Purpose: This study is descriptive research aiming to identify factors influencing the stigma experienced by college students with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), focusing on COVID-19 pandemic stress, depression, and fear of negative evaluation as the main variables. Methods: An online survey was administered to 175 college students who had been diagnosed with COVID-19 from January to May 2022 and were enrolled in universities in Seoul, Cheongju, and Daegu, South Korea. The survey collected data on pandemic stress, depression, fear of negative evaluation, and stigma. The data were analyzed using the t-test, ANOVA, the Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression in SPSS/WIN 26.0. Results: We analyzed differences in stigma scores based on general characteristics of the college students and found significant differences in stigma scores by age, major satisfaction, interpersonal satisfaction, date of COVID-19 confirmation, treatment modality, and recent subjective health condition. Factors influencing stigmatization were identified as COVID-19 pandemic stress, depression, date of COVID-19 confirmation, treatment modality, recent subjective health condition, and major satisfaction, with an overall explanatory power of 37.6%. Conclusion: This study is significant as it identifies emotional changes across various aspects of pandemic stress, depression, fear of negative evaluation, and stigma among college students who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. The findings of this study suggest the development of programs to reduce psychological distress and enhance mental health management skills among these students.
Purpose: This study seeks to address the following research questions: (1) What are the fundamental principles of sports psychology that can be applied to business leadership? (2) How can these principles enhance business leadership effectiveness? As a result, the study may evaluate the necessity and benefits of incorporating sports psychology principles into business leadership practices. Research design, data and methodology: The data collection process in this study involved a systematic Literature review approach, following the prior literature analysis guidelines by numerous past studies. This methodical approach to selecting articles can be useful in synthesizing existing literature and can be referred to as Literature review and selection. Results: The literature analysis has indicated that there is much support for assumptions underpinning business leadership modules, which can be enhanced by applying sports psychology. This topic discusses the traits of self-positivity and mental toughness, goal perspective and interpersonal relationships within a team, and visualization in a sporting organization that can be implemented in business management to support organizational performance. Conclusions: All in all, it can be concluded that organizations must consider adopting Sports Psychology principles into their Leadership Development Programs. This study examined the influence of problem solving ability, communication skill and self-efficacy on clinical competence of nursing students. The research subjects were 184 grade 4 nursing students in D and G city. Data were collected from September 1 to September 10, 2016 and analyzed by independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and stepwise multiple regression using the IBM SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. The results showed that the problem solving ability was 3.60, communication skill was 3.79, and self-efficacy was 3.45. The clinical competence was positively correlated with problem solving ability, communication skill and self-efficacy. Problem solving ability (${\beta}=0.283$, p<0.001), self-efficacy (${\beta}=0.249$, p<0.001), motivation for nursing (${\beta}=0.182$, p=0.002), communication skills (${\beta}=0.176$, p=0.016), and interpersonal relationships (${\beta}=0.101$, p=0.082) explained 42.8% of the total variance in clinical competence of nursing students. The most significant predictors of clinical competence were problem solving ability, followed by self-efficacy and communication skills. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an empowerment program to improve problem solving ability, self-efficacy and communication skills of nursing students.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of interventions for improving the social skills for people with schizophrenia by using method of meta-analysis. For the purpose of the study, master's theses, doctoral dissertations, and journal articles published in korea up to July, 2013 were systematically reviewed. As a result, a total of 22 studies were eligible for the inclusion criteria. The mean effect sizes and test for homogeneity of effect size(Q-statistic) were analyzed by using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software 2.0. The main findings of the study were as follows. First, the average effect sizes for total social skill training programs were ES=0.838 of interpersonal capacity, ES=0.782 of social behavioral skills, ES=0.601 of self-assertiveness skills, and ES=0.293 of symptoms. Second, by analysing the moderate variables of the effect size for social skill training programs, 'a place of training', 'a major of trainer', 'running times' and 'sessions' were statistically significant. Based on the study results, the research and practice implications were discussed.

The health care environment becomes more competitive every day. It has fallen to nurse managers - from vice presidents of patient care to nurse managers and their assistants - to recruit and develop a workforce that successfully meets the needs of both patients and the organization. This means employees who demonstrate advanced critical thinking skills, creative problem solving, and sound decision making skills combined with clinical skills and patient advocacy. The environment which nurse managers create and the way they relate to their workforce, are pivotal to organizational viability. Especially leadership of first -line nurse managers contributes to the success of their organizations. First-line nurse managers are deserved to be one of the most administrative supervisors through the middle stratum in a hospital organization as being a manager in the field service if assessed from the overall aspects of hospital, as being an interim managers in the nursing department as well as being a supreme supervisor in a unit in terms of an organizational structure in the hospital. Similarly, as a compete leader, the first-line nurse managers have not only a professional which is qualified to perform a role of appropriate coordination with medical staff and key personnel but also hold an important key position a being responsible for performing his or her given role. The first-line nurse manager is expected to manage human and fiscal resources in ways not required before. While an identified need for well-prepared first-line nurse manager continues to plague the profession, first-line nurse managers often have difficulty providing the leadership required. The need leadership training to function effectively in their positions. But we hardly find a useful leadership training program for first-line nurse managers, therefore the purpose of this study was to developed the leadership training program for them. The steps of leadership program development were below: 1st step, 2 studies were done before develop a leadership program. One was done to ask to first-line nurse managers what they want to learn through leadership training, the other one was to ask the staff nurses what their opinions are for their first-line nurse managers leadership. 2nd step was searching other leadership programs contents. The results of this study were below: The total amount of hours is 24. Leadership training program contents are : Future of nursing profession (210min), understanding basic factor's of leadership and leadership theories(310 min), self understanding as first- line nurse managers(320 min), basic principle and practice of interpersonal relationship(210 min), assertiveness training, conflict management (180min), and group study(210min). This is challenging time to be a leader, especially in nursing. As nurse managers look toward the new millennium, it seems as through the same struggles are ahead that are behind. So nurse managers need to embrace change with a positive attitude. They need to demonstrate risk taking and support it in their staffs. All these things are possible that after they participate the leadership training program.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of individual characteristics of college students on the basic skills of the profession. The results of this study are as follows. First, the effect of personal characteristics of college students on self - development ability was significantly influenced by outward personality (.423) at p <.001 level. Second, introspective personality (p <.05, ${\beta}=.268$) and outward personality (p <.001, ${\beta}=5.862$) had a significant effect on the information ability and $R^2=.389$ showed an explanatory power of 38.9%. Third, personal characteristics did not have a statistically significant effect on interpersonal abilities. Fourth, personal characteristics are related to self - development ability and outward personality (.144), self - development ability and information ability (.201), self - development ability and introvert personality (.120) There is a correlation. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of job characteristics on the basic competence of the upper and lower group through the diagnosis of the basic competence of individual characteristics and to verify the effectiveness of the study.
The purpose of this study is to explore undergraduate students' self-growth experiences in a counseling skills training course. Participants of this study were seven students who completed the counseling skills course in a university. The analysis was done on the weekly reflective journals they had written during the course using Colaizzi's phenomenological qualitative method. As a result, 26 themes and 11 theme clusters which emerged: projecting oneself onto client, exploring interpersonal dynamics, approaching one's emotions, discovering oneself that he was not conscious of, examining connection between the present and the past, experiencing difficulties due to facing self, feeling concerned about performing a role as counselor, increasing growth motive, finding value of self-awareness, trying new actions, expanding acceptance of oneself and others. Likewise, undergraduate students were experiencing self-growth in a variety of aspects. This study has implications in that it shed a rich light on the self-growth of a counselor that has not received much attention so far. In the future, this study can be utilized in the development of holistic counseling training programs that would systematically facilitate counselors' self-growth.
In any military services, young leaders are superiors to another and the leaders must be equipped with not only command and control(C2) and management capabilities but with a skill set that addresses their service members' problems and hardships throughout a counseling approach. These young leaders other than regular professional counselors are wearing dual hats as a commander and a counselor to address their service member's issues. There are couple of hours to give a lecture about counseling during the basic training course, however, we noticed that there are some limitations to cover up the uniqueness of counseling during the course, since we cannot rule out the unique vertical situation within military system that runs by its hierarchy. Therefore, we developed education program in order to enhance commander's counseling skills, refined the program with thorough review and commentary by professions and military commanders, and provided 10 events of program to the young leaders. As a result, the leaders scored high on self-effectiveness, communication skills, and counseling development-level. If we adjust minor changes to the program, it will be the outstanding program to improve young leaders' counseling capability.
The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing the transfer of learning for nursing students in clinical practice. This study is a descriptive survey research conducted with 113 nursing students. Self-directed learning, motivation to transfer, and transfer of learning were measured. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, independent t-test, and ANOVA. The transfer of learning were significantly different according to the interpersonal relationship (t=10.43, p=.002), the satisfaction of nursing major (t=3.81, p=.006), satisfaction of nursing skills laboratory (t=4.61, p=.004). Transfer of learning had a correlation with self-directed learning, motivation (r=.46, p=<.001), and motivation to transfer (r=.60, p=<.001). In addition, motivation to transfer, the satisfaction of nursing skills laboratory, and learning evaluation were significant predictors of transfer of learning. Finally, in order to increase the transfer of learning for nursing students, nursing instructors need to encourage motivation to transfer, and to apply educational strategies that increase self-directed learning, as well as the satisfaction of the nursing skills laboratory.
For years, poor research and working conditions in the field of science and engineering in Korea led to the migration of gifted students to seek a better academic environment. The primary reason for such a phenomenon is the lack of a coherent education system for gifted students. With the support from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity, Hanyang University launched an exploring project to introduce an Honors Program, aiming to provide specialized and systematic learning opportunities as well as supporting greater academic achievements for gifted students at university-level. Students admitted to this program were selected not by conventional standards but by competency-based selection process, assessed through an in-depth interview. The specific goal of this program is to prepare gifted and talented students not only for an academic pioneer with the highest caliber in the field of science, but also for a global leader equipped with a creative view as well as integrity and a convergent mind. Distinctive features of this program include emphasis on fundamental science and consilience, problem solving skills, first-hand education, interpersonal skills, and global communication skills as well as individualization of the learning experience, among many others.
