Designs of Takashi Sugimoto suggested new concepts on the space after broking out fixed ideas, and attempted spatial expressions differently from existing interior decorations through independent thoughts and new interpretations. It is showing orientalism's influences strongly based on Japanese traditional beauty unlike western country's design trends. Takashi Sugimoto is implementing unique own design viewpoints by using materials in nature rather than artificial ones, and stressing extra ordinary view of the world having been edited with daily life through traditions and local cultures along with recycling old daily goods and wastes rather than pursuing modem and futuristic spatiality. Sugimoto thought that beautiful designs and uncommon ideas could be gotten from simple daily experiences, and thus materialized it with a technique of extraordinary daily life's implementation through such design viewpoints. Also, He pursues designs in which dense communications are made variously between spaces, space and user, and this becomes design techniques having been used mostly in his projects. It creates soft boundaries through using certain objet as an intermediate of doing communication or erasing physical boundaries, and then induces close communication within the space. This design viewpoints and techniques of Takashi Sugimoto have directed own discriminated designs nowadays.

This paper is to set up the autoregressive distributed lag model in order to estimate factor elasticities of the service export in the medical and healthcare service industry and to analyze the determinants for its export performance during 1975-2015. The empirical results suggest that industrial markup, exchange rate, and interest rate have had more decisive effects on the industrial export performance in the medical and healthcare service industry, in particular, during the declining period in factor prices since the foreign currency crisis beginning in late 1997.
The purpose of this research is to analyze the difference of Structural Equation Model which shows the path between BRQ and its performance variables according to purchase product types-fashion brand types, clothing item groups. The subjects were women in their 20s to 40s living in Seoul and Metropolitan areas, and 482 copies of questionnaire were analyzed. Multi-Group Analysis of AMOS 5.0 Package was used to investigate structural equation model according to fashion brand types and clothing item groups. The results of this study were as follows. As for fashion brand types, there appeared to be significant differences between high price brand type and medium-low price brand type for three paths, namely brand satisfaction to brand loyalty, BRQ to brand attitude, and brand attitude to brand loyalty. However the verification of structural equation model according to clothing item groups showed no significant differences between formal wear and informal wear. Consequently, BRQ was proved to affect brand satisfaction and brand loyalty, and brand satisfaction was the important intermediate variable between BRQ and brand loyalty. As consumers were likely to show the difference of structural equation model according to the price of purchase goods, differencial marketing strategy would be suggested.
In 2012, Korea adopted RPS after having implemented FIT for 10 years since 2002. We show how the choice of policy between RPS and FIT affects firm's choice of intermediate goods between a domestic and a foreign supplier, given the presence of transaction costs, When transaction costs are not sufficiently high, RPS is found to create a favorable environment for the domestic provider, which has comparative disadvantage initially, to be able to enter the market and to catch up with the foreign provider. The result implies that the Korean government's decision to implement RPS was optimal, given Korea's comparative disadvantage in green energy relative to major developed countries.
This research aims to examine and analyze behavior of consumers in pursuit of safety the basis of data Korea Consumer Agency in 2007 2,000 male and females older than 20 years old in Korea. In particular, this study investigates the impact of and life styles of consumers in pursuit of safety. Results of this research could be summarized as follows. First of all, Korean consumers tend to place emphasis on factors such as price and freshness rather than safety in the purchase of vegetables, meats, rice, and fruit.Second, the safety consciousness of consumers is high among female young consumers among consumers showing intermediate positions for the issue of opening domestic markets for foreign agricultural products. Third, this study also examines the impact of life styles on consumers' behavior in pursuit of safety. Such behavior is high among consumers emphasizing values on family and current consumption and showing negative attitudes opening domestic markets for imported foreign agricultural products. Finally, behavior in pursuit of safety is high among female, high school graduated, family-oriented consumers and valuing leisure and showing negative attitudes opening domestic markets for foreign agricultural products. However, safety consciousness of consumers do not generate direct impact on patterns of pursuing safety.
This paper empirically explores the nature of the medical service industry and its various propagation effects on the economy in the input-output model, as revealed by a comparative analysis between Korea and Japan. The main findings of the paper are as follows; First, the growth of medical industry induces above-average effect on employment. Second, the industry is of the characteristics of weak both backward and forward linkage effects implying a 'final demand dependency industry'. When compared with public service sectors, however, the medical services industry shows stronger backward linkage effect than those sectors. Furthermore, it has strong repercussion effects on the goods industries. Third, in order to produce per unit of services, the medical services industry of Korea uses relatively more drugs and medical devices than that of Japan. In general, it has been shown that production structure of medical service industry in Korea is 'hardware-oriented' one; on the other hand, 'software-oriented' in Japan which means that, as intermediate inputs, outsourcing and informatization has been used than those of Korea. From the findings of the paper it could be emphasized that the medical organizations in Korea should put more efforts on shifting the current hardware-oriented production structure to strengthen core competence by enhancing productivity and by outsourcing to improve efficiency of production process. However, the medical organizations in Korea would not have enough incentives for high value-added production structure because they enjoy high operating surplus. Therefore, it would be necessary that government policy should be taken into account of these environments.
We searched and studied galaxy overdensities at 0.6 < z < 4.5 in the areas of two GOODS fields. These overdensities are identified by running top-hat filters on the two dimensional spatial distribution of two galaxy samples - a K-band limited, photometric redshift sample at 0.6 < z < 4.5, and BVz-color selected sample targeting overdensities at z ~ 3.7 and z ~ 4.0. Here photometric redshifts are derived from multi-wavelength data ranging from U-band through 8 micron band of the Spitzer. We find 52 overdensities with significances of 3.5-7 ${\sigma}$. The derived masses found to be a > $10^{13}\;M_{\odot}$ with the comoving number density of a few ${\times}10^{-6}\;Mpc^{-3}$ at z ~ 3. In order to understand the high number density of massive overdensities at high redshift, we carried out an analysis of galaxy overdensities using the mock galaxy catalog based on Millennium simulation selected in the same way as the analysis of the observational data. In the simulation, we find 650 galaxy overdensities with a 3.5 ${\sigma}$ detection threshold over $2^{{\circ}2}$ sky field. The number density of the very massive overdensities (M > $10^{14}\;M_{\odot}$) in simulation shows a similar trend with the observation. We further discuss implications of our results.
Because of its unique properties, tungsten is a strategic and rare metal used in various industrial applications. However, the world's annual production of tungsten is only 84000 t. Ammonium paratungstate (APT), which is used as the main intermediate in industrial tungsten production, is usually obtained from tungsten concentrates of wolframite and scheelite by hydrometallurgical treatment. Intermediates such as tungsten trioxide, tungsten blue oxide, tungstic acid, and ammonium metatungstate can be derived from APT by thermal decomposition or chemical attack. Tungsten metal powder is produced through the hydrogen reduction of high-purity tungsten oxides, and tungsten carbide powder is produced by the reaction of tungsten powder and carbon black powder at 1300-1700℃ in a hydrogen atmosphere. Tungsten scrap can be divided into hard and soft scrap based on shape (bulk or powder). It can also be divided into new scrap generated during the production of tungsten-bearing goods and old scrap collected at the end of life. Recycling technologies for tungsten can be divided into four main groups: direct, chemical, and semi-direct recycling, and melting metallurgy. In this review, the current status of tungsten smelting and recycling technologies is discussed.
Purpose - This paper investigates the structure of exports across countries in terms of value added. Exports value added is examined under two categories, domestic and overseas. Using a statistical classification method by distance based on these two value added categories, this paper estimates the similarity of exports value added across countries including Korea. Design/methodology - The model of study is to employ a generalized distance function and then derive the Manhattan and Euclidean distances. The paper also performs cluster analysis using the Partitioning Around Medoids (PAM) and hierarchical methods to classify the 44 sample countries considered in this study. Findings - Our main findings are as follows. The 44 countries can be classified under 5 groups by their domestic and overseas value added in exports. Korea has a sandwich global value chains (GVCs) position between Japan, China, and Taiwan in the East Asian region. Originality/value - Existing papers point out the double counting problem of trade statistics as the intermediate goods trade across borders increases. This paper addresses the double counting problem by using the World Input-Output Table. The paper shows the need to explore the similarity of value added in exports structure across countries and investigate the GVCs position and role of each country.
This paper investigates the effects of China's participation in global value chains (GVC) on the productivities focusing on the manufacturing industries. In this study, several indicators of participation in global value chains were used. These include GVC participation, forward GVC participation, backward GVC participation and GVC position index. In particular, we used the data obtained from 18 manufacturing industries in China during 15 years from 2000 to 2014. The main results of the analysis are as follows. First, the higher the degree of total participation in GVC, the higher the productivity. This means that with the increase in exports and imports of intermediate goods, productivity has increased through technology spillover effects or competition effects, and so on. Second, the backward participation does not increase the productivities significantly while forward participation leads higher productivity. Third, the productivity improvement effects of GVC participation was larger in the high-tech industries than in the low-tech industries. These results show that GVC participation was helpful for the economic growth of China and the efforts for moving toward upstream production stage in GVC is necessary for the improvement of international competitiveness in Chinese manufacturing industry.
