The primary purpose of this study is to explore the daily lives of gay men and assess their interests in fashion and appearance management with the goal of better understanding the roles or meanings of fashion in their lives. In-depth interview method was adopted and the responses were analyzed qualitatively. Six homosexual men were interviewed, and the outcome of each conversation was recorded and analyzed; each man had a different background and thus showed different behavioral patterns. The life patterns distinct to Korean gays, the importance the highly patriarchal society places on family lineage and mandatory military service, for example, were discussed. Even though the interviewees asserted that their interests in fashion is not related to their sexual orientation, fashion was utilized as a means of self-expression by these gay men.

Due to the emerging of high-speed network, lots of interests of access to remote data have increased. Those interests motivate using of Cooperative Caching that uses remote cache like local cache by sharing other clients' cache. The conventional algorithm like GMS(Global Memory Service) has some disadvantages that occurred bottleneck and decreasing performance because of exchanges of many messages to server or manager. On the other hand, Hint-based algorithm resolves a GMS's server bottleneck as each client has hint information of all blocks. But Hint-based algorithm also causes some problems such as inaccurate information in it, if it has too old hint information. In this paper, we offer the policy that supplement bottleneck and inaccuracy； by using file identifier that can search for the lookup table and by exchanging oldest block information between each client periodically.

The study of Artificial Life Art has affected the development of art using artificial life. Artificial Life Art started as a concern for microscopic organisms and has developed into works producing some creativities through the choices of spectators. The interests in real animals have resulted in the production of artificial animals such as cyber pets, and the interests in humans have been led to the creation of avatars. We will analyze the invisible emotional field of Naoko Tosa's works which use cyber pets and avatars, and clarify how the creative changes of Artificial Life Art affect the development of interactive art.

This paper examines the relationship between children's English proficiency in grade three and English learning environment and experiences before entering elementary school. In English learning environment and experiences, three influences consisting of children, home environment, and environmental influences of English learning are used to find out which influences contributed to children's English proficiency in grade three of elementary school. The result of this study shows that children with high interest in English have higher proficiency in all language skills reading, writing, listening, and speaking than that of children with low interests. For parents' influences, parents' high interests toward their children's English leaning and high monthly income result in children's high English proficiency. For English environmental influences, children who start at the early age and continue studying English have higher English proficiency.

This study explored the factors that influence school life adjustment of children in multicultural families. The subjects were 177 elementary school children of multicultural families from 1st to 6th grade in DC area. The major findings were as follows. 1) The interests in school and the whole-school adjustment were statistically different according to gender of children in multicultural families, family types 2) There were positive correlations among multicultural adjustment, social supports, and school life adjustment. 3) Of all variables, teachers' supports had the greatest influence on the interests in school and the whole-school adjustment, but friends' supports had the greatest influence on compliance of school rules. This study suggests that various efforts from multi levels, such as schools, teachers, and peer groups, for school life adjustment of children in multicultural families.

This study was designed to identify the recent status of the catalog and on-line apparel shopping in Korea and compare to those in the U.S.. Data were gathered from 308 respondents in Korea and 112 in the U.S. by the on-line survey. The results are as follows; 1) The U.S. consumers had more apparel shopping experience and higher level of satisfaction than Korean consumers about the catalog and on line apparel shopping, 2) Although the residents in Taejon area had less apparel shopping experience using catalog and on-line facilities than those in Seoul area, they showed higher level of interests about on-line shopping in Korea. 3) Male respondents had more shopping experience using pc-net and internet than female respondents, and the interests about on-line shopping of the younger group were higher than those of the older age group.

This paper aims to assess the feasibility of a new and less-focused type of online sociability (the watching network) as a useful information source for personalized recommendations. In this paper, we recommend scientific articles of interests by using the shared interests between target users and their watching connections. Our recommendations are based on one typical social bookmarking system, CiteULike. The watching network-based recommendations, which use a much smaller size of user data, produces suggestions that are as good as the conventional Collaborative Filtering technique. The results demonstrate that the watching network is a useful information source and a feasible foundation for information personalization. Furthermore, the watching network is substitutable for anonymous peers of the Collaborative Filtering recommendations. This study shows the expandability of social network-based recommendations to the new type of online social networks.

Proactive Display 시스템은 소셜 웹 콘텐츠를 대형 디스플레이 장치에 표시하여 실세계에서의 상호관계 증진을 도울 수 있는 시스템을 말한다. 지금까지의 Proactive Display 시스템은 개인적인 웹 콘텐츠를 표현할 수 있지만 표현하는 콘텐츠에 초점이 맞춰진 상호활동에 적합한 구조를 가지고 있다. 따라서 웹콘텐츠 소유자에게 초점이 맞춰진 상호활동에서 소셜 웹 콘텐츠를 사용하기 위하여 새로운 구조의 Proactive Display 시스템이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 개인적인 소셜 웹 콘텐츠를 소유자가 이동함에 따라 주변에 배치된 대형 디스플레이 장치에 표현하도록 하는 Moving Interests 시스템의 설계에 대하여 기술한다. 설계된 시스템을 통하여 사용자는 외모뿐만 아니라 생각과 관심사 등을 드러내어 자신을 소개하는데 사용할 수 있다. 또한 시스템 사용자의 상대방도 내형적인 정보를 직관적으로 확인하여 시스템 사용자와 상호관계를 맺을 수 있으므로 설계된 시스템을 이용하면 보다 폭 넓고 깊은 상호관계활동을 수행할 수 있다.

Generally, we want to be searched the newest as well as some appropriate personalized information from the internet resources. However, it is a complex and repeated procedure to search some appropriate information. Moreover, because the user's interests are changed as time goes, the real time modeling of a user's interests should be necessary. In this paper, I propose PREA system that can search and filter documents that users are interested from the World Wide Web. And then it constructs the user's interest model by a modified spreading neural network. Based on this network, PREA can easily produce some queries to search web documents, and it ranks them. The conventional spreading neural network does not have a visualization function, so that the users could not know how to be configured his or her interest model by the network. To solve this problem, PREA gives a visualization function being shown how to be made his interest user model to many users.

The purpose of this study is to develop a model of adolescent's conspicuous consumption on clothes. For this study, questionnaires were administered to 400 adolescents in Kwang-Ju. Employing a sample of 283, data were analyzed by using the structural equation model of the Lisrel analysis, in addition to cronbach's alpha coefficient for reliability and confirmatory factor analysis for validity. The results of this study was found that a conceptual model for adolescent's conspicuous consumption on clothes was judged to provide acceptable goodness of fit. Specifically, materialism and clothing conformity had a direct effect on conspicuous consumption on clothes, and materialism, hedonic shopping orientation and clothing interests had a indirect effect on conspicuous consumption on clothes. The results indicated that clothing conformity had important influence on conspicuous consumption and its influence on adolescent's conspicuous consumption was mediated by materialism, hedonic shipping orientation and clothing interests.
