- The Credible Design Method for Solving Engineering Problems using TRIZ and Brainstorming - (TRIZ와 브레인스토밍을 이용한 신뢰성 있는 공학설계 방법)

  • Most of people who are engaged in research and development find it difficult to solve the engineering problems creatively due to the lack of ideas. There are two famous methods for inventive problem solving' 'Brainstorming' and 'TRIZ'. Brainstorming is the most popular tool until now to find a creative solution and TRIZ is not so popular yet but leads us to a very useful and clear solution. These two methods whose goals are the same usually take quite different routes to the final solution; Those routes have their own unique advantages and disadvantages. In this paper, a creative problem solving method optimized by correlating Brainstorming and TRIZ is proposed. And this method demonstrates how rough initial ideas can be quickly refined and how a problem can be solved correctly.

  • This study is analyse method for Industrial disester prevention of E-9 foreign workers. To do this, We adapted tp TRIZ 's creative problem solving theory and AHP, QFD. TRIZ is determined some parameters for problem solving and selected the inventive principles for each parameters. So, We made new parameters and inventive principles under theory of the TRIZ process for reduced to the foreign worker's disaster rate. After, The derived parameters and the inventive principles are used to evaluate the importance of factors through the AHP, and determine the weight of the relation through QFD expansion. Finally. this paper applies statistical data according to the determined model process, analyzes the result and proposes improvement method for the prevention of disaster of foreign workers.

  • The flexible mathematical thinking - the ability to generate and connect various representations of concepts - is useful in understanding mathematical structure and variation in problem solving. In particular, the flexible mathematical thinking with the inventive mathematical thinking, the original mathematical problem solving ability and the mathematical invention is a core concept, which must be emphasized in all branches of mathematical education. In this paper, the author considered a case of flexible mathematical thinking with an inventive problem solving ability shown by his student via real analysis courses. The case is on the proofs of the equivalences of three different definitions on the concept of limit superior shown in three different real analysis books. Proving the equivalences of the three definitions, the student tried to keep the flexible mathematical thinking steadily.

  • This paper describes the development process of mosquito trap with the effect of air cleaning by using the substance-field analysis and evolution pattern of systems in the theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ).   • Traditionally engineers' main roles are concentrated on solving any given problems and engineering education has emphasized problem solving ability. Therefore engineers intend to solve easily perceived problems with their knowledge and experience instead of trying to analyze the given problems thoroughly and to define real problems, and go through lots of trial and error. So, engineers require the ability to define real problems accurately before trying to solve the problems. This study proposes a real problem definition process using visualization of a core zone and TRIZ concepts such as contradictions and IFR(Ideal Final Result) in order to define real problems with minimum trial and error. TRIZ is the theory of inventive problem solving and was developed by a Soviet engineer and researcher Genrich Altshuller from 1946. Nowadays many industries use TRIZ and its effectiveness was already proved by lots of real problem solving in various areas. Therefore TRIZ might be very effective tool for developing students' inventive thinking ability in engineering education.

  • The purpose of this study was to reform the existing state of educational program for invention by TRIZ, theory of inventive problem solving. Major findings of the study were follows : First, students had a chance to get a inventive solution from the problem they were inventing. Second, the new educational program for invention was developed according to the procedures on the standpoint of pedagogy with the TRIZ. Third, according to the survey of the new educational program for invention has found that as follows: -Students were of help to know the invention, to be beneficial, but the basic concepts of TRIZ were not easy to them. -Student wished to advice their colleague the new program for invention, because they had chances to overcome a fixed idea, extend creativity and think. Fourth, TRIZ, the systematic method of problem solving for invention, provide students with the thinking method to overcome fixed ideas and the tool of knowledge.

  • Existing science education that excludes narrative thinking impedes the understanding of the context of workbook content. The object of this research is to develop a storytelling-learning program based on narrative thinking to elevate learners' interest in science and expand their inventive problem-solving abilities. Following an analysis of the current Korean curriculum, eight types of storytelling materials that utilize local content were developed for grades 7-9. The learning program used quest storytelling and was designed such that learning activities such as investigation, discussion, and experimentation were included in the process of solving each quest. Learners experienced an interest in storytelling learning resulting from participation in this storytelling-learning program. Moreover, learners demonstrated inventive problem-solving abilities in the process of completing the stories. During the process of assembling the storytelling materials, the students interacted with enthusiasm and generated ideas. The teachers indicated a positive feedback to the storytelling program as a new attempt to stimulate learners' interests. In the future, with continuous development and application, storytelling-science-learning programs that base science learning on narrative thinking are expected to be successful.

  • This paper introduces TRIZ. TRIZ is the theory of inventive problem solving which haws started by G.Altschuler since 1946, Russia. TRIZ is applicable for not only mechanical engineering, but also science, economic and pedagogy fields. Characteristics of some kind of softwares for TRIZ method are briefly reviewed Especially Catia with IMC TechOptimizer is studied in detail and it is expected to be applicable well for the Ocean Engineering fields, if applicably applied for IM-Principles, IM-Predictions and IM-Effects, even though it will need much efforts and time to study. As an application example of TRIZ, Self-expandable anchor which is pending for patent is presented briefly.
