Recently the number of lectures of offered as part of distance education courses is increasing due to the necessity of continuing education in this era of rapidly changing technologies. To promote this, Web-based distance education systems have been developed and put into practical use. To step further, we propose a virtual space, distance education platform called interactive virtual laboratory. The proposed system is expected to overcome many obstacles in performing the unit operations laboratory at the current setting. The server/client system implementation was programmed with ASP and Visual Basic. The availability of simple and efficient technological supports for dissemination and remote use of virtual lab systems supports more experimental practices regardless of the number of participating students and their locations. Variety of instruments, process equipments and lab procedures are being added to make it a complete package of virtual lab fur undergraduate unit operations course.

In this paper, design of framework architecture of pervasive computing system providing seamless inter space interactions between private and public smart spaces is presented. The seamless inter space interaction issues are related to establishing user's service environment by allocating relevant resources in a new location where there are no prior settings for the user or where there are current users already being served in the new location. In the realm of pervasive computing, we can have different types of smart spaces, offering proactive and intelligent services, which are islands of smart spaces independent from each other. As users move about, they will have to roam from private smart space to public smart space and vice versa. When they enter a new island of smart space, they will have to setup their devices and service manually to get the same or different services they had at the previous location. Users might be living in a non-pervasive computing environment because this manual operation is inappropriate to its generic features of proactive and intelligent services of pervasive computing. The framework architecture will provide seamless inter space interactions initiated by changes in users' location to acquire negotiations of resources for new and current residents regarding service provision with limited available networked devices.

The Korean Astronomical Data Center(KADC) in Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute(KASI) has developed a database of astronomical journals published by the Korean Astronomical Society and the Korean Space Science Society. It consists of all bibliographic records of the Journal of the Korean Astronomical Society(JKAS), Publication of the Korean Astronomical Society(PKAS), and Journal of Astronomy & Space Sciences(JASS). The KADC provides useful search functions in the search page such as search criterion of bibcode, publication date, author names, title words, or abstract words. The journal name is one of the search criterion in which more than one journal can be designated at the same time. The criterion of author name is provided bilingually: English or Korean. The abstract and full text can be downloaded as PDF files. It is also possible to search papers related to a specific research topic published in Korean astronomical journals, provided by the KADC, which often cannot be found the worldwide, Astrophysics Data System(ADS) services. The KADC will become basic infrastructure for the systematic construction of bibliographic records, and hence, make the society of Korean astronomers more interactive and collaborative.

At a time of emphasized need for user-oriented design, methods such as Post Occupancy Evaluation are being used to measure the exact demands of the users. The conventional methods, however, have mostly been conducted based on questionnaires printed on paper, which has posed numerous problems in researches designed to measure the visual demands. Along with the continued development of the internet and computer media, there have been examples of interactive media applications as a means of improving the existing paper-based research methods. This study is a follow-up to the primary study that unveiled cautious variances of the media. 200 samples of media-based researches were extracted to be used in analysis of in-depth visual demands. 200 housewives from rural Iud development zones, who exercises the most influence in household purchases in these regions where the problem of rate of distribution Is coming under the limelight, were chosen as the subjects. The subjects were selected from land development zones of Gimhae-si and Haeundae. At first, the research was prepared as a web-based endeavor but it employed direct research of field personnel in consideration of that this research is in the beginning. This follow-up study deals mainly with the visual demands for which cautious variances were detected in the primary study and includes analysis of mainly ground Plan layout, space coloration, livingroom utilization, and vlsual composition of LDK. Media research had the advantage of zero rate of questionnaire error due to a pre-programmed search routine, and it was possible to ascertain the actual trade-off basis demands of the residents in terms of ground plan layout. In addition, whereas conventional research methods based on still images were susceptible to the preconceptions of the respondents, the interactive media allowed for easy understanding of the spatial layout and thus made it possible for all respondents to provide answers under the same conditions.

This paper tried to study how the narrative to allow the audience to emotionally immerse in documentary using virtual reality platform has shown. For this purpose, it defined the VR documentary as contents what make creative approach and rebuild reality using VR media platform, and analyzed it by comparison with narrative of existing documentary. First, the contents like succeeding journey documentary use mainly virtual realty as experience of accessibility. However the contents that have purpose to experience other people's reality show from self-narrative of first person documentary to interactive storytelling of web interactive documentary. The case of interactive VR documentary is taking a step forward from web documentary and shows easy way to reach internal purpose of documentary as making experience with virtual self. The VR documentary has a lot of possibility as virtual space experience to give accessibility and virtual self.

Recent exhibition's paradigm is changing from the existing unidirectional oriented exhibition form to a form of interactive hands-on exhibits that viewers can get and realistically feel a variety of information. Hands-on exhibit embodies the human interface by utilizing light, sound, pressure, etc. in time and space. In this paper, we have studied the creation of fractal image by the Mandelbrot technique and proposed the interaction method for it to be converted into a variety of forms. By using the proposed method, a variety of image transformation such as printmaking effect, sketch effect, Pop Art effect can be performed, according to clicking a certain fraction on the created fractal image screen by a user mouse. Interactive image generated in this study are expected to be used for trade shows, promotional products, media art design.

The highest percentage of single-person households is older than 60. Many of them live in dilapidated residential space because they are in difficult economic situations. The windows of them often don't exist or don't function properly as windows. As a result, they are suffering from social problems such as depression, solitude. This paper proposes an interactive window interface that reflects external environmental information for older people in their 60s or older of one household living in a dilapidated residential space. This content utilizes an inexpensive TV or PC monitor that doesn't require extra space and cost. Recognizing a user's hand through intuitive touch-sensing technology, which doesn't require much help from older people, this content provides weather videos and temperature information that reflect current external environment. Alert notification sound and SMS service are provided in preparation for more critical user emergencies. This content enables users to feel emotional stability and respond quickly to emergencies.

The relationship between architects and users has been multifarioiusly changed through architectural history. From the viewpoint of using a building, users who experience and interpret the building are as important as architects who design it. In the past, architects are not interested in the role of users. Modern architects only emphasized the concepts of users based on efficiency, and therefore users had the passive role following the design intentions in the space architects had created. However, since the end of modern movement, diverse definitions of users have been attempted. Especially the aesthetics of reception reilluminates the role of users neglected in modern movement. Therefore the one-way relationship between architects-buildings are changing into the interactive relationship between architects-buildings-users, and it results from the fact that users have the ability to reinterpret and create architectural space as well. Users have more creative and positive role in architectural space making and architects, too, reflect these trend in their architecture.

This paper presents a Photovoltaic Generation system using a Space Vector Modulation. PWM voltage source inverter using inverter consists of complex type of electric power converter to compensate for the defect, that is solar cell cannot be developed continuously by connecting with the source of electric power for ordinary use. It can cause the effect of saving electric power, from 10 to 20[%]. Synchronous signal and control signal was processed by the 56F8323 microprocessor for stable modulation. Also, Waveforms output current and voltage of system controlled so that phase conforms and can supply electric power that stabilize by the unit power factor.

The planning process for roadway construction involves a large amount of information on design, construction methods, quantities, unit costs, production rates, and site conditions. Therefore, it is very important to acquire, manage, and process the necessary information efficiently to produce a rigorous construction plan. GIS (Geographic Information System) is a very effective tool for integrating and managing various types of information including spatial and non-spatial data required for roadway construction planning. This paper proposes a GIS-based system for improving roadway construction planning with its 'Interactive Space Scheduling' and 'Operation Level Planning' functions. The proposed system can assist construction planners in a unique way by integrating design and construction information and creating modularized design elements for space scheduling in real time. It is expected that the proposed system could improve the efficiency of roadway construction planning.
