  • The purpose of this research is to develop and evaluate a traffic engineering architecture that uses local state information. This architecture is applied to an Internet protocol radio access network (RAN) that uses multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) and differentiated services to support mobile hosts. We assume mobility support is provided by a protocol such as the hierarchical mobile Internet protocol. The traffic engineering architecture is router based-meaning that routers on the edges of the network make the decisions onto which paths to place admitted traffic. We propose an algorithm that supports the architecture and uses local network state in order to function. The goal of the architecture is to provide an inexpensive and fast method to reduce network congestion while increasing the quality of service (QoS) level when compared to traditional routing and traffic engineering techniques. We use a number of different mobility scenarios and a mix of different types of traffic to evaluate our architecture and algorithm. We use the network simulator ns-2 as the core of our simulation environment. Around this core we built a system of pre-simulation, during simulation, and post-processing software that enabled us to simulate our traffic engineering architecture with only very minimal changes to the core ns-2 software. Our simulation environment supports a number of different mobility scenarios and a mix of different types of traffic to evaluate our architecture and algorithm.

  • One of the technologies which accelerate data transmission rate on the Internet is ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line), which enables the fast growth of the information age by providing infrastructures for the high speed Internet access. The network architecture of the ADSL service is the FTTC(Fiber To The Curb) which consists of fiber netwoks and copper based subscriber lines. The ADSL is a technology that utilizes the existing subscriber line efficiently. In the FTTC architecture, the major factors that degrade the quality of the ADSL service are the copper wires in the subscriber loops. This paper examines the characteristics of the subscriber lines that affect the high speed Internet access in deploying the ADSL services and also analyzes the mutual relationships between each line characteristic and its performance.

  • Integration of mobile networks and Internet has started with 2.5 generation of mobile cellular networks. Internet traffic is today dominant traffic type worldwide. The hanger for higher data rates needed for data traffic and new IP based services is essential in the development of future wireless networks. In such situation, even 3G with up to 2 Mbit/s has not provided data rates that are used by Internet users with fixed broadband dial-up or through wired local area networks. The solution to provide higher bit rates in wireless access network has been found in wireless LAN although initially it has been developed to extend wired LAN into wireless domain. In this paper, we propose and describe a solution created for interoperability between mobile cellular network and WLAN. The integration between two networks, cellular and WLAN, is performed on the authentication, authorization, and accounting, i.e., AAA side. For that purpose we developed WLAN access controller and WLAN AAA gateway, which provide gateway-type access control as well as charging and billing functionalities for the WLAN service. In the development process of these elements, we have considered current development stadium of all needed network entities and protocols. The provided solution provides cost-effective and easy-to-deploy PLMN-WLAN Internetworking scenario.

  • Football (soccer) is one of the most popular sports in the world. A huge number of people watch live football matches by TV or Internet. A football match takes 90 minutes, but viewers may only want to watch a few highlights to save their time. As far as we know, there is no such a product that can be put into use to achieve intelligent highlight extraction from live football matches. In this paper, we propose an intelligent editing system for live football matches. Our system can automatically extract a series of highlights, such as goal, shoot, corner kick, red yellow card and the appearance of star players, from the live stream of a football match. Our system has been integrated into live streaming platforms during the 2018 FIFA World Cup and performed fairly well.

  • The number of smart phone users is rapidly growing due to recent increase in wireless Internet usage, development of a wide variety of applications, and activation of M2M (Machine to machine) services. Although the smart phone offers benefits of mobility and convenience, it also has serious security problems. To utilize M2M services in the smart phone, a flexible integrated authentication and access control facility is an essential requirement. To solve these problems, we propose a context-aware single sign-on and access control system that uses context-awareness, integrated authentication, access control, and an OSGi service platform in the smart phone environment. In addition, we recommend Fuzzy Logic and MAUT (Multi-Attribute Utility Theory) in handling diverse contexts properly as well as in determining the appropriate security level. We also propose a security system whose properties are flexible and convenient through a typical scenario in the smart phone environment. The proposed context-aware security system can provide a flexible, secure and seamless security service by adopting diverse contexts in the smart phone environment.

  • Home network is the connection and communication of several electronic and electrical devices at hone with the integration of several technologies like Ethernet, wireless, phone line and power-line at the residential gateway to the internet. This internet based home network can be accessed from any part of the world through any device by any poison via internet. Since home network is developed for comfortable and safe life of home users, the information flow to/from home network needs to be private. Hence the remote access of the home network must be secured. This paper analyses two secure tunneling methods, voluntary and compulsory for L2TP(Layer Two Tunneling Protocol) based VPN(Virtual Private Network) for secure remote access of the home network.

  • In this paper, we propose an access control system using cryptography as a method to protect personal data in public blockchain. The proposed system is designed to encrypt data according to the access policy, store it in the blockchain, and decrypt only the person who satisfy the access policy. In order to improve performance and scalability, an encryption mechanism is implemented outside the blockchain. Therefore, data access performance could be preserved while cryptographic operations executed Furthermore it can also improve the scalability by adding new access control modules while preserving the current configuration of blockchain network. The encryption scheme is based on the attribute-based encryption (ABE). However, unlike the traditional ABE, the "retention period", is incorporated into the access structure to ensure the right to be forgotten. In addition, symmetric key cryptograpic algorithms are used for the performance of ABE. We implemented the proposed system in a public blockchain and conducted the performance evaluation.

  • Android file system is vulnerable to the external access of system resources via its arbitrary access mode and need user's control for SD and UMS medias due to its open architecture. In response to the device control, there is a drawback that its controlability is valid only in the case of embedded linux kernel with VDC function. Hence the solution is to directly implement VDC through system call, with another security module for device storage than system module being added to android system. In this paper the new method of android storage access control for personal information is proposed via VDC for mount system of storage. The access method for SD and UMS were implemented using VDC and mount mechanism. This access control system has been designed to control the granted users in kernel level if files are flowed out by copying. As a result, it was proved through testing that the access control system has exactly detected the write access operation.

  • Recently, data can be safely shared or stored using the infrastructure of cloud computing in various fields. However, issues such as data security and privacy affect cloud environments. Thus, a variety of security technologies are required, one of them is security technology using CP-ABE. Research into the CP-ABE scheme is currently ongoing, but the existing CP-ABE schemes can pose security threats and are inefficient. In terms of security, the CP-ABE approach should be secure against user collusion attacks and masquerade attacks. In addition, in a dynamic cloud environment where users are frequently added or removed, they must eliminate user access when they leave, and so users will not be able to access the cloud after removal. A user who has left should not be able to access the cloud with the existing attributes, secret key that had been granted. In addition, the existing CP-ABE scheme increases the size of the ciphertext according to the number of attributes specified by the data owner. This leads to inefficient use of cloud storage space and increases the amount of operations carried out by the user, which becomes excessive when the number of attributes is large. In this paper, CP-ABE access control is proposed to block access of withdrawn users in dynamic cloud environments. This proposed scheme focuses on the revocation of the attributes of the withdrawn users and the output of a ciphertext of a constant-size, and improves the efficiency of the user decryption operation through outsourcing.
