With the advancement of computers, opening title sequences in movies are continuously improving. Initially, titles and opening credits were created using what is called the optical method, whereby text was photographed on separate film and then copied onto the movies film negative. In contemporary movie making, however, the title sequence may be seamlessly integrated into the beginning of the movie by an insertion method that not only allows for more diverse technical expression, including the use of both 2D and 3D graphics, but also for its emergence as an independent art form. As such a title sequence, in as little as 50 seconds or up to 10 minutes, is able to convey the films concept while also suggesting more implicit intricacies of plot and thereby eliciting greater interest in the movie. Moreover, according to the directors intent and for a variety of purposes, the title sequence, while maintaining its autonomy, is inseparable from the movie as an organic whole; therefore, it is possible to create works that are highly original in nature. The purpose of this study is to analyze the kinetic typography that appears in title sequences of ten films produced by the Korean entertainment industry in 2012. Production techniques are analyzed in a variety of ways in order to predict the future direction of opening title sequences, as well as present aesthetic and technical models for their creation.
From the beginning of the construction stage, the fire protection regulation for the nuclear power plants conforms to the design requirements for the acquisition of the license permit. This regulation is based on the plant status of the normal operation, but it is not enough to be used as an application standard for fire protection at the transient mode of the plant and the outage time for refueling as well as for the plant decommissioning. While the advanced fire protection requirement that has been developed in America recently suggests the performance-based requirement and management rule applicable to the overall life time of the plant, it simply represents the conceptual application. It means that it can not be treated as appropriate standards because it does not deal with the qualitative and quantitative approach in specific ways. By the way, with the use of the performance-based fire risk analysis, the dynamic behavior of the heat and smoke at the fire compartment of the nuclear power plants can be analyzed and the thermal effect to the safety-related equipment and cables can be evaluated as well. At this paper, it suggests the ways to change the applicable fire protection regulations and the required evaluation items for the fire risk resulted from the plant configuration change with an intent to introduce the state-of-the-art quantitative fire risk analysis technology at the domestic nuclear power plants.

This study aims to present the ground for the introduction of energy-saving landscape facilities which can meet the requirements of the age and create a new space by introducing the facilities which saves energy and that users prefer at the space where urbanites enjoy leisure activities in the urban parks. Thus, in addition to a spatial analysis of the parks for 10 urban parks in Gimpo, through an attitude survey on the users' behaviors, the following conclusions were drawn out. First, as a result of putting all facilities in the urban parks in Gimpo, on average, 6.9 out of the standards of 9 (76.6%) have been installed, and as a result of an analysis on the total number of the installed facilities, on average, about 28 kinds of facilities have been installed, so only 22.4% of the total 125 facilities were installed. Second, many urbanites are using the parks for the purpose of taking a walk and exercise to improve their health; however, the legal standards regulate only 2.9 exercise facilities on average in the target area, which are somewhat insufficient. Third, regarding the citizens' intent to participate in responding to climate change, 76% of them showed their intention of participation. Thus, if the energy-saving facilities, the purpose of this study, are introduced, many users will use them, and it is judged that costs for existing street lights and electric power plants will decrease. Fourth, as a result of an analysis of their satisfaction with the facilities, the value of R-square meaning the explanatory power of the independent variables put in a linear model for dependent variables was 0.860, approximately 81% of the total satisfaction, which was a high explanatory power. This study conducted an attitude survey on the users of urban parks in Gimpo at the dimensions of the introduction of energy-saving facilities in the urban parks, the national policies and responses to climate change. It is significant that it identified the appropriateness of developing much more energy-saving landscape facilities needed for low-carbon green growth in various types, and as a subsequent project, a more precision study on this is necessary continuously.

With emergence of Internet, social media, and mobile service, the consumers have actively presented their opinions and sentiment, and then it is spreading out real time as well. The user-generated text data on the Internet and social media is not only the communication text among the users but also the valuable resource to be analyzed for knowing the users' intent and sentiment. In special, economic participants have strongly asked that the social big data and its' analytics supports to recognize and forecast the economic trend in future. In this regard, the governments and the businesses are trying to apply the social big data into making the social and economic solutions. Therefore, this study aims to reveal the capability of social big data analysis for the economic use. The research proposed a social big data analysis model and an online consumer sentiment index. To test the model and index, the researchers developed an economic survey ontology, defined a sentiment dictionary for sentiment analysis, conducted classification and sentiment analysis, and calculated the online consumer sentiment index. In addition, the online consumer sentiment index was compared and validated with the composite consumer survey index of the Bank of Korea.
Background: Maintenance chemotherapy is one strategy pursued in recent years with intent to break through the chemotherapy plateau for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, given the toxicity, platinum-based combinations are rarely given for this purpose. We carried out the present prospective study of triplet platinum-based combination sequential chemotherapy in advanced NSCLC to investigate if patients could tolerate and benefit from such intensive treatment. Methods: From Dec 2003 to Dec 2007, 190 stage IIIB and IV NSCLC patients in Sun yat-sen University sequentially received the 3 platinum-based combination (TP-NP-GP) treatment (T: paclitaxol175$mg/m^2$ d1; N: vinorelbine25$mg/m^2$ d1 and 8; G: gemcitabine1$g/m^2$ d1 and 8; P: cisplatin20$mg/m^2$ d1-5; repeated every 3 weeks). Patients were followed up to at least 3 years to obtain survival data. Treatment toxicities and the quality of life (QOL) were assessed during the whole treatment. Results: There were 187 patients evaluable. The TP, NP and GP response rates with sequential use were 42.8% (80/187), 41.1% (65/158) and 28.8% (21/73) respectively. Median survival time was 18.2 months and the 1, 2 and 3 year overall survival (OS) rates were 78.7%, 38.5% and 21.3%. Patients receiving > 6 cycles of chemotherapy had significantly longer OS and TTP (MST 25.3 vs. 14.5 months, TTP 15.1 vs. 9.1 months). The QOL on the whole for the patients was improved after chemotherapy. Conclusions: The sequential chemotherapy strategy with triplet platinum-based combination regimens can improve the survival outcome and the quality of life of advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients.

This study investigates the performance of composite (steel-concrete) frame structures through numerical experiments on individual connections. The innovative aspects of this research are in the use of connections between steel beams and concrete-filled tube (CFT)columns that utilize a combination of low-carbon steel and shape memory alloy (SMA) components. In these new connections, the intent is to utilize the recentering provided by super-elastic shape memory alloy tension bars to reduce building damage and residual drift after a major earthquake. The low-carbon steel components provide excellent energy dissipation. The analysis and design of these structures is complicated because the connections cannot be modeled as being simply pins or full fixity ones they are partial restraint (PR). A refined finite element (FE) model with sophisticated three dimensional (3D) solid elements was developed to conduct numerical experiments on PR-CFT joints to obtain the global behavior of the connection. Based on behavioral information obtained from these FE tests, simplified connection models were formulated by using joint elements with spring components. The behavior of entire frames under cyclic loads was conducted and compared with the monotonic behavior obtained from the 3D FE simulations. Good agreement was found between the simple and sophisticated models, verifying the robustness of the approach.
Purpose: Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols for gastric cancer patients have shown improved outcomes in Asia. However, data on gastric cancer ERAS (GCERAS) programs in the United States are sparse. The purpose of this study was to compare perioperative outcomes before and after implementation of an GC-ERAS protocol at a National Comprehensive Cancer Center in the United States. Materials and Methods: We reviewed medical records of patients surgically treated for gastric cancer with curative intent from January 2012 to October 2016 and compared the GC-ERAS group (November 1, 2015-October 1, 2016) with the historical control (HC) group (January 1, 2012-October 31, 2015). Propensity score matching was used to adjust for age, sex, number of comorbidities, body mass index, stage of disease, and distal versus total gastrectomy. Results: Of a total of 95 identified patients, matching analysis resulted in 20 and 40 patients in the GC-ERAS and HC groups, respectively. Lower rates of nasogastric tube (35% vs. 100%, P<0.001) and intraabdominal drain placement (25% vs. 85%, P<0.001), faster advancement of diet (P<0.001), and shorter length of hospital stay (5.5 vs. 7.8 days, P=0.01) were observed in the GC-ERAS group than in the HC group. The GC-ERAS group showed a trend toward increased use of minimally invasive surgery (P=0.06). There were similar complication and 30-day readmission rates between the two groups (P=0.57 and P=0.66, respectively). Conclusions: The implementation of a GC-ERAS protocol significantly improved perioperative outcomes in a western cancer center. This finding warrants further prospective investigation.
Purpose: To evaluate the incidence and prognostic factors of treatment-related pneumonitis in non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC) patients treated with intensity modulated radiation therapy(IMRT). Materials and Methods: One-hundred-five patients with NSCLC treated with IMRT between 1 August 2004 and 30 November 2006 were analyzed retrospectively. The mean age of patients was 62.9 years, and squamous carcinomas were confirmed in 81 patients(77%). Sixty-six patients(62.9%) were classified as stage III, and 59 patients had lesions in the right lung. Twenty-seven patients were treated with a dose of 3,060 cGy preoperatively, and 10 patients were given a dose of 5,040 cGy postoperatively. Sixty-eight patients received a dose of 7,020 cGy for curative intent. Sixty-eight patients were treated with the use of the CORVUS planning system and 37 patients were treated with the use of the ECLIPSE planning system. Results: Of 105 patients, 21 patients(20%) had abnormal radiological findings, but only seven patients(6.7%) required treatment for radiation pneumonitis. Six of the seven patients had other serious lesions, including a bronchioesophageal fistula(one patient), recurrence in the treatment field(two patients), brain metastasis(one patient) and lung-to-lung metastasis(two patients); all of these patients died within 19 months after radiation treatment. Sixteen patients(23.5%) that received planning with the CORVUS system had abnormal lung findings. Five patients(13.5%) had abnormal lung findings with the use of the ECLIPSE planning system. Other prognostic factors such as perioperative radiation therapy, a volume over 10% of the V20 volume in the right lung, were also statistically significant. Conclusion: This retrospective analysis suggests that IMRT could be a beneficial treatment modality for the reduction of radiation pneumonitis in NSCLC patients. However, the higher incidence of abnormal radiological findings in perioperative patients treated with relatively lower doses($3,060{\sim}5,040$ cGy) suggest the need for judicious treatment planning in preoperative or postoperative treatment.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics and the psychosocial factors associated to the referral to psychiatric care in the suicide attempters visiting emergency center. Methods: We conducted a systematic chart review of 377 suicidal attempters visiting emergency center of the Korea University Ansan Hospital between January 2008 and December 2011. We gathered a data contain 20 items including psychosocial characteristics and factors related to suicide and factors related to psychiatric treatment. Multivariate logistic regression models were fitted to data to estimate the unique effects of sex, drunken status, companion, suicidal methods, place of suicide and current use of psychiatric medication on the referral to psychiatric care. Results: The female gender(OR=1.63, 95% CI=0.99-2.69), suicidal attempts at home(OR=3.40, 95% I= 1.21-9.56) and drunken state at visit(OR=2.34, 95% CI=1.10-5.01) are the factors that predict the risk of the non-referral of the patients to psychiatric intervention. Place of suicidal attempt was the most important factor do play a role in determining whether referral to psychiatric care will take place or not. Current use of psychiatric medication showed a trend toward significance(p=0.08, OR=1.67, 95% CI=0.95-2.95). Conclusions: These results suggest that when deciding whether to adapt or to refuse the referral to psychiatric care, the factors such as suicidal intent, lethality of suicide methods, familiar factors and alcohol may contribute onto the referral to psychiatric care. Additional research is required to investigate an association of these factors with referral to psychiatric care.

Multi-leaf collimator (MLC) systems are frequently used to deliver photon-based radiation, and allow conformal shaping of treatment beams. Many proton beam centers currently make use of aperture and snout systems, which involve use of a snout to shape and focus the proton beam, a brass aperture to modify field shape, and an acrylic compensator to modulate depth. However, it needs a lot of time and cost of preparing treatment, therefore, we developed the manual MLC for solving this problem. This study was carried out with the intent of designing an MLC system as an alternative to an aperture block system. Radio-activation and dose due to primary proton beam leakage and the presence of secondary neutrons were taken into account during these iterations. Analytical calculations were used to study the effects of leaf material on activation. We have fabricated tray model for adoption with a wobbling snout ($30{\times}40cm^2$) system which used uniform scanning beam. We designed the manual MLC and tray and can reduce the cost and time for treatment. After leakage test of new tray, we upgrade the tray with brass and made the safety tool. First, we have tested the radio-activation with usually brass and new brass for new manual MLC. It shows similar behavior and decay trend. In addition, we have measured the leakage test of a gantry with new tray and MLC tray, while we exposed the high energy with full modulation process on film dosimetry. The radiation leakage is less than 1%. From these results, we have developed the design of the tray and upgrade for safety. Through the radio-activation behavior, we figure out the proton beam leakage level of safety, where there detects the secondary particle, including neutron. After developing new design of the tray, it will be able to reduce the time and cost of proton treatment. Finally, we have applied in clinic test with original brass aperture and manual MLC and calculated the gamma index, 99.74% between them.
