Mobility Support Architecture in Locator-ID Separation based Future Internet using Proxy Mobile IPv6

  • Of several approaches for future Internet, separating two properties of IP address into locator and identifier, is being considered as a highly likely solution. IETF's LISP (Locator ID Separation Protocol) is proposed for this architecture. In particular, the LISP model easily allows for device mobility through simple update of information at MS (Mapping Server) without a separate protocol. In recent years, some of the models supporting device mobility using such LISP attributes have emerged; however, most of them have the limitation for seamless mobility support due to the frequent MS information updates and the time required for the updates. In this paper, PMIPv6 (Proxy Mobile IPv6) model is applied for mobility support in LISP model. PMIPv6 is a method that can support mobility based on network without the help of device; thus, this we define anew the behavior of functional modules (LMA, MAG and MS) to fit this model to the LISP environment and present specifically procedures of device registration, data transfer, route optimization and handover. In addition, our approach improves the communication performance using three tunnels identified with locators between mobile node and corresponding node and using a route optimized tunnel between MN's MAG and CN's MAG. Finally, it allows for seamless mobility by designing a sophisticated handover procedure.

  • Generally, the Internet Address Resources Act is intended to protect the public from acts of Internet "cybersquatting", a term used to describe the bad faith, abusive registration of Internet domain names. In determining whether a person has a bad faith intent, a court may consider factors such as, (1) the trademark or other intellectual property rights of the person, if any, in the domain name, (2) the extent to which the domain name consists of the legal name of the person or a name that is otherwise commonly used to identify that person, (3) the person's prior use, if any, of the domain name in connection with the bona fide offering of any goods or services, (4) the person's bona fide noncommercial or fair use of the mark in a site accessible under the domain name, (5) the person's intent to divert consumers from the mark owner's online location to a site accessible under the domain name that could harm the goodwill represented by the mark, either for commercial gain or with the intent to tarnish or disparage the mark, by creating a likelihood of confusion as to the source, sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement of the site, (6) the person's offer to transfer, sell, or otherwise assign the domain name to the mark owner or any third party for financial gain without having used, or having an intent to use, the domain name in the bona fide offering of any goods or services, or the person's prior conduct indicating a pattern of such conduct.

  • This paper provide a framework for an IGILMS(internet-based global integrated logistics management system) which can access and mediate cargo transportations among small- and medium-sized domestic/international logistics corporations as regards cargo, registration and search for space, public tender and negotiation, contract, payment and safety-guarantee, transportation through the internet, wireless communication means, or smart phone etc. In addition, we describe a model to provide customized services in the B2B e-market for IGILMS and the structure and the control of its fulfillment process, and provide technical architecture of the IGILMS for an internet-based global logistics management system. To validate an efficiency of the proposed system, we develop a simulation model and analyze the performance of the proposed system.

Device Personalization Methods for Enhancing Packet Delay in Small-cells based Internet of Things (스몰셀 기반 사물인터넷에서 패킷 지연시간 향상을 위한 디바이스 개인화 방법)

  • Recently, with greatly improving the wireless communication technology, new services are created using smart sensors, i.e., machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT). In this paper, we propose a novel IoT device (IoTD) personalization method that adopt Small-cell Access Points (SAPs) to control IoTDs using user equipments (UEs), e.g., smart phones and tablet PC, from service users. First, we introduce a system architecture that consists of UE, IoTD, and SAP and propose the IoTD personalization method with two procedures, i.e., IoTD profile registration procedure and IoTD control procedure. Finally, through simulations, we evaluated the system performance of the proposed scheme and it is shown that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional scheme in terms of the packet delay, packet loss probability, and normalized throughput.

  • 주민등록번호는 주민생활의 편익 증진과 행정사무의 적정한 처리를 목적으로 도입되었으나 인터넷의 발달과 함께 관행적이고 무분별하게 사용되어 왔다. 수집된 주민등록번호가 해킹 등의 유출사고로 명의도용 등 범죄에 악용될 우려가 커지자 이를 근본적으로 해결하기 위하여 2011년 방송통신위원회는 인터넷상 주민등록번호 수집 이용을 제한하는 법 제도적 정책을 추진하였다. 정보통신망법이 개정되어 주민등록번호의 사용이 제한되면서 사업자에게 본인확인, 연령확인 등 법률의무의 이행이나 고객의 분쟁조정 등 목적을 위해 주민등록번호를 대체할 본인확인수단이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 주민등록번호를 이용자가 입력하지 않으며 보편적으로 사용하고 있는 인프라를 이용하고 단순한 입력정보의 변경을 통해 본인확인을 할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다.

  • At present, the scale of Electronic Commerce through internet has been rapidly increasing due to the development of information & communication technology, and aggregated to 2.4 billion dollar in America last year (1998). The market scale of worldwide electronic commerce is also presumed to be about 130 billion dollar in 2000, and to occupy more than 20% of the whole world trade in world 2020. Since the right of trademark, despite of being effective only in registered nations on the principle of territorialism, is unified on the cyber space of internet without domestic barrier or local limitation which make it easier to conduct the distribution of information rapidly through the address-internet domain name, those are very important that the systematic dispute-solving plan on problems such as decision of its Act and international jurisdiction to be established, in an effort to prevent the newly emerging dispute instances such as trademark infringement and improper competitiveness. In addition, it is natural that on the threshold of the electronic commerce age which formed with an unified area without the worldwide specific regulation, each country including us makes haste with the enactment of "electronic commerce Act" aiming at coming into force in 1999, in keeping with getting through "non-tariff law on electronic commerce" by U. S. parliament on May, 1998. In view of the properties of electronic commerce transactions through internet, there are the large curtailment of distributive channel, surmounting of restrictions on transaction area, space and time and the easy feedback with consumer and the cheap-required capital, from which the problems may arise - registration of trademark, the trademark infringement of domain name and the protection of prestigious trademark. Therefore, it is necessary to take the counter-measure, with a view of reviewing the infringement of trademark and domain name and the instances of each national precedent and to preventing the disputes. The improvement of the persistent system should be needed to propel the harmonious protection of those holding trademark right's credit and demanders' expectant profit by way of the righteous use of trademark.

  • In recent years, the maker culture has realized the concept of 'making' itself through the latest technology of high technology. It is rapidly spreading as a maker's movement by sharing the production methods and information of individuals through the Internet. Countries that are leading the makers' movement expect the maker's movement to be the driving force for new value creation and economic growth from the point of view of things and the Internet. We are developing various types of open IoT platforms that can register various Internet devices and services manufactured and developed through DIY and realize interoperable services. Typical open IoT platforms require specialized API analysis capabilities and difficult access to general users due to difficult platform registration conditions and procedures. In this paper, we try to construct an open IoT platform that can be operated as a real service by creating a simple Internet application device and service application from a general manufacturer's point of view.

  • This study is aimed at the application of the apparel size system to be applied for the Internet shopping mall in Korea. Especially this is focused on the presumption of the body measurement according to the age groups and the figure groups. In this regard, a sizing system is to be developed that could be used to approach consumers more easily and provide more fitness and accuracy in terms of size. The target study was on a group of women nineteen to forty-nine years of age. The 4th National Anthropometry Survey data were used in the examination. The results in the study are as follows ; (1) On the Internet apparel shopping malls in relation with this study, no matter what size in the ready-to-wear enterprises was selected by the consumers who once put their information in the member registration, the most appropriate sizes for them are automatically given and transferred to the order forms of chosen enterprises with aid of internal programs of the internet webpage. In addition, when consumers enter their body sizes in the units that are familiar to them, such as inches or centimeters, the units are automatically programed so that they can be converted for the sake of convenience. ; (2) To extract an estimation equation of body size through Multiple Regression Analysis, the circumferences of chest and hip could be presumed by stature, weight, and waist circumference of which most consumers were well aware. For more accurate regression equations, groupings were made in the three categories of age(19∼29/30∼39/40∼49) and in the three body types(Type N, A and H). Then, the regression equations were established for three sectors, $\circled1$ 'chest circumference not filled up', $\circled2$ 'hip circumference not filled up' and $\circled3$ 'neither filled up for chest nor for hip circumference'.     • The number of hosts connected to the Internet has increased dramatically, introducing the Domain Name System(DNS) in 1984. DNS is now an important key point for all users of the Internet by allowing them to use a convenient character address without memorizing a series of numbers of complex IP address. However, relative to the importance of DNS, there still exist many problems such as the authorization allocation issue, the disputes over public registration, security vulnerability such as DNS cache poisoning, DNS spoofing, man-in-the-middle attack, DNS amplification attack, and the need for many domain names in the age of hyper-connected networks. In this paper, to effectively improve these problems of existing DNS, we proposed a method of implementing DNS using distributed ledger technology, blockchain, and implemented using a Ethereum-based platform. In addition, the qualitative analysis performance comparative evaluation of the existing domain name registration and domain name server was conducted, and conducted security assessments on the proposed system to improve security problem of existing DNS. In conclusion, it was shown that DNS services could be provided high security and high efficiently using blockchain.

    Effects of Initiation and Perceived Similarity on the Evaluation of Online Communities (온라인 커뮤니티 속 가입절차 및 지각된 유사성에 따른 평가의 차이)

    • Nowadays, it is hard to imagine one's life without smart phones or the internet. Furthermore, not only do people form groups offline, but also online. Based on the cognitive dissonance theory, there have been many studies about how an offline group's initiation affects attitudes toward the group. However, there has not been a study about how an online group's initiation can affect attitudes toward the group. Therefore, this study aims to find out how cognitive dissonance aroused by initiation affects the attitudes toward the online community, which represents groups that are formed online. In addition, this study examined how perceived similarity affects changes in attitude aroused by cognitive dissonance. Participants were assigned to a group in three ways as follows: without a registration process, with a simple registration process, and/or with a complex registration process. Perceived similarity was calculated by the difference between the current body mass index (BMI) and the target BMI of the participant. Attitudes toward the online group were measured by perceived source credibility, perceived information quality, satisfaction, information usefulness, and continuance intention. Contrary to the cognitive dissonance theory, the results showed that when applied to offline social groups, there were conflicting results. There were cases where there was no difference in the evaluation between initiation conditions. However, other cases showed that groups with the most complex registration process were found to have the worst evaluation. People were more favorable toward the group when the perceived similarity was larger. Interestingly, people who had higher perceived similarity had more positive attitudes toward the groups that had been assigned with a registration process compared to the group formed without a registration process. Conversely, people with lower perceived similarity had more positive attitudes toward the group when there was no initiation process. Online communities may use the results of this study to design more suitable registration processes for their communities.
