Background : Bronchoscopy is an important diagnostic and a therapeutic tool in chest medicine. However, most patients feel that a bronchoscopy is an unpleasant procedure, and it is important to sedate the patients appropriately, particularly where repetitive examinations are required. Midazolam is a sedative drug with amnestic qualities and a rapid 2 hour half-life. This study have attempted to determine the safety, appropriate dosage, and the effect of midazolam premedication in patients who underwent a bronchoscopy. Methods : One hundred and eighty consecutive patients undergoing bronchoscopy were enrolled in this study. The patients received a midzolam doses of 0.03 mg/kg, 0.06 mg/kg, or a placebo. An additional dose of lidocaine, the total number of coughs, and the duration of the procedures were recorded with monitoring the the blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation. The level of satisfaction was assessed by the patient, bronchoscopist, and the nurse. Results : The blood pressure, pulse rates, oxygen saturation, number of coughs, lidocaine dose, and procedure time in the 3 groups were similar. There was a trend for the midazolam 0.03 mg/kg group to satisfy bronchoscopists more than the other two groups. The nurses' acceptability was lower in the midazolam 0.06 mg/kg group than the other groups. The patients' acceptablity was greater in both the midazolam 0.03 mg/kg and 0.06 mg/kg groups than in the control group. Conclusion : Sedation with low doses of intravenous midazolam is a safe technique for fiberoptic bronchoscopy with a low morbidity and high acceptable to patients and bronchoscopists.

The pH, alkalinity and calcium hardness could be adjusted by $CO_2$, $Ca(OH)_2$, and $Na_2CO_3$ addition in the water treatment process for corrosion protection of the water pipes. This research was performed to investigate the effect on the variation of water quality on the unit process by addition $CO_2$, $Ca(OH)_2$, and $Na_2CO_3$ in water treatment process. Carbon dioxide and lime were added before the coagulation basin and soda ash was added after the BAC process. pH and aklainity were increased at coagulation basin then after the water qualities had sustained similiarly to BAC process. There was no effect on turbidity and DOC removal efficiency during experimental period by addition\ $CO_2$, $Ca(OH)_2$, and $Na_2CO_3$ solution was added into clear well, the last process for optimum control of CCPP and is used mainly to control pH and alkalinity. In this research, average pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness in treated water were 8.39, 61.4 mg/L as $CaCO_3$, 59.4 mg/L as $CaCO_3$, respectively and CCPP of treated water was higher than 29.5 mg/L to BAC process water, so adjusted water was expected to prevent internal corrosion of water pipe.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of HACCP implementation. The HACCP education was provided twice within one month to 20 employees of a contracted food service operation in Daegu. Critical control points (CCP) were determined based on food preparation processes: non-heating, preparation after heating, and heating. We evaluated the effects of HACCP implementation by checking microbiological quality, time and temperature at each of the CCPs during the receiving, preparation, cooking, and serving stages. After HACCP implementation, the biggest changes in microbiological qualities were in heated foods. At the cooking and serving stages, the microbiological qualities of heated foods improved to the standard levels. HACCP education helped employees ensure that the internal temperatures of the heated foods were kept higher than the standard (74 $^{\circ}C$) and the food holding temperature avoided the dangerous zone (5-6$0^{\circ}C$), thus lowering microbiological levels. At the serving stage, the microbiological levels of utensils also improved after HACCP education. This result strongly suggests that it is essential to educate employees in managing the temperature to treat foods safely. However, HACCP education didn't affect the microbiological levels of non-heated foods and foods prepared after heating, which continued to be higher than the standard. The reason for this was that poor microbiological quality seasonings were added to those types of foods. This indicates that seasoning factories as well as food service operations should implement HACCP to reduce hazards.

Since the SSC(soluble solid contents) and titratable acidity of fruit are highly concerned to the taste, the need for measuring them by non-destructive technology such as NIR(Visual and Near-infrared) spectroscopy is increasing. Specially, in order to grade the quality of each fruit with a sorter at sorting and packing facilities, technologies for online measurement satisfying the tolerance in terms of accuracy and speed should be developed. Many researches have been done to develop devices to measure the internal qualities of fruit such as SSC, titratable acidity, firmness, etc. with the VIS(Visual)/NIR(Near Infrared) reflectance spectra. The distributions of the SSC, titratable acidity, firmness, etc. are different with respect to the position and depth of fruit, and generally the VIS/NIR light can interact with fruit in a few millimeters of pathlength, and it is very difficult to measure the qualities of inner flesh of fruit. Therefore, to measure the average concentrations of each quality factor such as SSC and titratable acidity with the reflectance-type NIR devices, the spectra of fruit at several positions should be measured. Recently, the interest about the transmittance-type VIS/NIR devices is increasing. NIR light can penetrate through the fruit about 1/10-1/1,000,000 %. Therefore, very intensive light source and very sensitive sensor should be adopted to measure the transmitted light spectra of intact fruit. The ultimate purpose of this study was to develop a device to measure the transmitted light spectra of intact fruit such as apple, pear, peach, etc. With the transmittance-type VIS/NIR device, the feasibility of measurement of the SSC and titratable acidity in intact fruit cultivated in Korea was tested. The results are summarized as follows; A simple measurement device which can measure the transmitted light spectra of intact fruit was constructed with sample holder, two 500W-tungsten halogen lamps, a real-time spectrometer having a very sensitive CCD array sensor and optical fiber probe. With the device, it was possible to measure the transmitted light spectra of intact fruit such as apple, pear and peach. Main factors affecting the intensity of transmitted light spectra were the size of sample, the radiation intensity of light source and the integration time of the detector. Sample holder should be designed so that direct light leakage to the probe could be protected. Preprocessing method to the raw spectrum data significantly influenced the performance of the nondestructive measurement of SSC and titratable acidity of intact fruit. Representative results of PLS models in predicting the SSC of peach were SEP of 0.558 Brix% and R2 of 0.819, and those in predicting titratable acidity were SEP of 0.056% and R2 of 0.655.
This study was undertaken to develop the optimum baking formular and process in making the improved soy-wheat composite breads furtified with soy flour, which has been known for a source of biologically active phytochemicals and for more vegetable proteins as well. The effects of the addition of soy flour on a rheological properties of dough, on the sensory characteristics of breads, and on the possibilities of commercialization of these functional breads were investigated. As the added amount of soy flour increased, water absorption, development time and the weakness value of dough were increased, but dough stability were decreased in the farinograph. In the extensograph, the more soy flour was added, the less the extensibility and the resistance to extention were shown. As the amount of soy flour increased, gelatinazation point was increased in the amylograph, but the maxium viscosity was decreased. As the added amount of soy flour was increased, b value(yellowness) was obviously increased, L value(lightness) was slightly decreased. However, a value(redness) was not nearly changed in the color of cut loaves. In sensory evaluation, the more soy flour was added, the less the external, the internal characteristics and the eating qualities were shown. Accorting to the addition of soy flour, the toughness and the brittleness tended to be increased proportionally. The dough of 10% soy-wheat composite flour(SF10) was the most favorable on the baking performance.
A study for service quality is actively done but that for the quality level of the provided service recognized by the service provider for the same service, and for the difference in quality level of service use recognized by the service user is not relatively widely done. Thus, this study analyzed difference between the quality level of the provided service recognized by the service provider and the quality level of service use recognized by the service user, around administrative service as one of cores of the university service, and examined how difference between both service qualities have effect on business the business satisfaction level of the service provider. We measured the service level provided by the individual in charge of the administrative service of the A-university and examined the service quality in business by use of questionnaires. As the result, it was appeared that the quality level of the provided service recognized by the service provider for the same service quality was higher than the quality level of service use recognized by the service user. In addition, it was found that the quality level of the provided service recognized by the service provider had a significant effect on the service provider's business satisfaction level but the quality level of service use recognized by the service user had not effect on the business satisfaction level of the provider.
Objective: This study aimed to review scales and tests developed for or validated with children and their families that were published in the Korean Journal of Child Studies from 1984 to 2016. Specifically, the purpose of the present study was to analyze the contents and format of the selected instruments, as well as to evaluate their psychometric properties. Methods: Using several databases and journal archives from the Korean Journal of Child Studies, searches were implemented using the key terms: instrument, scale, development, and validation. Instruments from 76 selected studies were reviewed based on several characteristics, such as assessment areas, contents, respondents, responding types, and psychometric properties. Results and Conclusion: First, a majority of the reviewed instruments were developed for infants and children, whereas only one was developed for adolescents. With regard to their specific measurement domains, many instruments focused on social emotional development among children. Second, with a few exceptions, the selected studies provided appropriate evidence for the reliability of the instrument, including its internal consistency, inter-rater reliability, and spilt-half reliability. Many studies also reported on the criterion-related or construct validity of the instrument to establish its validity. Future studies need to develop instruments across diverse developmental areas that collect information from multiple sources and raters. In addition, more evidence on the reliability and validity of the reviewed instruments should be provided to demonstrate their psychometric qualities.
This study investigates risk reduction behavior with risk perception in outdoor wear purchase situations. Data were collected via a questionnaire from 400 consumers between the ages of 20 to 50 residing in Seoul and Kyonggi-do. Data analysis were conducted with SPSS 20 program on the reliability test, factor analysis, cluster analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple range test. Factor analyses were employed for the participation motivation of mountain climbing activities, risk reduction behavior and risk perception. Five factors were for the participation motivation of mountain climbing activities (health and fitness, external ostentation, achievement and excitement, improvement of climbing skills, and society). Five factors were for risk perception (fashionability loss and social risk, time and convenience loss, economic risk, performance risk, and psychological risk). Five factors were for the risk reduction behavior (interpersonal information sources use, marketer-dominated information sources use, professional information sources use, pre-purchase deliberation/observation/experience, and brand dependence). Three clusters were identified based on the motivation of outdoor activities (the affiliation/display, the health/internal informativeness and low motivation). The participation motivation for mountain climbing activities were varied. Manufacturers should increase efforts to develop products with good qualities at a reasonable cost as well as establish new marketing strategies since the risk of product performance and economic efficiency in the purchase of outdoor wear was a significant consumer perception.

Objective : The PTSD Checklist (PCL) is a self-report screen for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that can be scored for both diagnostic assessment and symptom severity measurement. The most recent revision of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) contains a number of changes to the definition of PTSD, and the aim of this study was to assess the psychometric properties of the Korean version of the PCL for the DSM-5 (PCL-5-K). Methods : The participants were 204 Korean veterans of the Vietnam War who completed the PCL-5-K, the Mini Mental Status Examination (MMSE), PTSD module of Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5, Research Version (SCID5-RV PTSD module), Korean version of Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R-K) and Combat Exposure Scale (CES-K). Results : The PCL-5-K demonstrated good internal consistency (${\alpha}=0.972$) and test-retest reliability (r=0.96); the suggested cut-off score for PTSD diagnosis was ${\geq}37$ with 0.88 sensitivity and 0.96 specificity. The PCL-5-K scale correlated highly with the IES-R-K and CES-K. Factor analysis identified only one factor. Conclusion : Among elderly Korean veterans of the Vietnam War, the PCL-5-K demonstrated similar psychometric qualities to those of both the original PCL and subsequent versions. It is expected that the PCL-5-K will be a useful PTSD screening tool.

ATM packet switching technologies for the purpose of the B-ISDN service are focused on high performance which represents good qualities on throughput, packet loss, and packet delay. ATM switch designs on a class of parallel interconnection network have been researched. But these are based on the self-routing function of it. It leads to conflict with each other, and to lose the packets. Therefore, this paper proposes the method based on Sort-Banyan network should be adopted for optimal routing algorithm. It is difficult to expect good hardware complexity. For good performance, a switch design based on the development of new routing algorithm is required. For the design of switch network, the packet distributor and multiplane are proposed. They prevent each packet from blocking as being transmitted selectively by two step distributed decision algorithm. This switch will be proved to be a good performance switch network that internal blocking caused from self-routing function is removed. Also, it is expected to minimize the packet loss and decrease the packet delay according to packet transmission.
