Design of Multiple Channel Wireless Remote Control System for Unmanned Vehicle (무인차량용 다중채널 무선원격 제어시스템의 설계)

  • In this paper, a design of multiple channel wireless remote control system for unmanned vehicle is proposed. One of serious problems of the previous wireless remote control system is that it does not work when a control channel is damaged in case of emergency because it's composed of single control channel. Therefore, we propose the multiple channel wireless remote system which is composed of a portable wireless remote controller and a stationary wireless remote controller. The portable wireless remote controller and stationary wireless remote controller are designed and the multiple channel wireless remote control system for unmanned vehicles in developed. By applying to the unmanned vehicle to check its performance. The wireless remote control system is tested. Emergency stop using the portable wireless remote controller is tested when the stationary wireless remote controller is damaged. Also, emergency stop using the stationary wireless remote controller is tested when the portable wireless remote controller is damaged. The result of emergency stop test shows satisfied performance.

  • In this paper, we implement the internet- based remote control system for intelligent robot. For remote control of the robot, it uses the socket communication of the TCP/IP. It consists of- the user interface and the robot control interface. Robot control interface transmits the navigation and environmental informations of the robot into the user interface. In order to transmit the large environmental images, a JPEG compression algorithm is used. User interface displays the navigation status of the robot and transmits the navigation order into the robot control interface. Also, we propose the design method of the fuzzy controller using navigation data acquired by expert's knowledge or experience. To do this, we use virus-evolutionary genetic algorithm(VEGA). Finally, we have shown the proposed system can be operated through the real world experimentations.

  • As many sensors and actuators are used in many automated systems, various industrial networks are adopted for real-time distributed control. In order to take advantages of the networking, however, the network implementation should be carefully designed to satisfy real-time requirements considering network delays. This paper presents the implementation of a remote feedback control system via Profibus-DP net work for real-time distributed control More specifically, the effect of the network delay on the control performance evaluated on Profibus-DP testbed. Also, the traditional PID gain tuning methods are used to demonstrate the feasibility of the remote feedback control.

  • This paper proposes a new Internet based control concept & design method and implementation of LonWorks network system for remote intelligent control. The experimental network system using i.LON Web server is designed and fabricated. It is also verified that the developed control modules with LonTalk protocol have available, interoperable, and reliable performance characteristics from the experimental results. Especially, the results provide a available technical data for remote home, building & plant automation control.

  • This paper introduces an approach to the realization of an ICT-based bridge remote monitoring system that enables real-time monitoring and controlled adjustments for unexpected heavy loads and also for damaging earthquakes or typhoons. In this paper, an integrated bridge remote monitoring system called the "Intelligent Bridge", which consists of a stand-alone monitoring system (SMS) and a web-based Internet monitoring system(IMS), was developed for not only bridge maintenance but also as an application for a para-stressing bridge system. To verify the possibility of controlling the actual structural performance of an "Intelligent Bridge", a model 2-span continuous cable-stayed bridge with adjustable cables was constructed. The experimental results demonstrate that the implemented monitoring system supplies detailed and accurate information about bridge behaviour for further evaluation and diagnosis, and it also opens up prospects for future application of a web-based remote system to actually adjust in-service bridges under field conditions.

  • Because of advanced control technology, Shop floor control system of various kinds of equipment and machinery need a web based remote monitoring to control process efficiently. This paper presents the development of Operation Control System. Operation Control System(OCS) is based on intelligent web monitoring, so that OCS is improved the working condition for the line of heat treatment process and the product's quality. The developed OCS is consisted of Atmega128(MCU) based on embedded system, running the data logging of the line of heat treatment process. Web monitoring system is based on CS8900 ethernet controller and TCP/IP for remote monitoring responsibility between a server and clients and controlling the progress of entire system. The developed OCS is implemented on the line of heat treatment process and shows the improvement of environment condition, product's quality and efficiency of process line.

  • Smart home System is shirt-sleeve, the automatic control systems, computer network system and network communication technology in the integration of network intelligent home control system.   • It is materialized an unmanned vehicle system as a part of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) which is a fundamental constituent for unmanned vehicle. Remote control system, monitoring system and remote operating system which are consisted of unmanned vehicle system. Network program by TCP/IP socket, and real-time control & operating controlled by servo-motors from a remote place, those are used to verify safety and stability of the unmanned vehicle system in this research. This unmanned vehicle is divided into two major sections which are an unmanned vehicle part and control station part. The server PC is installed on the unmanned vehicle and a client PC is installed at a remote place, which can control the u manned vehicle. In this research work, main theme is that we experimented and tested to check the speed and utilization of the wireless LAN communication.

In order to take advantages of the networking, however, the network implementation should be carefully designed to satisfy real-time requirements considering network delays. This paper presents the implementation scheme of a networked control system via Profibus-DP network. More specifically, the effect of the network delay on the control performance was evaluated on a Profibus-DP testbed, and a GA based PID tuning algorithm is proposed to demonstrate the fesibility of the networked control system.
