  • 'Ubiquitous' based on progressive development of IT technology is a new paradigm of the 21th century. In terms of rapid social and technological change, the architectural environment has been changed by computer networking system. According to the condition of the IT business, interior architectural space has been needed to consider applying IT technology for intelligent living environment. To develop the most appropriate architectural interior space applied by home network system, designers need to understand products of the home network system comprised by technical bases and classification of the system. This research is for introducing the information of the recent home network system, products and possible application of ubiquitous system for the future interior architectural space.

  • 본 논문에서는 홈 네트워크를 기반으로 한 지능형 홈 로봇의 구현에 대한 내용을 논의하였다. 기존의 로봇들은 대부분 독립적으로 동작하는 형태의 로봇이 주류를 이루었다. 현재 급속히 확산되고 있는 홈 네트워크는 가정 내 장치들이 정보를 주고받을 수 있는 통로의 역할을 할 수 있다. 이러한 로봇을 홈 네트워크 환경과 결합함으로 더욱 지능적이며, 다양한 기능을 구현 할 수 있다 홈 네트워크 환경에서는 로봇이 모든 일을 처리하던 방식에서 탈피하여, 네트워크를 이용한 작업의 분산이라는 이점을 얻을 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 계속적으로 추가되는 가정의 장치들이 네트워크에 연결됨으로 로봇은 이들 장치에 더욱 쉽게 접근할 수 있다. 향후에는 다양한 방식의 흠 네트워크를 기반으로 로봇이 행동하는 지능형 공간 (Smart Space)의 형태로 발전할 것으로 예상된다. 본 연구에서는 흠 서버, embedded robot,지능형 로봇으로 구성된 흠 네트워크 기반의 시스템을 제안하고 구현하였다.

  • 사용자의 각 개인별 관심 및 환경에 따라 적절한 정보를 다양한 입출력 방식으로 제공하고, 가정내의 모든 장소에서 네트워크 접속이 가능한 사용자 중심의 지능형 홈 네트워크 환경의 새로운 요구가 대두 되고 있다. 또한 집안의 온도, 가스, 화재, 도어, 적외선 센서들로부터 수집된 정보를 요약, 분석, 처리 가공하여 문자 및 그래픽 등으로 보고 받는 사용자 중심의 서비스 제공이 요구 된다. 이에 본 논문은 전력선 통신 (Power Line Communication, PLC)을 이용한 흠 네트워크 시스템을 구축하여 가정내의 온도, 화재, 침입방지 등의 보안 문제뿐만 아니라 정보가전기기들이 네트워크로 상호 연결되어 기기, 시간, 장소에 구애 받지 않는 다양한 서비스의 제공이 가능하며, 중앙의 홈 서버를 통해 집안 전체의 관리가 가능한 안전하고 스마트한 자동화 서비스를 제공하는 환경을 구축한다.

  • The recent trend in home network system includes intelligent home environments that remote monitoring and control service is achieved without restrictions by device types, time, and place. Also the use of a vacuum robot in homes is gradually generalized on account of the convenience of the use. In this paper, we proposed and realized new home-monitoring system with the employment of an self-movement robot as one trial for realizing an intelligent home under home network environment. The proposed system can freely monitor every where in home, because the system effectively overcame the surveillance limitations of the existing monitoring system by attaching a Wireless Router and WebCam to a commercial vacuum robot. The outdoor users of this system can readily monitor any place which they want to supervise by controlling a vacuum robot with mobile telecommunication devices such as PDA. The wireless router installed with Linux operation system "OpenWrt" made it possible for the system users to transmit images and to control a vacuum robot with RS-232 communication.

  • Recently, public home have used a more than two computer connected with network, and several home appliances using independently with internet or network are developing to be related closely with the network. Therefore, the home utilized for a simple terminal of the global network in the past is being expanded to another part of the sub network. For a variety of connecting home-area protocols with the existing existing network, we require a new Residential Gateway(RG) that does not only make the home-area network operating in the sub network but also connects to the external network. In this paper, RG has intrinsic limits against flexible service due to IP address assignment and hardware capacity. In order to solve this problem in the RG, we propose a Management Server(MS). The MS that offers the integrated managements and control services for a variety of devices connected the RG in the home-area. It can not only solve the dynamic IP address assigning problem but also assigns private IP addresses to the home network devices through the Network Address Translation(NAT). It also provides somewhat useful functions for the home network and the RG for other additional services. <중략> The MS is using a SNMP protocol for managing the RG in the domain, a polling method of the MS and the RG compose a sequence polling method, a polling method using a multi-process and a multi-thread. In this paper, we introduce a problem with polling method separately, show a polling method between the MS and the RG using a multi-thread.

  • In this paper, we implemented the integrated gateway for health care and home network system based on PLC(Power Line Communication) and Zigbee. The designed system is consists of sensors, integrated gateway, Zigbee module and PLC modem. The integrated gateway will transmit the data which is collected by health care sensors to health care control system and control an appliance for comfortable environment to medical facilities. The implemented gateway can support various health care and home network service.

  • Wireless sensor network-related application system can perform functions such as environmental pollution monitoring, building control, home automation in future. In this paper, we present wireless sensor network based system for subway station in order to reduce the damage of the people and the subway station due to fire. Sensor nodes in this system can sense temperature, illumination, smoke, and human body in real time and detect the accident in the subway station. These real-time sensing and wireless networking minimize casualties and damage to property.

  • Ubiquitous services are high duality and differentiated services which are provided for users by recognizing the context of users and environmental conditions actively. In this case, context-aware middleware is one of the most important technologies required to implement the ubiquitous services. In this paper, we propose a method for providing ubiquitous services in a specific user space effectively and monitoring human bio-signal sensors. That is, the design and implementation of intelligent home service middleware and monitoring human bio-signal sensor based on context awareness is discussed here. Context information from various sensors is gathered, and suitable services are inferred and provided to users by the middleware system. In our approach, user services can be modelled easily by using facts and rules, and the system can be extended easily to support various ubiquitous services other than intelligent home services also. The system can be integrated with external applications and legacy systems effectively by using various protocols such as RMI, socket and HTTP, XML and Zigbee etc. We have designed and evaluated various facts and rules for intelligent home services in real environments. Functionality evaluation with the system shows that ubiquitous services can be provided to users effectively in a home environment.
