  • The method of Electromagnetic Wave Immunity Test is continuously endeavored by IEC and CISPR as international unification, but it has not been established yet. The main reason is why it is difficult to obtain the measurement method and normalization of threshold to find out the complicated parameters for Electromagnetic Wave immunity Test. So far, thus, the Electromagnetic Wave Immunity Test is carried out case by case as the electromagnetic environment, which is set up Electromagnetic Wave Immunity Test. This study has developed an algorithm and measurement software suitable for IEC1000-4 Regulations, where a ready-made Amplifier, and Signal Generator have been used and an interconnecting Interface Board has been constructed for connecting with the other apparatuses, i.e., RF Switch, Power Meter, Field Sensor, Pre-Amp., etc. Therefore, we have achieved the aim to develop an automated software using OOP method and the measurement system.

  • In this research, Rayleigh instability of gas-liquid flow in annular pipe is studied in film boiling using viscous potential flow. Viscous potential flow is a kind of approximation of gas-liquid interface considering velocity field as potential including viscosity. A dispersion relation is obtained including the effect of heat and mass transfer and viscosity. New expression for dispersion relation in film boiling and critical wave number is obtained. Viscosity and heat and mass transfer have a stabilizing effect on instability and its effect appears in maximum growth rate and critical wave number. And the existence of marginal stability region is shown.

  • The particle velocity in superfluid helium (He II) induced by a gas dynamic shock wave impingement onto He II free surface were studied experimentally by using Schlieren visualization method with an ultra-high speed video camera. It is found form visualization results that a dark zone in the immediate vicinity of the vapor-He II interface region is formed because of the high compressibility of He II and is developed toward bulk He II with the flowing-down speed of the vapor-He II interface. The mass velocity behind a transmitted compression shock wave that is equal to the contraction speed of He II amounts to 10 m/sec, the Reynolds number of which reaches $10^{7}$. This fact suggests that the superfluid shock tube facility can be applied to an experimental facility for high Reynols number flow as an alternative to the superfluid wind tunnel.

  • This paper presents an analytical formulation of the numerical reflection coefficient of the ID-FDTD scheme at the planar dielectric boundary for a TM wave incidence. The reflection coefficient is formulated in an approximate manner, and the accuracy of this method is numerically verified. The effective dielectric constant for a grid on the interface is obtained, and then reduced to that of the Yee scheme for a small cell size.

  • Ceramic metal halide lamps have been widely used due to long lifetime, high luminous efficiency and good colour rendering. In this paper, we developed dimming control system of electronic ballast for 70W ceramic metal halide lamp by using 1-10V interface. The proposed electronic ballast is consists of EMI filter, Full-wave rectifier, Active PFC, DBI(Dual Buck Inverter), Igniter and control circuit. It enables to supply both low-frequency rectangular wave voltage and current to the lamp by using DBI(Dual Bcuk Inverter) structure. By using 1-10V interface, the system that able to dimming the lamp is demonstrated by P-spice simulation and experimental results.

  • The stability of flows induced by a surface acoustic wave (SAW) propagating along the deformable walls in a confined parallel-plane microchannel or slab in the laminar flow regime is investigated. The governing equation which was derived by considering the nonlinear coupling between the deformable or waving interface and viscous fluids is linearized and then the problem is solved by a verified code based on the spectral method together with the associated interface and boundary conditions. The value of the critical Reynolds number was found to be near 1439 which is much smaller than the rigid-wall case: 5772 for conventional pressure-driven flows.

  • To improve survivability of damaged ship, assessment of stability and structural safety, and behavior analysis in wave is required. Prediction of sinking time, damage stability and structural strength considering progressive flooding and dynamic force in wave is very important. To do it, a geometric model which can be express damaged ship is prepared. This paper described the geometric modeler for survivability assessment of damaged ship. The modeler is developed based on 3-D geometric modeling kernel, ACIS. The hull form and compartment definition is available fundamentally. And requirement for modeler contains data generation and interface for hydrostatic calculation, behavior analysis, and longitudinal strength analysis and so on. To easy access modeling system by conventional user such as crew, user interface is developing.

  • Entrainment in thermosyphons and heat pipes was characterized in view of the interfacial stability associated with the critical Weber number and the entrainment limit at the onset of liquid entrainment from the liquid or wicked interface. Both literature review and theoretical analysis on the entrainment models were peformed in order to evaluate accuracy of the predicted value. For this purpose, the models were categorized in two groups according to their entrainment mechanism and interfacial configurations, i.e., the wave-induced entrainment and the shear-induced entrainment, respectively. Thus, the twelve models(five models for the wave-induced entrainment and seven for the shear induced entrainment) were examined to obtain individual trends and their discrepancies from the general tendency of the overall models. As a result, the critical Weber numbers and entrainment limits were calculated and represented as a function of vapor temperature for the chosen characteristic dimensions of the interface.

  • The thermomagnetic effect on plane wave propagation at the liquid-solid interface with nonclassical thermoelasticity is investigated. It is assumed that liquid-solid half-space is under initial stress. Numerical computations are performed for the developed amplitude ratios of P, SV and thermal waves under Cattaneo-Lord-Shulman theory, Green-Lindsay theory and classical thermoelasticity. The system of developed equations is solved by the application of the MATLAB software at different angles of incidence for Green and Lindsay model. The effect of initial stress and magnetic field in the lower half-space are discussed and comparison is made in LS, GL and CT models of thermoelasticity. In the absence of magnetic field, the obtained results are in agreement with the same results obtained by the relevant authors. This study would be useful for magneto-thermoelastic acoustic device field.

  • This paper describes a basic study for the classification of cognitive mental states as a basic research of a human-computer interface technique. To recognize the mental states, we obtained 22 subjects’brain waves in course of two types of experiments. One of the experiments is to choose an answer among yes, no or reject buttons, to underlying questions and the other is to select an icon displayed in a monitor screen. After acquiring the brain wave signals, we construct a feature set with the percent power increase for a given segment with respect to that of the reference period. The linear discriminative algorithm is used to classify the cognitive yes/no mental states.
