A Study on Context Aware Middleware Design and Application (상황인식 미들웨어의 설계와 적용에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes a design and application of middleware that is essential to the context-aware system. We define a transducer interface protocol in order to deal with a variety of context data. For the purpose of systematic process of data between middleware modules, a message oriented middleware is designed and implemented. Memory improves the performance of high-performance computing system compared to previous strategies. Context aware middleware adopts service oriented architecture so that functions in modules may be independent and scalability can be remarkable. Using messages across modules decreases the complexity of the application development. In order to justify the usefulness of the proposed context aware middleware, we carried out our experiments in bridge health monitoring system and verified the efficacy.

  • In order to achieve computer-oriented control and automation of manufacturing processec, a distributed NC (DNC_) system was developed for FMS under the Windows environment. The DNC system consists of conventional DNC, PMC interface and tool management modules. Real-time system conditon monitoring and control fuctions required for machine tools and machining processes were accomplished by developing a PMC interface module called MMC board. Tool condition monitoring and management was performed by the developed tool management module composed of a tool setting probe and softwares. Performance of the DNC system was confirmed on the horizontal and the vertical type machining center equipped with FANUC OMC for the large amount of experiments.

  • A remote controlled mobile robot system has been developed and tested to monitor the radiation area in the nuclear power plant. The mobile robot system operates according to car-driving-like commands and is capable of radiation measurement and visual inspection in unmanned situations under radiation. The robot system is equipped with a radiation sensor and two cameras with appropriate illumination set-ups. The camera with auto-focus function and 8-times zoom lens is mounted on the pan/tilt rotational base and the other is mounted on the front panel of the robot system. All commands regarding the motion of the mobile robot and various sensors are given through the monitoring system which is designed to provide an integrated man-machine interface.

  • This paper designs RDL/PAL interface and performance monitoring tool with providing the Event Expressions. RDL/PAL suggests interface of instrumentation layer and performance analysis layer so that it can extract event data from various trace formats. Also, the Event Expressions is similar to the normal program language, which make possible to obtain result of performance analysis. The programmer can analyze performance regardless of trace format by using the performance monitoring tool which has so much merits.

  • This paper presents a graphic user interface system consisting of graphic simulator and remote control system for a building cleaning robot. It provides a tool of convenient 3D graphical map construction for real world. The 3D map is reconstructed from existing 2D building CAD data with DXF format by using OpenGL graphic API. Through this system, graphic display of robot's status information, remote control and cleaning scheduling can be done for a building cleaning robot. This proposed system is expected to give efficient way of graphic simulation and remote monitoring and control system for a building cleaning robot.

  • 어라운드 뷰 시스템은 승용차의 앞뒤와 좌우 사이드 미러 하단에 1개씩 4개의 카메라를 이용해, 내비게이션 화면에 마치 차를 위에서 찍은 듯한 화면을 만들어 주는 기술이다. 최근 차량의 증가로 인해 사용자의 편의 및 안전에 대한 요구와 의존도가 증가함에 따라 운전자를 위한 보조 시스템이 구축되고 있다. 현재 운전자를 위한 보조 시스템으로 AVM(Around View Monitoring)기술이 개발되었다. 본 논문에서는 현재 시중에 제공되고 있는 다양한 어라운드 뷰 시스템들마다 인터페이스가 다르기 때문에 이를 어떻게 적용되었는지를 각 시스템들마다 비교분석하여 장점들을 알아보고, 이를 통해 각 인터페이스들의 장점들을 종합하여 효율적인 인터페이스를 제시하였다.

  • In this paper, we designed the bay control unit that is based on the microprocessors and integrates with the new technology of electrical, electronic, and mechanical fields. Nowadays the customers have required much more integrated multi-protection relay, monitoring, control devices and power management for better and easier maintenance, performance, electrical system analysis and communication according to new trend of switchboard This bay controller supplies those requirements of customers with easy handling and operation. This bay controller provides a graphic display with rear-lit liquid crystal LCD and push buttons as kinds of HMI(Human Machine Interface). This bay controller provides the parameter setting program, control setting program, various editors and fault recording and analysis program on Windows/95/98/NT/2000/XP for HMI. In addition, this bay controller can be set manually and this manual setting function helps user to interface easily.

  • To improve the productivity of manufacturing company, the analysis of loss in shop floor has to be conducted and validated. This paper introduces the downtime tracking module using the pre-developed shop floor information acquisition system. To collect the downtime, it utilized shop floor monitoring information, user-registered downtime event, equipment diagnosis algorithm and operator's input. Also, it provided the user interface for the analysis of downtime. From the results of a pilot study, the usability of developed system was validated.

  • Earth Anchor method as a supporting system is widely used in the large scale deep excavation of urban areas or slope excavation project. Considering the application frequency of that method and catastrophe of that method under unproper construction management, we can find out many problems relevant to the domestic design and construction management of earth anchor method. When we encounter the cases of rapid increments and various decrements in earth anchor axial forces, considering the characteristic of earth anchor method, it is an essential point to catch the reasons and to prepare countermeasures. This article introduces two actual monitoring examples based on the close analyses of measured data in a typical large scale deep excavation project and slope excavation project. One is a rapidly increasing case of earth anchor axial forces with the continuous advance of incremental deformation in a geological layer interface. And another is a decreasing case of earth anchor axial forces with the construction conditions. The effort of this article aims to improve and develop the technique of design and construction in the coming projects having similar ground condition and supporting method.

  • In field of environments, the control and monitoring devices for sewage disposal facilities have been developed to overcome a problem of the water contamination according to industrialization and urbanization. In order to control and monitor the driving motor and the surroundings states of the sewage disposal facilities installed in local stations, this paper presents the design method of efficient module system interconnected by internal network with serial interface. It is expected that the proposed method in this paper is able to provide the more adaptive and flexible design technique for the specification of condition and factors needed in the fast-changed environment market.
