  • Recently, the concept of mobile content service has changed from providing unilaterally contents for single-device to providing same contents for multi-device. This service should be able to provide diverse contents for multi-devices without platform and specification of multi-device. In this study, we propose a bridge technique of heterogeneous smart platform supporting social immersive game. It is possible to access social immersive game by using a multi-platform bridge. To achieve this, we explain techniques of device connection and data transmission between heterogeneous devices using server-client structure and UPnP. It provides an immersive game environment for multi-user, which is able to play in a public place using big screen.

  • A laser moxibustion therapy device having effect similar to that of traditional moxibustion is being developed using 1064 nm infrared laser. The therapy device allows direct interaction of laser light with the tissue rendering temperature distribution both on the skin surface and deep under the skin. We made a device that could measure temperature of deep under the surface of agar gel tissue phantom using thermocouples. A thermal imaging camera was used to verify results from the temperature measurement device. We compared the characteristics of heat transfer inside the tissue phantom during moxibustion and laser irradiation. The temperature distribution measured by thermocouples was found to be similar to that of distribution given by thermal imaging camera.

  • This article shows a set of physical information fusion IoT systems that we designed for smart buildings. Its essence is a computer system that combines physical quantities in buildings with quantitative analysis and control. In the part of the Internet of Things, its mechanism is controlled by a monitoring system based on sensor networks and computer-based algorithms. Based on the design idea of the agent, we have realized human-machine interaction (HMI) and machine-machine interaction (MMI). Among them, HMI is realized through human-machine interaction, while MMI is realized through embedded computing, sensors, controllers, and execution. Device and wireless communication network. This article mainly focuses on the function of wireless sensor networks and MMI in environmental monitoring. This function plays a fundamental role in building security, environmental control, HVAC, and other smart building control systems. The article not only discusses various network applications and their implementation based on agent design but also demonstrates our collaborative information fusion strategy. This strategy can provide a stable incentive method for the system through collaborative information fusion when the sensor system is unstable in the physical measurements, thereby preventing system jitter and unstable response caused by uncertain disturbances and environmental factors. This article also gives the results of the system test. The results show that through the CPS interaction of HMI and MMI, the intelligent building IoT system can achieve comprehensive monitoring, thereby providing support and expansion for advanced automation management.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore types of longitudinal changes in interactions between mothers and 4-year-old children in primary school as well as the effects on media device addiction. To explore interaction types between mothers and children, latent class growth modeling (LCGM) and BCH were used in a three-step approach. Data from the 6-10th wave of the Panel Study of Korea Children were used. First, the trajectory of the mother-child interactions was linear and decreased across time. This linear decrease was classified into the following three trajectories: high-decreasing, average-deceasing, and low-decreasing. Second, BCH was performed to examine media device addiction in each trajectory, and the findings show that children who had low initial mother-child interactions over time were more likely to experience daily disturbances in adaptive functions such as withdraw or tolerance than other groups of children. The results indicate that maximizing the quality of mother-child interactions in childhood through primary school can lower media device addiction in children.

  • This paper explains a control and navigation algorithm of a 6-DOF gait rehabilitation robot, which can allow a patient to navigate in virtual reality (VR) by upper and lower limbs interactions. In gait rehabilitation robots, one of the important concerns is not only to follow the robot motions passively, but also to allow the patient to walk by his/her intention. Thus, this robot allows automatic walking velocity update by estimating interaction torques between the human and the upper limb device, and synchronizing the upper limb device to the lower limb device. In addition, the upper limb device acts as a user-friendly input device for navigating in virtual reality. By pushing the switches located at the right and left handles of the upper limb device, a patient is able to do turning motions during navigation in virtual reality. Through experimental results of a healthy subject, we showed that rehabilitation training can be more effectively combined to virtual environments with upper and lower limb connections. The suggested navigation scheme for gait rehabilitation robot will allow various and effective rehabilitation training modes.

  • Since its introduction (e.g., [4, 6]), virtual coupling technique has been de facto way to connect a haptic device with a virtual proxy for haptic rendering and control. However, because of the single dependence on spring-damper feedback action, this virtual coupling suffers from the degraded transparency particularly during contact tasks when large device/proxy-forces are involved. In this paper, we propose a novel virtual coupling technique, which, by utilizing passive decomposition, reduces device-proxy position deviation even during the contact tasks while also scaling down (or up) the apparent inertia of the coordinated device-proxy. By doing so, we can significantly improve transparency between multiple degree of freedom (possibly nonlinear) haptic device and virtual proxy. In other to use passive decomposition, disturbance observer of [3] is adopted to estimate human force with some dead-zone modification to avoid "winding-up" force estimation in the presence of device torque saturation. Some preliminary experimental results are also given to illustrate efficacy of the proposed technique.

  • This paper presents a measurement system for 3D hand-drawn gesture motion. Many pen-type input devices with Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) have been developed to estimate 3D hand-drawn gesture using the measured acceleration and/or the angular velocity of the device. The crucial procedure in developing these devices is to measure and to analyze their motion or trajectory. In order to verify the trajectory estimated by an IMU-based input device, it is necessary to compare the estimated trajectory to the real trajectory. For measuring the real trajectory of the pen-type device, a PHANToMTM haptic device is utilized because it allows us to measure the 3D motion of the object in real-time. Even though the PHANToMTM measures the position of the hand gesture well, poor initialization may produce a large amount of error. Therefore, this paper proposes a calibration method which can minimize measurement errors.

  • With the rapid development of 5G technology, more and more network functions are interconnected and more popular. In order to effectively manage emerging network concepts, it allows any device object in the real world to be connected anywhere and at any time through the integration of device object recognition, interaction and raw data collection technologies. In addition, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is an architecture framework for transmitting IP-based information to the device object which can be represented as end user. Therefore, the Internet of Things and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IoT-IMS) communication platform can provide a convenient and fast way for user or device objects to deploy new application services effectively. In particular, in order to collect and manage the device information from IoT effectively in the IoT-IMS communication platform, an IoT Information Gateway (IIG) is proposed. Through the IoT Application Service (AS) scenario, the collected device information can be easily observed and managed in a unified way.

  • Kinetic simulations have been performed on an Inertial Electrostatic Confinement Fusion (IECF) device. These simulations were performed using the particle-in-cell (PIC) method to analyze the behavior of ions in an IEC device and the effects of some parameters on the Confinement Time (CT). CT is an essential factor that significantly contributes to the IEC's performance as a nuclear fusion device. Using the PIC method, the geometry of a two-grided device with variable grid radius, the number of cathode grid rings, variable pressure and different dielectric thickness for the feed stalk was simulated. In this research, with the development of previous works, the interaction of particles was simulated and compared with previous results. The simulation results are in good agreement with the previous results. In these simulations, it was found that with the increase of the dielectric thickness of the feed stalk, the electric field was weakened and as a result, the confinement time was reduced. On the other hand, with the increase of the cathode radius, the confinement time increased. Using the results, an IEC device can be designed with higher efficiency and more optimal CT for ions.
