verify the performance of the traction system that is designed to operate up to maximum 350km/h speed. Combined test system consists of a traction transformer, two AC-DC PWM converters, a PWM Inverter, two traction motors and flywheel system. Flywheel system represents equivalent model of the train inertia. Also traction control system and MASCON Interfaces are included. Various kinds of experiments are performed to prove total traction system performance and detail waveforms are described

  • This case study refers to resonance with vertical pumps. Vibration problem occurring after the inverter was installed for speed control. Its problem was appeared any revolution under rated speed. Vibration data was acquired during normal operation and transient state. We examined FRF on its resonance in field and also analyzed a result by finite element method. There was carried out the retrofit in field which was based on these results for solving problem.

  • In this paper, a controller design for coreless linear synchronous motor is proposed. The designed controller is mainly composed of speed and current control, which are carried out by the high-speed digital signal processor(DSP). In addition the PWM inverter is controlled by space voltage PWM method. This system is implemented using by 32-bit DSP(TMS320C31), a high-integrated logic device(EPM940), and IPM(Intelligent Power Modules) for compact and powerful system design. The experimental results show the effective performance of controller for coreless linear synchronous motor.

  • This study proposes a re-adhesion algorithm that has stable traction effort for rolling stock slip/slide minimization when deliverable traction decreases by slip. The proposed scheme estimates appropriate reference speed using two encoders for reducing slip and controls traction effort stably and has stable control characteristics for disturbance. The algorithm which uses the maximum adhesive effort by instantaneous estimation of adhesion force stably controls traction effort and gives rolling stock excellent acceleration and deceleration characteristics. And a slip sensing element that can quickly detect slip is used. Load motor and inverter were checked in various slip conditions for creating various line conditions.

  • This paper deals with the vector control that control of torque and speed of the induction motor using field-oriented control method. Rotor flux is estimated using the indirect sensing method based on the rotor circuit equation in the synchronously rotation reference frame, and slip angle and rotor position are caculated from rotor angular velocity and stator current. Through modeling and digital simulation with a voltage source inverter, it is shown that the proposed scheme gives good static and dynamic performance to the induction motor drive.

  • For technical and economic reasons, the drum drive system employed in the domestic waking machines have traditionally been based on a combination of a high speed induction motor and a pulley and belt. This paper deals with washing machine drive based on an inverter fed induction motor. In this case, voltage is applied in proportion to frequency to achieve rated torque though the range. But scalar control such as V/f methode is somewhat simple to implement, but the inherent coupling effect given sluggish response. Therefore, this paper describes study on induction motor vector control for drum type washing machine.

  • This paper attempts to design and present a comparison of classical Direct Torque Flux Control (DTFC) for Line-Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (LSPMSM) and its equal Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). In order to present an in-depth analysis, both motors for DTFC Voltage Source Inverter (VSI)-fed in the same situations of different conditions are simulated and tested. The advantages of the proposed method for LSPMSM over the PMSM are discussed and analyzed.

  • This paper presents a comparative study of position sensorless control schemes based on back-electromotive force (back-EMF) estimation in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). The characteristics of the estimated back-EMF signals are analyzed using various mathematical models of a PMSM. The transfer functions of the estimators, based on the extended EMF model in the rotor reference frame, are derived to show their similarity. They are then used for the analysis of the effects of both the motor parameter variations and the voltage errors due to inverter nonlinearity on the accuracy of the back-EMF estimation. The differences between a phase-locked-loop (PLL) type estimator and a Luenberger observer type estimator, generally used for extracting rotor speed and position information from estimated back-EMF signals, are also examined. An experimental study with a 250-W interior-permanent-magnet machine has been performed to validate the analyses.
