모델 불확실성을 가지는 로봇 시스템을 위한 지능형 슬라이딩 모드 제어 (Intelligent Sliding Mode Control for Robots Systems with Model Uncertainties)

  • This paper proposes an intelligent sliding mode control method for robotic systems with the unknown bound of model uncertainties. In our control structure, the unknown bound of model uncertainties is used as the gain of the sliding controller. Then, we employ the function approximation technique to estimate the unknown nonlinear function including the width of boundary layer and the uncertainty bound of robotic systems. The adaptation laws for all parameters of the self-recurrent wavelet neural network and those for the reconstruction error compensator are derived from the Lyapunov stability theorem, which are used for an on-line control of robotic systems with model uncertainties and external disturbances. Accordingly, the proposed method can not only overcome the chattering phenomenon in the control effort but also have the robustness regardless of model uncertainties and external disturbances. Finally, simulation results for the five-link biped robot are included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • We've been following research on the obstacle avoidance that is based on fuzzy control. We previously proposed a new method of automatically generating membership functions, which play an important role in improving accuracy of fuzzy control, by using genetic programming (GP). In this paper, we made two improvements to our proposed method, for the purpose of achieving better intelligence in fuzzy robots. First, the mutation rate is made to change dynamically, according to the coupled chaotic system. Secondly, the population partitioning using deme is introduced by parallel processing. The effectiveness of these improvements is demonstrated through several computer simulations.

  • To accomplish various and complex tasks by intelligent robots, improvement is needed not only in mechanical system architecture but also in control system architecture. Hybrid control architecture has been suggested as a mutually complementing architecture of the weak points of a deliberative and a reactive control. This paper addresses a control architecture of robots, and a behavior representation methodology. The suggested control architecture consists of three layers of deliberative, sequencing, and reactive as hybrid control architecture. Multi-layer behavior model is employed to represent desired tasks. 3D simulation will be conducted to verify the applicability of suggested control architecture and behavior representation method.

  • Abstract MOCIE(Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy) handles 6 Projects for Intelligent Robot, whose budget is around 40 Million dollars per year. In this paper we have tried to analyze the state of robot technology of the projects. Each sub-projects has been divided according to the technological classification. Two major projects of Next Generation Growth Engine and 21C Frontier show different state each other. The former is focused on the product while the latter on the technology. Output of 21C Frontier should be linked to the Next Generation Growth Engine, otherwise, it will fail to advance. The project management handles only the quantitative performance such as business results, number of prototype, and number of patents and papers. Technological Capability is essential and it should be managed. This paper proposes efficient classification of robot technology and technology index.

  • In this paper, collision avoidance of two robots working in a common workspace is described. The workspace for a two robot system is defined and classified. JCM (Joint Constraint Map) is designed which shows the region of joint values that must be avoided for collision free motion, and application of the JCM is studied.

  • 로봇은 조립, 도장, 용접 등 단순 반복 작업이나 위험한 지역의 탐사 및 산업현장에서 벗어나 좀더 다양한 분야로 발전되어지고 있다. 최근 로봇의 형태는 인간의 명령을 이행하고 스스로 학습하며, 감정을 지닐 수 있는 인공지능을 내장한 로봇이다. 활용의 예 중에는 '가족 도우미'의 역할을 수행하는 로봇으로 가사, 방범, 오락, 교육 그리고 인공비서 등의 기능을 담당하는 형태로 향후 가정의 필수품으로 자리 잡을 전망이다. 이러한 가정용 로봇의 구현을 위해서 인공지능의 요소를 활용하는 것은 당연하다. 일차적으로 로봇이 여러 가지의 기능을 수행하기 위해서는 환경 정보를 받아들이는 센서의 역할이 크며 이런 센서를 사용조건에 맞게 활용하는 것도 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 로봇에 부착된 여러 개의 센서를 응합하고 융합된 여러 종류의 센서값을 이용하여 로봇이 주변환경에 맞게 행동을 할 수 있도록 소프트 컴퓨팅 기법을 이용하였다. 또한 로봇의 행동모듈을 구성하여 인간에게 시각$.$청각적인 효과를 줄 수 있도록 인간 친화형 지능 로봇을 구현하고자 한다.

이종 해양로봇의 협력제어를 위한 지능형 경로 계획 및 추종 (Intelligent Path Planning and Following for Coordinated Control of Heterogeneous Marine Robots)

  • 실제 시스템 적용에 있어서, 수중음향 통신(underwater acoustic communication)에 기반한 이종 해양로봇의 협력제어(coordinated control)를 위한 경로 계획 및 추종(path planning and following) 시스템은 다음의 문제점을 가지고 있다. 즉, 수상 및 수중로봇은 기동 특성이 상이하며, 수중로봇은 더욱 효과적인 운용이 요구되며, 음파의 전달 손실(Transmission Loss : TL)로 통신 거리 제한을 가지며, 음파의 도플러 변형(Doppler distortion)으로 통신 오류를 갖는다. 나아가, 구조와 파라메터의 관점에 있어서 용이한 설계 절차를 요구한다. 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위해서 시스템 모델링에 기초하여 진화 전략(Evolution Strategy : ES) 및 퍼지논리 제어기(Fuzzy Logic Controller : FLC)를 이용하는 지능형 경로 계획 및 추종 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘의 성능을 검증하기 위해 수상로봇의 기동에 따른 수중로봇의 경로 계획 및 추종이 수행되었다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 제안된 알고리즘이 제기된 문제점들을 효과적으로 해결하고 있음을 보여준다.

  • In this work, we propose a new framework of robot control for a variety of applications to our unstructured everyday environments. Programming robots can be a very time-consuming process and seems almost impossible for ordinary end users. To cope with this, this work is to provide a software framework for building robot application programs automatically, where we have robots learn how to accomplish a commanded task from the object. An integrated sensing and computing tag is embedded into every single object in the environment. In the robot controller, only the basic software libraries for low-level robot motion control are provided from the robot manufacturer. The main contributions of this work is to develop a server platform that we call Omniscient Server that generates the application programs and send them to the robot controller through the network. The object-related information from the object server merges into robot control software to generate a detailed application program based on the task commands from the human. We have built a test bed and demonstrated that a robot can perform a common household task within the proposed framework.

  • In this paper, we propose a new design method of an optimal fuzzy logic controller using co-evolutionary concept. In general, it is very difficult to find optimal fuzzy rules by experience when the input and/or output variables are going to increase. Futhermore proper fuzzy partitioning is not deterministic ad there is no unique solution. So we propose a co-evolutionary method finding optimal fuzzy rules and proper fuzzy membership functions at the same time. Predator-Prey co-evolution and symbiotic co-evolution algorithms, typical approaching methods to co-evolution, are reviewed, and dynamic fitness landscape associated with co-evolution is explained. Our algorithm is that after constructing two population groups made up of rule base and membership function, by co-evolving these two populations, we find optimal fuzzy logic controller. By applying the propose method to a path planning problem of autonomous mobile robots when moving objects applying the proposed method to a pa h planning problem of autonomous mobile robots when moving objects exist, we show the validity of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we discuss a service to give alarm in the case of emergency for the old and the weak by human behavior recognition in Intelligent Space. Our Intelligent Space consists of mobile robots, sensors and agents. And these components are connected to network framework. Agent analyzes data acquired from networked sensors and determines task of robots and a space to provide a service for humans. In our emergency alarm service, human behavior recognition service module analyzes accelerometer data obtained from body-attached human behavior sensing platform, and classifies into four basic human behavior such as walking, running, sitting and falling-down. For the old and the weak, falling-down behavior may bring about dangerous situations. On such an occasion, agent executes emergency alarm service immediately. And then a selected mobile robot approaches fallen person and sends images of the person to guardians. In this paper, we set up a scenario to verify the emergency alarm service in Intelligent Space, and show feasibility of the service from our simulation experiments.
