The purpose of this study is to suggest positioning strategy according to franchising family restaurant brands. Discriminant Analysis was utilized to suggest methodological framework that seeks to find their relative positions in the family restaurant brands. As a result, the results show that five factors (employee service, physical environment, marketing, accessibility, and food quality) were extracted from Exploratory Factor Analysis that contains twenty three questions related to service quality of family restaurant. Second, Discriminant Analysis revealed that three factors out of five including employee service, physical environment, and accessibility showed the highest discriminant power. Based on the three factors, positioning maps were made and the location of four brands were identified. Third, service quality, satisfaction, and willingness had a significant influence on revisit intention.

Background: As a result of the South Korean government's medical tourism strategies, the number of UAE inbound medical tourists have the highest annual increase rate among the Middle Eastern countries. The need for medical interpreters in such cases is inevitable, especially considering the languages spoken in both countries differs. The work of a medical interpreter affects patient satisfaction, quality of care, and the UAE patients' revisit intention. However, there is a lack of literature that focuses on the role of medical interpreters for the Arabic-speaking medical tourists in South Korea. The purpose of this study is to assess the satisfaction and the experience of UAE medical tourists in South Korea who have used medical interpretation services. Method: A descriptive exploratory design, including semi-structured interviews, was used in this study to examine factors influencing the satisfaction of UAE patients seeking medical attention in South Korea, who considered travelling exclusively for medical purposes. Eleven UAE medical tourists were selected for the interview using convenience sampling. Results: Two types of interpreters were revealed by the analysis: interpreters with Arabic as their mother tongue and interpreters with Korean as their mother tongue. Patients emphasized the origin of the interpreters and differentiated between the two types of interpreters' professionalism, abilities, and personal skills. However, due to the huge gap between the two cultures, languages, and religions, the UAE patients mainly preferred the Arabic medical interpreters. Further, each type had certain traits that impacted the medical care process and patients' satisfaction. Conclusion: This study shows that the South Korean government needs to focus on the training and assessment system for Arabic language interpreters. Additionally, cultural differences training for the interpreters may help to increase UEA patients' satisfaction.
Busan is a representative of ocean cities in South Korea, which attracts many Chinese tourists. As a number of Chinese tourists increase, Chinese tourists' evaluations of sightseeing resources in Busan appear extremely important. However, there are few researches on Chinese tourists' evaluations of sightseeing in Busan. The purpose of this paper is to analyze Chinese tourists' evaluations of Busan tourism. Chinese tourists who travel to Busan are chosen as research objects and several aspects including marine, fisheries and general tourism are investigated to evaluate the tourists' overall satisfaction of the tourism in Busan. IPA analysis, factor analysis multiple regression analysis are used for the research. The results are as follows. Chinese tourists' evaluations of the importance and performance level of variables on Busan tourism were significantly different (total 19 of 25 variables) and the performance was lower than importance. This means the outputs of the various Busan tourism elements do not live up to their expectations. The findings show that Chinese visitors have high satisfaction on infrastructures of fisheries tourism (e.g. cleanness of aquatic product tourism facilities and sanitary state on fishery products), but low satisfaction in terms of the contents (e.g. unique cooking method experience of seafood and traditional seafood cooking consumption). The factors of fisheries tourism (e.g. product services of fisheries tourism and the attractiveness of seafood in Busan) never affect their satisfaction and intention to revisit and recommend the city.
Purpose - A traditional retail market is a place that offers economic opportunity to employees and employers alike it also is a place where the community can meet. The Korean government has invested three trillion won to improve physical and non-physical aspects in traditional retail markets since 2004. However, little research on this has been conducted. We explore this research gap that could lead to theory extension. We analyze consumption behavior with respect to traditional retail markets through an empirical analysis, thus overcoming limits in previous research. We empirically analyze policy effects of traditional retail market projects supported by the Korean government. Research design, data, and methodology - We propose a traditional retail market improvement plan via the relation between cause and effect resulting from the analysis. More specifically, logit analysis was carried out with 1,754 consumers in 16 cities nationwide. In order to analyze consumer consumption behaviors nationwide, the probability was analyzed using a logit model. This research analyzes the link between support and non-support by the Korean government using binary values. The dependent variable is whether Korean government support is implemented; the binomial logistic regression is used as the statistical estimation technique. The object variables are:1 (support) or 0 (nonsupport), and the prediction value is between 1 and 0. As a result of the factor analysis of questions related to attributes of service quality, four factors were extracted: convenience, product, facilities, and service. Results - The results indicate that convenience, product, and facilities have a significant influence on consumer satisfaction in accordance with the government's traditional retail market support. Additionally, the results reveal that convenience, product, facilities, and service all have a significant influence on consumer satisfaction in a traditional retail market's service quality and consumer satisfaction. Finally, the analysis indicates that the highly satisfied traditional retail market customer has a significant influence on revisit intention. Moreover, the results reveal that the highly satisfied traditional retail market customer has a significant influence on recommendation intention. Conclusions - This research focused on consumers nationwide to measure policy effects of traditional retail markets compared to previous research that focused on one traditional retail market or a specific area. We verified the relationship of service quality and customer satisfaction and consumer behavior based on service quality theory. The results indicate that consumer satisfaction of traditional retail markets supported by service quality factors has a significant impact. In a concrete form, the results indicate that these effects are from facility modernization projects and marketing support projects of the Korean government. The results also imply that these facility and management support effects from the Korean government have been consistent. We realize that the Korean government has to selectively support traditional retail markets in major cities and small and medium-sized cities. To that end, the Korean government needs to select a concentration strategy for the revitalization of traditional retail markets.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of the Korean Wave on Chinese tourism to South Korea through a behavioral analysis of Chinese tourists in the general group package tours. China suppressed the needs of the Chinese people's geographical movement and imposed restrictions on information about the outside world with the use of a policy of "closure" for a long time. But since reforms and open-door policies were introduced in China, especially in the context of relaxation of control policies over Chinese outbound tourism after the mid-1990's, more and more Chinese make trips abroad including visits to South Korea. In this situation, the recent Korean Wave(especially, drama/film) describes the Korean national image by forming a bridge between fiction and reality and plays a pivotal role in broadening or reconstructing the geographical imagination of the Chinese people who have been historically isolated from the outside world. Although Chinese have imagined the Korean nationscape on the basis of geopolitical or economic factors in the past, they have currently broadened or reconstructed their geographical imagination to include socio-cultural factors related closely to the Korean way of life due to the recent Korean Wave. This newly constructed geographical imagination led by the Korean Wave functions as an important pulling factor in Chinese destination choices, affecting Chinese tourists' motivation formation and the recommendation of main attractions. The more influential the Korean Wave is on their destination choice, the more the respondents select the cultural factors in both their motivation for tourism to South Korea and their recommendations of tourism attractions to other people. Through the analysis results of both satisfaction and intention to revisit, the more influential the Korean Wave is on their destination choice, the higher is the degree of both satisfaction and intention to revisit. In other words, although Chinese tourism to South Korea is chiefly in the general group package tours, Chinese tourists who are influenced by Korean Wave on their destination choice have more attachment to(or affection for) Korea as a tourism destination. This result suggests that the Korean Wave affects qualitative change - that is, change of attitude - as well as quantitative change in Chinese demand for tourism to South Korea.
This study has been implemented to identify the level of satisfaction of the Glass spectacle wearers on various services being given by optical shop workers and help them to provide services of higher quality to the spectacle wearers. The objectives of this study are the spectacle wearers who visited to the 5 Designated optical shops located in Seoul area. All the data has been collected for the 2 months period (Oct. 1 through Dec. 1. 1999.) By using structured, self-described research form. All the collected data were 250 copies in total but evaluated 222 copies only as we excluded 28 copies which has uncertain reply/contents. Major results are as follows: 1. The proportions of objectives by sex was male 54.1%, female 45.9% and by Academic career was University graduates 35.1%, High school graduates 32.4%. 2. The factors impects on the satisfaction level of spectacle wearers were the Employee's service and the status of frame. 3. the factors impacts on the intention for revisit the optical shops were facility status, the responsiveness on wearer s opinion and the employee s services. The factors impect the wearers to build up intention to recommend the visited optical Shops to the 3rd costomer were employee s services, the status of frames, the facility Status and the price level they paid. Considering the results of this study above mentioned, in order to raise up the satisfaction level of glass spectacle wearers, it s thought that the employee (optician) of optical shops have to well acquainted fluent knowledge on the glass spectacles and detailed to the spectacle wearers in a gentle manner and let them build up the reliabily.
The purpose of this study is to classify the customers according to the characteristics of the relational benefits and to compare the performances of the sub-groups. As a result of the research, the group type according to the relational benefits was subdivided into 3 groups, and each group was named emotional relational group, continuous relational group and intermittent relational group considering customer characteristics. First, the emotional relational group is the group that emphasizes the empathy and assurance between the service provider and the customer, and the continuous relational group is the group with the highest social, confidence and economic benefits. The intermittent relational group was simply a transaction-oriented group. This implies that a differentiated customer management strategy is needed for each relational benefit group based on customer experience in medical services.
Objectives The purpose of this study is to carry out a survey on satisfaction for Korean medicine treatments in traffic injury patients. Methods Satisfaction survey was carried out on the 237 traffic injury patients who had been treated by Korean medicine treatments in Department of Korean Rehabilitation Medicine, Wonkwang University Gwangju Medical Center from February, 2017 to August, 2017. The questionnaire form of preceding study was used to assess the satisfaction degree of patients. All data were coded by SPSS v20.0 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA) and analysed by descriptive maneuver, x2-test, T-test and correlation. Results Among the 237 cases, the first hospital to be selected for traffic injury treatment was Korean medicine hospital in 91 cases. And 97 patients were transferred from the western medicine hospital. The main reason for choosing Korean medicine hospital was that the patients prefer Korean medicine treatments than western medicine treatments. 85.2.% of patients answered that their symptoms were improved, and 75.1% of patients answered that they were satisfied with Korean medicine treatments. The satisfaction degree of cupping treatment and acupuncture was relatively high, but the degree of Herbal medicine and physical treatment was relatively low. There were no statistically significant differences in satisfaction degree with sex and age. The satisfaction degree, improvement of symptoms, intention to revisit and intention to recommend was significantly correlated each other. Conclusions The degree of improvement of symptoms and The satisfaction degree were revealed relatively high. Additional and repetitive studies are needed to understand the patient's position and improve the quality of Korean medicine treatments for traffic accident patients.
Franchise restaurants in Korea are making efforts to improve service quality by developing and following service quality manuals to provide uniform services. This study was conducted to verify the fact that such efforts to provide uniform services would increase customer satisfaction and influence customers' decision to revisit. After setting up research models and hypotheses, the survey was conducted for 30 days from April 1 to 30, 2008 and a total of 279 copies were analyzed. The result of this study includes three findings. First, among the independent variables pertaining to the influence of uniform service quality on customer satisfaction, service uniformity, brand uniformity, and space arrangement uniformity were most influential. Also, among the brand image variables, service uniformity was most influential on customer satisfaction. Second, it was found that uniform service quality had positive influence on customers' behavioral intentions and that menu was the most influential factor. Third, it was found that higher customer satisfaction had greater influence on customers' behavioral intentions.
The purpose of this paper is to conceptualize the brand of tourism resources and examine the effects of brand equity on brand loyalty focusing on the brand of tourism resources in cities and counties level. To this end, we reviewed the literatures and analysed 410 surveys from the 8 provinces. The results show that brand awareness and brand image of tourism resources have significant effects on brand preference, and brand awareness, image and preference have effects on brand loyalty measured by revisit and recommendation intention. However the one of most important results is the brand equity(awareness, image, preference) has partially significant effects on brand loyalty under the effects of visitor's satisfaction. Additionally, the positive effect of brand awareness on brand image is examined. More specific results and implications are provided.
