계층적 프록시 캐쉬를 이용한 인터넷 성능 향상 기법 (Improving Performance of Internet by Using Hierarchical Proxy Cache)

  • Recently, as construction of information infra including high-speed communication networks remarkably expands, more various information services have been provided. Thus the number of internet users rapidly increases, and it results in heavy load on Web server and higher traffics on networks. The phenomena cause longer response time that means worse quality of service. To solve such problems, much effort has been attempted to loosen bottleneck on Web server, reduce traffic on networks and shorten response times by caching informations being accessed more frequently at the proxy server that is located near to clients. And it is also possible to improve internet performance further by allowing clients to share informations stored in proxy caches. In this paper, we perform simulations of hierarchical proxy caches with the 3-level 4-ary tree structure by using real web traces, and analyze cache hit ratio for various cache replacement policies and cache sizes when the delayed-store scheme is applied. According to simulation results, the delayed-store scheme increases the remote cache hit ratio, that improves quality of service by shortening the service response time.

  • This paper presents the implementation of an efficient car tracking system based on Inverted DGPS (IDGPS) using mobile phone and internet for data communication link. The IDGPS technique, which may provide the same level of accuracy as DGPS, is subject to degradation in real time applications when transmission time delays occur in the communication links. Therefore, an effective communication system is the key element for successful application of the IDGPS. The combination of internet and mobile phones provides a high data rate, unlimited communication packet size, flexible data structure, and wide coverage without additional communication devices. An implementation of such a data link system is described. Field test results are included to evaluate the performance of the proposed system.

Using Fuzzy Neural Network to Assess Network Video Quality

  • At present people have higher and higher requirements for network video quality, but video quality will be impaired by various factors, so video quality assessment has become more and more important. This paper focuses on the video quality assessment method using different fuzzy neural networks. Firstly, the main factors that impair the video quality are introduced, such as unit time jamming times, average pause time, blur degree and block effect. Secondly, two fuzzy neural network models are used to build the objective assessment method. By adjusting the network structure to optimize the assessment model, the objective assessment value of video quality is obtained. Meanwhile the advantages and disadvantages of the two models are analysed. Lastly, the proposed method is compared with many recent related assessment methods. This paper will give the experimental results and the detail of assessment process.

소프트웨어 기반 모바일 VoIP 서비스 품질 측정 (Software-based Quality Measurement of Mobile VoIP Services)

  • 스마트폰을 이용한 모바일 인터넷 전화 서비스의 사용이 급속도로 확산되고 있다. 기존의 전화망이나 이동 전화망을 통한 전화 서비스와는 달리 인터넷 전화는 서비스 품질이 보장될 수 없다는 문제점이 있고 특히 무선 환경을 통한 모바일 인터넷 전화 서비스의 경우 이 문제점은 더 심각해 질 수 있다. 따라서 모바일 인터넷 전화의 성공적인 정착과 활성화를 위해서는 보다 체계화된 철저한 품질 관리가 요구된다. 기존의 계측기를 이용한 측정 기반의 사후 품질 관리를 개선하기 위해서 본 논문에서는 서비스 이용자 단말에 설치되어 각종 품질 지표를 측정할 수 있는 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. 개발된 소프트웨어를 이용하면 모바일 음성 서비스의 품질을 상시적인 그리고 서비스 이용자의 능동적인 품질 측정이 가능하다는 장점이 있다.

  • In spreading an internet service and developing a network technology, The interest of study about the remote control system using web environment increased. In treatise, We describe a design and an implementation of the gateway system that is based 3-tier model using corba in middleware. This system is applicatble various system environment because of using middleware and overcome a time limit and range limit because of using web browser interface.

  • 최근 인터넷 사용의 저변 확대가 가속화되면서 사회적 측면에서의 컴퓨터 활용도가 급증하고 있다. 특히 다양한 자료를 다루는 설문조사 시스템은 많은 시간과 노력을 필요로 하기 때문에 컴퓨터를 이용한 자동화된 설문 시스템 도입의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 이에 따라 여론 수렴, 시장조사 등을 위한 설문조사 시스템의 개발이 독자적인 소프트웨어를 활용하거나 웹을 통한 온라인상에서 다각도로 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 형식을 지닌 설문 데이터를 처리하기 위해 XML과 QCL을 이용한 응답자 주도형 실시간 설문조사 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다.

  • 근래에 원격지 감시와 제어하는 기술이 발달하고 있다. 또한 홈 네트워크 서비스의 보편화와 초고속 통시망의 폭넓은 확대로 인하여 디지털 비디오 기술을 이용한 감시체계가 점차 늘어나고 있다. 웹에서 제공하던 감시 체계를 사용자가 좀 더 편리하게 사용할 수 있도록 기존의 웹을 기반으로 하던 디지털 감시 체계에 개인 단말기를 이용하여 사용자가 이동 중에도 인터넷이 되는 곳에서 이 모듈을 제어할 수 있도록 구현하였다.

청소년에서의 인터넷 중독 정도 조사 및 이에 따른 의사소통 유형과의 관계 (Relationship between Communication Stance and Characteristics of Internet Use)

  • Objectives : Internet became essential component in these days. This study primarily tried to find out the characteristics of high risk internet users through using the communication scale. Methods : We investigated levels of internet addiction using Internet Addiction Scale in 1,193 high school and middle school students. Participants were divided into 3 groups (high risk user group, potential risk user group, normal user group) according to the results from internet addiction scale. We additionally surveyed characteristics of internet use, and patterns of communication and Communication Scale based on Satir theory in 614 from 1,193 participants. Results : Boys showed higher tendencies for internet addiction than girls in internet addiction scale. There were significant differences in mean computer using time especially during weekends among 3 internet user groups. The distribution of communication types in each internet user group was similar and this finding coincided with previous study results. However high risk user group showed higher scores in each inadequate communication pattern such as placating, blaming, super-reasonable and irrelevant stance. Conclusion : These results suggest that adolescents who use internet in addictive patterns may have more problematic communication styles and these may be associated with poor interpersonal relationships.

Motion-tracked Speed Dialing for Smartphones

  • The use of a smartphone with one hand has been getting difficult as the size of the smartphone display gets larger. In addition, people handicapped or using one hand for handling other pieces may encounter difficulties to touch exact numbers for calling with their smartphones. Thus, motion-tracked speed dialing can be a good solution for these cases and also an advanced feature applicable in the future network not requiring dedicated Internet connections. The previous study on this feature showed a result with a limitation of using servers connected via Internet connections for solving real-time control issues. Therefore, this paper proposes a scheme for the smartphone dialing on motion-tracked numbers without any servers or Internet connections, and presents the details of its implementation and results.

인터넷을 통한 네트워크 광고 서비스 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of Network Advertising Service through Internet)

  • In recent days, Internet advertising effects are expanded by the steep increase of the Internet users and the extension of the advertising market will be accelerated through Internet. This paper indicates the importance of Internet advertising and suggests the solution of a network advertising service. The system is divided into an Advertise Server, an Advertiser and a Web Publisher. This study proposes both the collection and the analysis of traffic data in real time. Also, the banner advertising frames not for sale purpose are levelled for the impression using the solution for the banner exchange engine. In addition, with developing the advertising service system by using Active Server Pages, the newest language of server side script will be able to lead the additional supplement of more various profitable functions when it is considered the rapid increment of Active Server Pages.
