A Real-time Interrupt Handling Scheme for Efficient Sensor Operating Systems (효율적인 센서 운영체제를 위한 실시간 인터럽트 처리 기법)

  • A new application area in which wireless sensor networks are applied requires the performance of more elaborated and complicated task and the completion of those tasks within a time limit. Until now, it is, however, insufficient to do research on the mechanism of handling interrupt based on real-time sensor operating systems which carefully consider the limitation of resources of sensor nodes and the property of tasks which is executed in a wireless sensor network area. In this paper, the requirements satisfying real-time in sensor operating systems are analyzed and based on this, a system is designed and implemented. In addition, the proposed mechanisms are confirmed by several verification methods, and the efficiency of the performance and the satisfaction of those requirements for real-time are verified by simulation.

  • Recently, there have been Increasing demands for high power factor and low harmonic distortion in the current drawn from utility. The harmonic limits imposed by international standards. It need the PFC techniques in order to reduce line current harmonics and comply with the standards. The average current control method that is the most proper PFC control method in a switching power supply of middle and high power has been used mostly to PFC control method. However, the switching device of PFC circuit has frequently destructed at power return after instantaneous power interrupt. Therefore, this paper have verified the cause of this problems and proposed the solution through simulation and experiment

  • For the convenient use of high performance microprocessor in motor control, peripheral devices are needed for converting its control signals to compatible ones for motor drive. Customized devices are not plentiful far these purposes and their functions do not usually satisfied designers specification. The designers used to implement these functions on FPGA or CPLD using hardware description language. Then, in this case unessential programs are needed for control the peripherals. In this paper, a unified device model that links peripheral devices, including especially the pulse width modulation controller and the quadrature encoder interface device, to an interrupt controller is proposed. Advanced functions of peripherals could be achieved by this model and unessential programs can be simplified. Block diagrams and flowcharts are presented to illustrate the advanced functions. This unified device was designed using VHDL. The simulation results were presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

  • In this paper, we proposed small scale real-time operating system for embedded system. Real-time system is characterized by the severe consequences that result if logical as well as timing correctness properties of system are not met. On real-time system, real-time operating system allows real-time applications to be designed and expanded easily. Functions can be added without requiring major changes to the software. We design small scale real-time operating system for preemptive kernel, and design kernel component such as multitasking, scheduler, task priority, semaphore, inter-task communication, clock tick timer, ISR(Interrupt Service Routine) mechanism has low interrupt latency.

  • 최근 들어 IBM 호환 PC의 성능이 급속도로 향상됨에 따라 이를 기반으로 하는 실시간 시스템의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이는 기존의 실시간 제어 시스템이 특별하게 설계된 하드웨어를 요구하는 것에 반해 널리 사용되는 하드웨어를 이용함으로써 응용 프로그램의 이식성을 높여 주는 큰 장점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 PC클 실시간 시스템으로 개발하게 위해서는 PC에서의 실시간 분석이 선행 되어야 한다. 실시간 시스템들 위한 중요한 요소는 인터럽트가 발생 하였을 때 바른 시간에 인터럽트 핸들러를 불러 주는 것이다. 즉, 인터럽트 발생에서 인터럽트 핸들러가 불리기까지의 시간인 인터럽트지연(interrupt latency) 시간이 짧아야 한다. 따라서, 논문에서는 실시간 시스템의 성능에 영향을 주는 인터럽트 지연을 측정하고, 이를 통하여 PC에서의 인터럽트 특성 및 실시관성을 분석한다.

  • 본 논문은 무선 센서 네트워크 플랫폼을 이용한 어플리케이션 개발 과정에서 비규칙적인 센싱 데이터의 획득 후 빠른 시간 내에 이를 전송하기 위한 효율적인 방법에 대한 고찰에서 시작되었다. 개발과정에서 진동 센서를 채택하여 이원화된 메시지 전송 프로세스를 구현하였다. 즉, 진동센서의 불규칙 센싱 완료 인터럽트 발생에 따른 메시지 전송 프로세스와 타이머에 의한 주기적인 진동 센싱 및 메시지 전송 프로세스로 동작할 수 있는 방법을 구현하였다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 인터럽트 기반의 센싱 데이터 전송방법과 주기적인 센싱 데이터 전송방법에 대한 비교 분석을 통해 반응속도 측면에서 인터럽트 기반의 센싱 데이터 전송 방법이 더욱 효율적인 데이터 전송 프로세스임을 보여주고자 한다.

  • In this paper we propose a controllable interrupt timer for haptic control system. haptic control system whihc was divided ito two processes as virtual environment(VE) manager and haptic controller. The VE manager displays the 3D graphic scene at low update rates 25Hz and haptic controller controls the haptic display at high update rates 1000Hz. To archive the accurate update rate we have imple-mented a timer so called "AaccTimer" based on Windows multimedia functions, The proposed "Acc Timer" for haptic control system has been imple- mented in a personal computer with a 6-DOF haptic interface. Experimental results show that our system is robust with respect to tolerances in the control rates and also through the accurate control rate the operator can always feel a stable force.feel a stable force.

Declining Temperature Multistage Deformation Behavior of Nb-Microalloyed Structural Steel (Nb 첨가 구조용강의 감온단속변형)

  • Multistage deformation behavior of Nb-microalloyed steel and carbon steel was studied by torsion test with declining temperature T, constant pass strain $\varepsilon_i$, interrupt time $(t_i)$, and varying strain rate $(\.{\varepsilon})$. In the range of $1000^{\circ}C~790^{\circ}C$ and 4.00/sec~0.38/sec, the flow stress at each pass was correlated to the deformation variables. As the finished deformation temperatures are decreased to the range of $790^{\circ}C~900^{\circ}C$, Nb precipitates play an important role on the grain refinement of Nb-microalloyed steel. the flow stress of Nb-microalloyed steel was higher than the carbon steel's while the grain size of Nb-microalloyed steel was smaller than carbon steel below the temperature of $900^{\circ}C$.

  • this paper describes the design and implementation of a RISC processor for embedded control systems. This RISC processor integrates a register file, a pipelined execution unit, a FPU interface, a memory interface, and an instruction prefetcher. Its characteristics include both single cycle executions of most instructions in a 2 phase 20 MHz frequency and the worst case interrupt latency of 7 cycles with the vectored interrupt handling that makes it possible to be applicable to the real time processing system. For efficient handling of multi-cycle instructions, data stationary hardwired control scheme equippedwith cycle counter was used. This chip integrates about 139K transistors and occupies 9.1mm$\times$9.1mm in a 1.0um DLM CMOS technology. The power dissipation is 0.8 Watts from a 5V supply at 20 MHz operation.
