  • This paper analyzes the customer behavior on high efficiency inverter program from three angles, that is, rebates, electricity rates and the cost of measures. After deregulation, the importance of high efficiency DSM programs has been more and more increased. Especially, the inverter program is one of the most high efficiency DSM program, so it is needed the policy to promote the inverter program diffusion.

  • The Auxiliary Inverter supply the power to Loads of Electric Locomotive. The Auxiliary Inverter have three characteristics. First, The Auxiliary Inverter is VVVF(variable voltage variable frequency) inverter. And, the output voltage is AC $0^{\sim}440V$. Second, The Auxiliary Inverter is controled all operations by CCU(Center Control Unit). Last, The Auxiliary Inverter have the SIBMON program. This program easily displays most of all status of auxiliary inverter.

  • This paper analyzes the customer behavior on high efficiency inverter program in terms of rebate levels. The importance of high efficiency DSM programs has been more and more increased after deregulation. Especially, the inverter program is one of the most high efficiency DSM programs, so this paper presents proper rebate levels in terms of both participants and non-participants to promote diffusion of the inverters.

  • The impact evaluation of a DSM program is a very important issue since the results are used to determine the sustainability of a program. In general. to estimate the impacts of a DSM program it is required to measure the electricity usage changes before and after a program. Since the measurement-based approaches cost highly, most of the conventional evaluations are based on the average figures. However estimation of the average-based impacts can lead to both distorted results of over/under estimation of kW and kWh savings and non-optimal DSM planning. In this paper, we have developed a new multi-point measurement approach which can evaluate kW and kWh savings of a DSM program more exactly. To do this, the saving rate and operating rate are defined and set as the function of load factor of a customer, and these rates are incorporated with the conventional diffusion function of Bass to project the future impacts of a DSM program. The case study is performed on the inverter program of Korea by using the suggested approach.

  • The backlight inverter used in a laptop computer is investigated in this paper. It has been difficult for the electromagnetic transformer in the inverter to have a high efficiency and compact profile. In this study the piezoelectric transformer(PT) is used to reduce the loss and volume compared to the standard electromagnetic transformer. Comparison with the experimental inverter with the PT has been shown to validated the simulation program using the equivalent circuit model of the PT. A simple dimming control circuit was experimentally demonstrated and shown to have broad control.

  • This paper proposes an analysis of an inverter circuit which has an induction heating load. Two major kinds of the inverters are E-class quasi resonant and half-bridge type. The analyses of induction heating load property and operation property are introduced. A simulation program which implements those properties is also introduced. The results of the simulation program are verified through experimental results.

  • In case of heat exchangers operating under frosting condition, the thermal resistance and the air-side pressure loss increase with a growth of frost layer. In this paper, a transient characteristic prediction model of the heat transfer for a multi-inverter heat pump with frosting on its surface was presented by taking into account the change of the fin efficiency due to the growth of the frost layer. This dynamic simulation program was developed for a basic air conditioning system composed of an evaporator, a condenser, a compressor, a linear electronic expansion valve, and a bypass circuit. The theoretical model was derived from measured heat transfer and mass transfer coefficients. We also considered that the heat transfer performance was only affected by the decrease of wind flow area. The calculated results were compared with the experimental results for frosting conditions.
