This study aims to find out various users' diverse interior design needs for their housing and interior design through the personality, which is intrinsic and consistent traits of the individual. The survey research followed the literature reviews including personality studies and interior design assessments. 176 undergraduate and graduate students as controlled by age, sex, and major answered the questionnaire. Their housing and interior design attitudes, the semiotic assessment of interior design styles, and interior design preference were compared in accordance with four pairs of preference dichotomy of MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator): Extraversion -Introversion, Sensing-iNtuition, Thinking-Feeling, Judging-Perceiving. As a result, the framework of housing and interior design needs by the users' personality types are proposed. It shows specific needs for 16 types of personality based on eight preference dichotomy: extroversion-open, introversion-closed, sensing-functional, intuition-emotional, thinking-restricted, feeling-receptive, judging-simple, and perceiving-creative.

Upon the needs to draw the judicial elements of creativity in the copyrighted character designs, this paper aims to draw and categorize the elements based on the analysis of preceding court decisions. The results are as follows: the form of body, the features in its face and its composition, the overall image, the degree of personification, and aesthetic sensation. These elements reflect formative skills required to portray the intrinsic quality of a character. This paper is of significant interest in that it suggested the legal basis and elements of creativity in character design to professionals in both areas of design and judicial decisions.

최근 바둑에 대한 관심이 급증함에 따라 바둑에 관련된 연구가 많이 진행되고 있다. 바둑에 관련된 연구가 진행 되기 위해서는 많은 양의 바둑 데이터를 취득할 필요가 있다. 바둑 데이터 중 아직도 사람의 도움없이 취득하기 어려운 데이터로는 대표적으로 기보 데이터가 있다. 따라서 기보를 자동으로 저장하는 연구가 활발하게 진행 되고 있다. 기보를 자동으로 저장하는 연구 중 바둑돌이 착수될 위치를 예측하여 기보를 저장하는 시스템은 카메라의 정보를 취득하는 것으로부터 시작된다. 많은 양의 데이터를 수집하기 위해서는 일반 사용자가 사용할 수 있는 어플리케이션의 역할이 중요하다. 하지만 카메라의 정보를 취득하는 것은 어플리케이션의 환경을 구축하는데 어려움을 야기한다. 따라서 본 논문은 어플리케이션의 환경 구축 문제점인 카메라의 정보를 바둑판 최 외각 네 끝점과 비교적 간단한 방법으로 예측하는 방법을 제안한다.

줌렌즈 카메라 보정은 매우 중요하고 적어도 두 가지 면에서 어려운 문제이다. 첫 번째는 실시간의 변화에 따라 카메라 내부 파라미터의 보정이고 두번째는 단일 렌즈 시스템의 핀홀모델은 줌렌즈시스템이 바로 적용하기가 어렵다. 그래서 이 논문에서는 이러한 문제의 일부분을 렌즈의 굴절현상, 초점 거리의 보정과 모델링, 확대에 관한 중요한 원리들뿐만 아니라 실제적으로 유용한 부분들을 기술하였다. 컴퓨터에 의해 제어되는 줌, 초점, 그리고 구경들의 실험결과가 제시되어있다.

The product evaluation and purchasing behavior of US brand jeans have been studied. The intrinsic and extrinsic cues are usually adopted to interpret the purchasing decison making processes. Among extrinsic cues price and brand name have been studied exten-sively but country-of-origin has not been examined in Korea. With the liberalization of retail industry foreign brands are aggressively penetrating in Korean pparel market. Since the penetration of imported apparel has increased tremendously lately the consumer attitude toward foreign produced clothing has great importance. The findings of the study were 1) Price was the most important among extrinsic cues ex-cept quality. Brand name was more important than store and country-of-origin. 2) The country image had significant influence to the preference as apparel production country. 3) The evaluation and willingness to buy of the jeans were greatly influenced by the be-havioral charcteristics of consumer variables. 4) The model to predict the willingness to buy of the jeans has been developed.

We carried out photometric and spectroscopic observatious of the blue compact dwarf galaxy Haro 6 in the Virgo Cluster of Galaxies. The long-slit spectroscopy was employed at three position angles, $\Phi$=$0^{\circ}$, $\Phi$=$30^{\circ}$, and $\Phi$=$120^{\circ}$with CCD camera mounted on the Cassegrain Spectrograph. Based on the mean intrinsic axial ratio < $q_0$ >=0.3, we derived inclination I of the system as $44^{\circ}$using our composite V-band CCD image. Careful analysis on the velocity field of the system shows an asymptotically fiat rotation curve with the maximum rotational velocity $V(r)_{max}$ reaches about 12km/sec. The calculation of the dynamical mass of Haro 6 with a simple mass model is briefly discussed with emphasis on the mass to luminosity ratio. From the IRAS Point Source Cataloque, we derived dust-to-gas ratio which indicates relatively low dust content, thus tempting us to conjecture the youth of the system.

Extrapolation off the boundaries of scattered data is an intrinsic feature of interpolation. However, extrapolation causes serious problems in stereo-vision and mapping, which has not been investigated carefully. In this paper, we present novel schemes to eliminate the extrapolation effects for the generation of a digital elevation model (DEM). As a first step, we devise point distribution criteria, namely COG (Center of Gravity) and ECI (Empty Center Index), and apply rigorous and robust elimination based on the criteria. Compared with other methods, the proposed schemes are computationally fast and applicable to a wide range of interpolation techniques.

A series of tetra donor substituted [2.2]paracyclophane-based two-photon absorption (TPA) fluorophores were synthesized in neutral and cationic forms. The imaging activity of overall set of fluorophores was studied by the two-photon induced fluorescence (TPIF) method in a range of solvents. We also measured a clear progression toward a longer photoluminescence lifetime with increasing solvent polarity (intrinsic photoluminescence lifetime, τi: ~2 ns in toluene → 12-16 ns in water). The paracyclophane fluorophores with this unique property can be utilized as an optical polarity probe for the biomolecular substrates. The combined measurement of the two-photon fluorescence microscopy (TPM) cell image and TPIF lifetime can give us a better understanding of the biological processes and local environments in the cells.

This paper describes a hierarchical method for image-based age estimation that combines age group classification and age value estimation. The proposed method uses a coarse-to-fine strategy with different appearance features to describe facial shape and texture. Considering the damage to continuity between neighboring groups caused by fixed divisions during age group classification, a dynamic grouping technique is employed to allow non-fixed groups. Based on the given group, an ordinal hyperplane ranking (OHRank) model is employed to transform age estimation into a series of binary enquiry problems that can take advantage of the intrinsic correlation and ordinal information of age. A set of experiments on FG-NET are presented and the results demonstrate the validity of our solution.

Ultrasonic sensors have been widely used to recognize the working environment for a mobile robot. However, their intrinsic problems, such as specular reflection, wide beam angle, and slow propagation velocity, require an excessive number of sensors to be integrated for achieving the sensing goal. This paper proposes a new measurement scheme which uses only two sets of ultrasonic sensors to determine the location and the type of a target surface. By measuring the time difference between the returned signals from the target surface, which are generated by two transmitters with 1 ㎳ difference, it classifies the type and determines the size of the target surface. Since the proposed sensor system uses only two sets of ultrasonic sensors to recognize and localize the target surface, it significantly simplifies the sensing system and reduces the signal processing time so that the working environment can be recognized in real time.
