Development of Contact System in 460[V]/225[A]/50[kA] Molded Case Circuit Breaker (460[V]/225[A]/50[kA] 한류형 배선용 차단기 소호부 개발)

  • Low voltage circuit breakers which interrupt rapidly and raise the reliability of power supply are widely used in power distribution systems. In the paper, it has been investigated how much interrupting capability is improved by correcting the shape of the contact system in molded case circuit breaker(below MCCB), especially arc runner. Prior to the interrupting testing, it is necessary for the optimum design to analyze electromagnetic forces on the contact system generated by current and flux density. This paper presents both our computational analysis and test results on contact system in MCCB.

  • Magnetic flux saturation dependent on phase of initial input power to high voltage transformer used in Micro wave oven. To limit inrush current high voltage transformer the relay contact should be ˝ON˝ when the lowest point of input voltage phase. The improved circuit is form compensating interrupt signal Micom input so the relay contact can be ˝ON˝ when the inrush current is lower. Test results are presented that improved circuit satisfies the limit 50[A] of requirement for input voltage variation mode. And the result verified by statistical method.

  • Arc Fault is an electric discharge which is occurred in two opposite electrode. In this paper, AFCI(arc fault circuit interrupter) is designed for the interruption of arc fault current which is occurred in the local electric network. This arc is one of the main causes of electric fire. Arc fault in electrical network has the characteristics of low current, high impedance and high frequency. Conventional interrupter does not have the arc current interrupt function. Hence, Arc fault circuit interrupter controller is designed for the interruption of arc fault current which has the modified arc characteristics.

  • The adaptation to vector control theory is so generalized that it is widely used for implementing the high-performance of AC machine. Nowadays, One-Chip microprocessors or DSP chips are being well-used to implement Vector Control algorithm. DSP Chip have less flexibility for memory decoding and I/O rather than One-Chip microprocessor so that is requires more additional circuit and high cost. And the past One-Chip micro processors have difficult of implementation the complex algorithm because of small memory capacity and low arithmetic performance. Therefore we implemented the vector control algorithm of PMSM(Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motors) using 80296SA form intel , which have many features as 6M memory space, 500MHz clock frequency, including memory decoding circuit and general I/O, Special I/O(EPA, Interrupt controller, Timer/Count, PWM generator) which is proper controller for the complex algorithm or operation program requiring so much memory capacity, So in this paper we fully digitized the vector control of PMSM included SVPWM Voltage controller using the intel 80296SA

  • This paper describes a low frequency electrical nerve stimulator for muscle care. The developed system consist of 8bit low power consumed MPU, voltage boosting circuit converting 9V input to 120V output, repairing circuit for distorted output pulse, LED and buttons for I/O, and electro-chemical pad. The pulse generation algorithm for the muscle care effect is developed with basic pulses such as a single phase rectangle pulse, symmetric rectangle pulse, and depolarized interrupt pulse.

  • This paper presents the basic design technology on the hybrid type GCB(gas circuit breakers) through the test results. The three type hybrid interrupters according to the arrangement of the thermal expansion chamber and the puffer cylinder(they are called 'serial type', ' parallel/exchanged type ,' and ' parallel/separated type ' respectively in this work) were designed and manufactured and then the tests of operating characteristics and interrupting were performed using a simplified synthetic test facility. The interruption capability with the type and the opening speed and the pressure rise which is required to interrupt were examined. The change of pressure rise with the number of interruption was given quantitatively and therefore the pressure rise can be predicted. Finally, it was shown that the interruption capability tends to increase with the increasing of opening speed in the puffer type; however, the hybrid type interrupter has a different interruption characteristic.

  • To design the Molded Case Circuit Breaker(MCCB) requires electromagnetic analysis in contact system when the circuit breakers interrupt fault currents. This paper has made sure that there are two ways increasing arc driving force, one is a change of contact point and the other way inserts additionally the magnetic plate. Finally, we have carried out the analysis of eddy current to identify a decrease of arc driving force because of fault currents. In this paper, MCCB models have been analyzed base on 3D-FEM by Maxwell program.

Development of an Earth Leakage Breaker Operating by Resistive Leakage Current using a Resetable Integrator (적분기를 이용한 저항성 누전전류 작동방식 누전차단기 개발)

  • The former earth leakage breaker is operating by total leakage current which is the vector-sum of resistive leakage current and capacitive leakage current. However, the electric disaster like the electric shock and fire is caused mainly by resistive leakage current. Therefore, the earth leakage breaker is ideal when it is operating by resistive leakage current. In this paper, the theory for finding the component of resistive leakage current from total leakage current is suggested and it is embodied to actual circuit. The resistive leakage current can be found by integrating the total leakage current during half cycle of line voltage. Thus, we can simply find resistive leakage current by using OP-AMP integrators, and we can confirm that the resistive leakage current is computed exactly from total leakage current obtained by resistive leakage current and capacitive leakage current. The results that the earth leakage breaker is operating within regular interrupt time are verified when the former earth leakage breaker's controller circuit is replaced by the proposed controller circuit.
