This study aims at identifying the development strategies for capacity building of intermediary agencies from the survey and analysis of intermediary agencies in the private sector which play an important role in the economic development of Chungnam province. From the review of the literature, we defined the concept of intermediaries as an institute or program which builds and maintains the proper relationship among the various actors. In order to determine the current situation of intermediary agencies and their roles in Chungnam province, we selected nine private industrial institutes and carried out a questionnaire and interview survey. It was identified that they have very limited knowledge of the role of intermediaries, while mainly focusing on the traditional function of lobbying groups. Therefore, a policy needs be developed to allow them to participate in regional development projects, in order to improve their capability to facilitate network activities for regional economic development.

The purpose of this study is to identify differences based on demographic characteristics and travel-related characteristics: first, whether travelers used a domestic travel agency and second whether travelers purchased a full-package travel program. A sample selection probit model was used to provide simultaneous evaluation of the different characteristics of outbound travelers. The present study investigates how tourists make decisions based on two travel-pattern choices. It then goes on to explore the characteristics of outbound travelers from South Korea. The data is drawn from a nationwide survey in South Korea, and a total of 859 surveys were used for analysis. Due to the interdependent nature of the choices, a sample selection probit model was used to estimate outbound tourists' use of domestic travel agency and purchase of full travel package. Significant determinants of domestic travel agency use are identified as age, gender, marital status, party size, children, length of travel, and travel distance, while those of full travel package purchase are age, marital status, and travel purpose. Estimated results provide manifestations of differing travel needs of outbound travelers. the results of this study demonstrate differences between travel-agency users and full-package travel-program consumers and provide determinants that affect the purchase of full-package travel.

With the advent of social networking activity on the Internet, online community sites are becoming more popular. The main purpose of this study is to empirically investigate the influence of intermediary trust and system trust on the forum activity trust and information quality satisfaction. We assume that the intermediary trust and system trust come from the online community site itself, while the forum activity is made within a specific forum allowed on the online community site, and therefore forum activity trust and information quality satisfaction are related to a specific forum. The 591 valid questionnaire data were gathered from the users acting in forums allowed on the Samsung Economic Research Institute (SERI) (www. seri.org). The empirical results are as follows. First, the SERI intermediary trust and its system trust have positive influence on the SERI forum information quality, system quality, and perceived effectiveness. Second, the SERI intermediary trust contributes to reducing the SERI forum perceived risks, while the SERI system quality does not. Third, the higher the SERI intermediary trust is, the higher the SERI forum trust and information quality satisfaction increase.

In the contemporary era of smart tourism, travelers face more accommodation options than ever before. The rapid expansions of alternative accommodation sector are partially owing to the growth of electronic commerce and the rise of online intermediary platforms. Online travel agencies serve as a critical distribution channel for tourism sectors, and the significance is further increased for small and micro entrepreneurs whose direct communication channels are scarce. Considering the holistic process of customer experience started with a third-party online intermediary, this study explores basic and extended attributes of small and medium-sized alternative accommodation where the comparative value is created. In order to achieve the objective, a research design was developed to synthesize the qualitative evidence. The synthesis encompasses both theoretical and practical perspectives, from a systematic review and opinions of academic professionals to an in-depth interview with an industry expert and the current practices of online travel agencies. This study suggests that the sources of value creation for alternative accommodation are not always consistent with those of the traditional. Accounting for the temporal and spatial dynamics in customer experience, the findings of this study provide insights on the comparative value of alternative accommodation, to both academic and industry audiences.

This study In order to understand the mediating role of the LMS learning effect between digital literacy and major satisfaction of nursing students, data were collected from 241 students enrolled in the nursing college of J city. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 23.0. The study results show that digital literacy of nursing students has a positive effect on the LMS learning effect (B=.65, p<.001) and major satisfaction (B=.62, p<.001), and the LMS learning effect on the major satisfaction There was a positive (B = .19, p < .001) correlation between the results, and it was found that the LMS learning effect plays a mediating role in the relationship between digital literacy and major satisfaction of nursing students. Therefore, in order to improve nursing students' major satisfaction, it is necessary to develop and apply a program that can improve not only digital literacy but also LMS learning effects.

This study aims to determine the response of regional economic growth to the financial performance of regional economies in regard to the liquidity conditions, saving-investment gaps, trade openness, inflation, as well as the national economic growth. The basic logic theory of research uses the principles of open economics and financial intermediary systems. The data used in this study are secondary data, and the form of data is a quarterly time series for the period from 2008 to 2019. The data were obtained from various publications, such as the Central Statistics Agency (CSA), Regional Financial Economics Statistics (RFES), Indonesian Banking Statistics (IBS), and the Financial Services Authority (FSA). Data processing was done through VAR/VECM analysis; short-term and long-term equilibrium analyses were carried out. The results of the analysis illustrate that regional economic growth and the conditions of liquidity, saving-investment gaps, trade openness, inflation, and national economic growth are related and lead to significant impact variations in the provinces of Papua and West Papua. In conclusion, the findings of this research support the leading supply hypothesis and reformulate the strategy and policy of economic development, bearing in mind that there are still many underdeveloped districts in these two provinces.

This study explores the role of the think tank as an intermediary organization in the open innovation system. Think tank has contributed to the policy process as a mediator between government and public and as a symbolic entity of intellectual innovation to produce knowledge to the public. As the innovation system matures, one of the major challenges in research and practice is the openness and collaboration in the science, technology, and innovation system. While previous literature highlighted the think tank as the knowledge arbitrager transforming ideas into policy issues, few studies address the research questions: Is the conventional role of the think tank still persistent in the open innovation system? What are the demanding roles? This paper tackles these questions by reviewing the current role of the South Korean think tank in the science & technology sector. Based on the open innovation framework, we suggest that think tanks need to play a bigger role as policy entrepreneurs, crossing policy borders and interacting with other partners.

Avian influenza A viruses (IAVs) present significant threats to both animal and human health through their potential for cross-species transmission and global spread. Clade 2.3.4.4 H5Nx highly pathogenic avian IAVs initially emerged in East Asia between 2013 and 2014. Since then, they have spread to Europe, Africa, and America via migratory bird flyways. However, beyond viral transmission primarily facilitated by migratory birds, the potential involvement of other intermediate factors for virus transmission remains poorly investigated. This study aimed to investigate the role of wild rodents as intermediary hosts in the ecology of avian IAVs in Gyeonggi province, South Korea. By capturing and analyzing 189 wild rodents near poultry farms and migratory bird habitats in 2013 and 2014 and employing serological assays and virus isolation techniques, we found no evidence of IAV infection among these populations. Our results suggest that wild rodents may not significantly contribute to the transmission dynamics of IAVs within these regions.

The mobile electronic notice service (MENS) is a service that delivers a mobile electronic notice to a smartphone in the person's name through an authorized electronic document intermediary instead of a bill that was delivered by mail using paper. In order to provide the MENS, information is needed to identify the same user between the sending agency and the authorized electronic document relay. In this paper, we propose a standard for safe conversion and utilization of Connecting Information (CI) used as user identification information for MENS. In the proposed method, it is necessary for the requesting institution to send the electronic notice to provide the resident registration number to the identity verification institution and convert it into the CI. In this case, a safe and efficient MENS will be possible by proposing a review standard and processing method to verify the appropriateness of the conversion of CI. By applying the proposed method to the MENS, it can contribute to service activation and reinforcement of user privacy protection.

This paper aims to examine the contribution that the ERVET System, composed of ERVET and real service centers, has made to both governing and enhancing regional innovation system in Emilia Romagna, Italy. ERVET and real service centers both establish and perform plans for regional development and innovation. But they also try to provide varieties of real services for local firms, mostly small and medium-sized firms. Attempting to promote innovation networks between industries, universities and administrative bodies, the ERVET System has become a core intermediary agency of Emilia Romagna in both governing regional innovation system and enhancing regional innovation capabilities. Based on the case of the ERVET System, we propose a policy recommendation. As local governments in Korea have still been less autonomous but hierarchical, it would be difficult for them to make the decision effectively on regional innovation and development initiatives. In this context, we suggest that regional development agencies need to be established on the basis of benchmarking advanced cases in Europe and North America such as the ERVET System.
