공작기계용 볼 베어링의 억지끼워맞춤과 내부틈새변화에 관한 해석적 연구 (FE-analysis of Shrink Fits and Internal Clearance for Ball Bearing of Machine Tool)

  • The bearing clearance is influenced by shrink fit and thermal expansion during operation. The designer must take into account the reduction of clearance after installation to the interference fits, and thermal expansion must be considered. The purpose of this study is to grasp the internal clearance variation and behavior of a bearing which is a deep connected with fatigue life of bearing and performance of spindle through FEM(Finite Element Method). Finite element analysis is performed by using commercial code ANSYS according to variation of thermal condition and rotational speeds. This paper presents correct negative internal clearance according to temperature during operation. Furthermore, interrelation between thermal expansion and contraction are presented to maintain adequate contact force for three type of spindle system (HSK-A60, HSK-40E, HSK-32E). The influence of the centrifugal force and Internal clearance variation of bearing is studied to operating rotational speed.

Gene silencing assessment for genes from recalcitrant or poorly studied plant species

  • We have developed an efficient system of assessing the ability of a gene silencing cassette to silence transcripts from recalcitrant or poorly studied plant species by using a model plant as a host for the gene of interest. Tobacco plants transgenic for Lachrymatory Factor Synthase (LFS) enzyme activity from onion were first produced by introducing a CaMV 35S-onion-lfs gene construct. These plants were then subjected to a second transformation with an RNAi construct directed against the lfs gene sequence. LFS enzyme activity assay showed that the transgenic plants, containing both the lfs gene and the RNAi construct, had significantly reduced LFS activity. This observation was supported by Western analysis for the LFS protein and further validated by quantitative RT-PCR analysis that demonstrated a significant reduction in the lfs transcript level in the dual transformants. In this work, we have demonstrated that the RNAi construct is a suitable candidate for the development of a non-lachrymatory onion. Our model plant RNAi system has wide-reaching applications for assessment and targeting of plant secondary pathway genes, from poorly studied or recalcitrant plant species, that are important in the pharmacological, food and process industries.

축소부를 고려한 여수로의 충격파 저감 : 수치모의 (A Numerical Experiment For Interference Waves Reduction In Chute Spillways With Contraction)

  • 여수로는 월류시 한계류 상태와 고유속의 사류상태가 복합적으로 일어나는 복잡한 흐름형태를 가지고 있어 여수로의 단면설계시 수리적인면뿐만 아니라 구조적인 측면에서도 안정해야 하며 경제성이 고려되어야 한다. 그래서 고유속의 흐름을 갖는 여수로에 축소부를 고려할 경우 충격파에 의한 수위상승과 하류의 흐름 교란 등 수리학적인 불안정이 발생하기 때문에 설계시 경제적인 장점이 있음에도 불구하고 단면축소부를 고려하여 여수로를 설계하는 것은 현실적으로 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 단면축소를 고려한 여수로 설계를 위하여 3차원 수치모형인 Flow-3D를 이용하여 충격파로 인하여 발생하는 교차파 저감을 모의하기 위하여 수치실험을 실시하였다. 교차파 저감을 위해 축소부내에서 교차파가 발생하도록 축소부의 각도는 유입흐름 특성을 고려하여 적정하게 설정하였다. 수치실험결과 축소부의 각도가 작을수록 첫번째 교차파의 수위는 크게 발생하지 않으나 단면축소후 교차파가 하류로 전파되어 불안정한 흐름이 연속적으로 발생하고, 과대하게 설정할 경우 첫번째 발생하는 교차파에 의해 중앙부의 수위가 크게 상승하는 결과를 보였다. 또한 본 연구에서는 축소부단면내 회절판(diffractor) 설치전 후의 수리학적 거동을 모의하여 회절판의 흐름개선 효과를 검증하였다.

  • 본 연구는 새로운 영전압, 영전류 스위칭 Forward 컨버터에 관한 것으로 종래의 하드 스위칭(Hard-Switching) Forward 컨버터에 있어서 Turn-off 및 Turn-off시 발생되는 스위칭 손실 및 출력 다이오드 역회복 특성에 따른 손실증가와 스위칭시 발생되는 기생진동을 Forward 컨버터에 있어서 1차측 주 스위칭소자 및 2차측 출력 정류다이오드와 병렬로 무손실 스너버를 적용함으로써 Forward 컨버터의 1차측 스위칭 소자의 Turn-off 및 Turn-on시 영전압, 영전류 스위칭을 이룰 수 있고, 출력 정류다이오드도 영전압, 영전류 스위칭 됨으로 다이오드의 역회복손실 및 기생 진동에 따른 EMI(Electro-Magnetic Interference)를 줄일 수 있는 무손실 스너버 적용 영전압, 영전류 스위칭 Forward 컨버터에 관한 것이다.

플라즈마 합성제트를 이용한 사각 실린더 유동의 제어 (CONTROL OF SQUARE CYLINDER FLOW USING PLASMA SYNTHETIC JETS)

  • Flows over a square cylinder with and without plasma actuation are numerically investigated to see whether plasma actuation can effectively modify vortex shedding from the cylinder and reduce the drag and lift fluctuations. In this study, a plasma synthetic jet actuator is mounted on the rear side of cylinder as a means of direct-wake control. The effect of plasma actuation is considered by adding a momentum forcing term in the Navier-Stokes equations. Results show that the reduction of mean drag and lift fluctuations is obtained for both steady and unsteady actuation. However, the steady actuation is better than the unsteady one in terms of mean drag as well as drag fluctuations. With the strong steady actuation considered, the interaction of two separating shear layers from rear corners is effectively weakened due to the interference of synthetic jets. It results in a merging of synthetic-jet and shear-layer vortices and the increase of vortex shedding frequency. On the other hand, the unsteady actuation generates pulsating synthetic jets in the near wake, but it does not change the vortex shedding frequency for the actuation frequencies considered in this study.

  • This paper presents electromagnetic interference(EMI) suppression method applied on the direct current(DC) motor driver for power tail gate control. EMI noise is generated by the fast switching of power devices connected to electric loads. It has become a matter of concern because of the vast increase in the number and sophistication of electronic system in automotive environment. The proposed EMI reduction method is based on the principle of reducing the transient speed of power devices by changing the parameters of the driver circuit related to the power MOSFET. In this paper, power losses were calculated by loss equations and thermal simulation was used to evaluate the effect on printed circuit board. Based on these results, the DC motor driver was fabricated and tested. The proposed method can help to design a DC motor driver which allows it to obtain an acceptable compromise between power losses and EMI.

  • 슬롯을 이용한 충격파와 난류 경계층의 간섭유동의 피동제어에 관한 연구가 이루어졌다. 슬롯의 다양한 형상 변화가 간섭유동에 미치는 영향이 관찰되었으며, 이를 위하여 간섭유동 후방에서 피토/벽압력 분포 및 쉴리렌, 오일막 간섭 줄무늬 형상과 같은 유동가시화 정보 등이 얻어졌다. 특정한 슬롯적용의 경우, 충격파를 통한 전압손실의 감소가 관찰되었으나 경계층의 두께는 두꺼워지는 것으로 나타났다.

제동 시스템을 위한 고주파수 ECU의 제어 특성 연구 (Study on the Characteristics of Control by High Frequency ECU for Braking System)

  • 본 논문은 제동 시스템에서 전자식 주행안정 제어장치(ESC)의 유압 모듈레이터의 솔레노이드 밸브 제어에 대한 것이다. ESC의 전자제어유니트(ECU)를 제어하기 위한 방법으로 고주파수 제어와 슬로프 제어를 적용하였으며, 서지 압력 및 전자파간섭(EMI) 저감 특성을 연구하였다. 고주파수에서의 전자파 방출을 줄이기 위하여 ECU 출력 단에 슬로프 제어 기능을 추가하였다. 측정결과 제동 시스템에서 고주파수 ECU의 솔레노이드 밸브제어 방법에 따라 서지 압력과 전자파 방출이 저감될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 결론적으로 고주파수 ECU 제어 연구 결과에 의해 제동 시스템 성능을 향상방안을 제시하고자 한다.

Reduction of Common Mode Voltage in Asymmetrical Dual Inverter Configuration Using Discontinuous Modulating Signal Based PWM Technique

  • Conventional space vector pulse width modulation based asymmetrical dual inverter configuration produces high common mode voltage (CMV) variations. This CMV causes the flow of common mode current, which adversely affects the motor bearings and electromagnetic interference of nearby electronic systems. In this study, a simple and generalized carrier based pulse width modulation (PWM) technique is proposed for dual inverter configuration. This simple approach generates various continuous and discontinuous modulating signals based PWM algorithms. With the application of the discontinuous modulating signal based PWM algorithm to the asymmetrical dual inverter configuration, the CMV can be reduced with a slightly improved quality of output voltage. The performance of the continuous and discontinuous modulating signals based PWM algorithms is explored through both theoretical and experimental studies. Results show that the discontinuous modulating signal based PWM algorithm efficiently reduces the CMV and switching losses.

Separation of Burnup Monitors in Spent Nuclear Fuel Samples by Liquid Chromatography

  • A coupled column liquid chromatography system was applied for the separation of the burnup monitors in spent nuclear fuel sample solutions. A reversed phase column was studied for the adsorption behavior of uranyl ions using alpha-hydroxyisobutyric acid as an eluent and used for the separation of plutonium and uranium. A cation exchange column prepared by coating 1-eicosylsulfate onto the reversed phase column was used for the separation of the lanthanides. In addition, retention of Np was checked with the reversed phase column and cation exchange column, respectively, according to the oxidation states to observe the interference effect for the separation of burnup monitors. This chromatography system showed a great reduction in separation time compared to a conventional anion exchange method. A good agreement from the burnup data was obtained between for this method and a conventional anion exchange method to within 1% of a difference for the spent nuclear fuel samples of about 40 GWD/MTU.
