조건부 자원 공유를 고려한 스케쥴링 알고리즘 (A scheduling algorithm for conditonal resources sharing consideration)

  • This paper presents a new scheduling algorithm, which is the most improtant subtask in the high level synthesis. The proposed algorithm performs scheduling in consideration of resource sharing concept based on characteristics of conditionsla bransches in the intermediate data structure. CDFG (control data flow graph) generated by a VHDL analyzer. This algorithm constructs a conditon graph based on time frame of each operation using both the ASAP and the ALAP scheduling algorithm. The conditon priority is obtained from the condition graph constructed from each conditional brance. The determined condition priority implies the sequential order of transforming the CDFG with conditonal branches into the CDFG without conditional branches. To minimize resource cost, the CDFG with conditional branches are transformed into the CDFG without conditonal brancehs according to the condition priority. Considering the data dependency, the hardware constraints, and the data execution time constraints, each operation in the transformed CDFG is assigned ot control steps. Such assigning of unscheduled operations into contorl steps implies the performance of the scheduling in the consecutive movement of operations. The effectiveness of this algorithm is hsown by the experiment for the benchmark circuits.

  • 본 논문에서는 RISC 컴파일러 시스템 구현에 필요한 기계독립적인 광역적 최적화부(global optimizer)의 설계 방식을 제안하고 실현한다. 제안된 최적화부는 트리플 표현을 입력으로 받아 데이터 흐름 분석 및 공통부식제거와 코드 이동을 수행하고 최적화된 트리플 표현을 출력시킨다. 본 최적화부는 기계 독립적인 중간언어를 대상으로 하기 때문에 다양한 고급언어와 타겟 머신에 대해서 이식성이 용이하며 프로그램의 실행속도를 향상시킬 수 있는 효율적인 최적화를 수행하도록 구성된다.

Penning 방전을 이용한 실리콘 CVD (Penning Discharge Assisted Chimical Vapor Deposition of Silicon)

  • Silicon deposition by Penning discharge was carried out using a mixture of 5% $SiH_4/H_2$ and Ar gas, and the effects of the deposition conditions(gas mixing raito, substrate temperature. discharge power etc.) on the growth rate, crystallinity and morphology of the films deposited were investigated. The magnetic field(800 G) confined the plasma in the region between the two cathodes and enhanced the discharge current by a factor of a few hundreds below 1 mTorr. The magnetic field-enhanced plasma density resulted in a very large deposition rate of about 300 $\AA$/min at $SiH_4$ flow rate of 0.7 sccm and the substrate temperature of $800^{\circ}C$. Characterization of the films by Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy revealed that an epitaxial film with a smooth surface grows above 80$0^{\circ}C$, an amorphous film below $400^{\circ}C$, and a rough polycrystalline film at intermediate temperatures.

습식합성에 의한 Mn-Zn Ferrite의 생성반응에 관한 연구 (Formation Reaction of Mn-Zn Ferrite by Wet Process)

  • Formation reaction of Mn-Zn ferrite depending on various synthetic conditions of wet process was investigated using FeCl2.nH2O(n≒4), MnCl2.4H2O, ZnCl2 as starting materials. A stable intermediate precipitate was formed by the addition of H2O2. And the precipitate was hard to transform to spinel phase of Mn-Zn Fe2O4. Single phase of Mn-Zn Fe2O4 spinel was obtained above 8$0^{\circ}C$ reaction temperature. The powder had spherical particle shape and 0.02~0.05${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ particle size. Fe(OH)2 solid solution, -FeO(OH) solid solution, -FeOOH, Mn-Zn Fe2O4 spinel were formed with air flow rate 180$\ell$/hr. However, single phase of Mn-Zn Fe2O4 spinel with cubic particle shape and 0.1~0.2${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ particle size was formed with synthetic conditions of 8$0^{\circ}C$ and 90 munutes. The particle shape of the -FeOOH was needle-like.

서울시(市) 신호체제의 적정 phase split 과 연쇄화를 위한 최적 offset (Determination of Optimal Phase Split and Offset for the Synchronization of Traffic Signals in the CBD of Seoul)

  • The coordinated control of the traffic signals of adjacent intersections can reduce delays, relative number of stops and congestions in the coordinated traffic area. The road capacity can be increased to a certain extend because the stopping and starting of vehicles facing red traffic lights can be avoided in many instances due to the progression established along an artery. However, if traffic centers or leaves the main flow in irregular volumes on the intermediate road section, a coordination of traffic signals is unnecessary and may even be harmful. Therefore, a computer simulation model to simulate and predict the effectiveness of a synchronized traffic signal system in the CBD of Seoul was developed and alternative policy variables, such as cycle time, offsets, phase splits, to be fed into the simulation model had to be generated. This is a report of (1) the development of a heuristic algorithm for the determination of phase splits when there are amber periods specifically reserved for left turns and (2) the computerization of time-space diagramming.

Control Dominated ASIC 설계를 위한 최소 제한조건 스케쥴링 알고리즘 (A Minimal Constrained Scheduling Algorithm for Control Dominated ASIC Design)

  • 본 논문에서는 최적의 control dominated ASIC 설계를 위한 VHDL 중간 표현 그래프 CDDG(Control Dominated Data Graph)와 최소 제한조건 스케쥴링 알고리즘을 제안한다. CDDG는 VHDL 동작 기술의 조건 분기 및 반복구조 등을 효과적으로 나타낼 수 있는 제어 흐름 그래프로서 하드웨어 설계의 특성을 지원하기 위한 데이터 종속 관계, 하드웨어 자원 제한 및 시간 제한 조건이 표현된다. 제안된 스케쥴링 알고리즘은 CDDG의 부그래프로 표현된 제한조건에 대해, 부그래프들의 최소화하는 과정과 회로 동작의 허용 시간을 검사하는 최대 시간 제한의 검색 및 각 연산 노드들의 동작시간을 결정하는 과정으로 수행된다. 벤치마크 데이터를 사용하여 실험한 결과, 제안된 알고리즘이 기존의 알고리즘에 비해 우수함을 확인하였다.

  • 3-methyl-2-cyclopentenone is a valuable reaction intermediate for various high value added products. 3-methyl-2-cyclopentenone is not only expensive but also difficult to produce. 3-methyl-2-cyclopentenone can be synthesized by base catalyzed intermolecular aldol condensation. In this work, we studied a simple and practical method for synthesizing 3-methyl-2-cyclopentenone. Experimental results showed the advantages of the continuous flow process using a microreactor with kenic mixers for the synthesis of 3-methyl-2-cyclopentenone.

  • In this paper, we briefly review and describe a projection algorithm for numerically computing the two-dimensional time-dependent incompressible Navier-Stokes equation. The projection method, which was originally introduced by Alexandre Chorin [A.J. Chorin, Numerical solution of the Navier-Stokes equations, Math. Comput., 22 (1968), pp. 745-762], is an effective numerical method for solving time-dependent incompressible fluid flow problems. The key advantage of the projection method is that we do not compute the momentum and the continuity equations at the same time, which is computationally difficult and costly. In the projection method, we compute an intermediate velocity vector field that is then projected onto divergence-free fields to recover the divergence-free velocity. Numerical solutions for flows inside a driven cavity are presented. We also provide the source code for the programs so that interested readers can modify the programs and adapt them for their own purposes.

Application of Hypothetical Quantum Scattering Model for the Design of Novel Electroluminescence Device

  • We present a hypothetical quantum scattering model to propose a novel electroluminescence device. Adoping with features of solid state semiconductor LED and exciplex laser, the cathode (electrol incoming potential) and anode(electron outgoing potential) are made to correspond to two 1-dimensional resonance supporting potentials, and the light emitting part to an interaction potential in the intermediate region. When an external voltage is applied, the electron flows into the cathode having small work function. Subsequently in flows via LUMO of the " electron incoming potential" loses kinetic energy emitting a photon, then continues to flow via LUMO of the "electron outgoing potential" unlike the conventional LUMO to HOMO transitions occurring in solid state semiconductor LED. In this model, the photon frequency can be controlled by adijusting the applied voltage. The model hopefully could be realized as partially conjugated hydrocarbon chains.

  • The objective of this paper is to introduce very fast but still stable solution using finite element procedures, and it has been used in an iterative mode for product design applications. A lot of numerical techniques have been developed to deal with the material, geometric and boundary condition non-linearities occurred in the stamping process. One of them, the One-Step FEM is very efficient and useful tool for a design and trouble-shooting in various stamping processes. In this method, the mathod, the material is assumed to deform directly from the initial flat blank to the final configuration without any intermediate steps. The formulation is based on the deformation theory of plasticity and the upper bound theorem. As a result of the calculations, the initial blank shape is obtained, together with the material flow, strains and thickness distribution in the part.
