Home Energy Management System for Interconnecting and Sensing of Electric Appliances

  • Due to the variety of household electric devices and different power consumption habits of consumers at present, general home energy management (HEM) systems suffer from the lack of dynamic identification of various household appliances and a unidirectional information display. This study presented a set of intelligent interconnection network systems for electric appliances, which can measure the power consumption of household appliances through a current sensing device based on OSGi platform. The system establishes the characteristics and categories of related electric appliances, and searches the corresponding cluster data and eliminates noise for recognition functionality and error detection mechanism of electric appliances by applying the clustering algorithm. The system also integrates household appliance control network services so as to control them according to users' power consumption plans or through mobile devices, thus realizing a bidirectional monitoring service. When the system detects an abnormal operating state, it can automatically shut off electric appliances to avoid accidents. In practical tests, the system reached a recognition rate of 95%, and could successfully control general household appliances through the ZigBee network.

A Design of Mobile Robot based on Camera and Sound Source Localization for Intelligent Surveillance System (지능형 감시 시스템 구축을 위한 영상과 음원 추적 기반 임베디드 모바일로봇 개발)

  • The necessity of intelligent surveillance system is gradually considered seriously from the space where the security is important. In this paper, we embodied unmanned intelligent system by developing embedded mobile robot based on images and sounds tracking. For objects tracking, we used block-matching algorithm and for sound source tracking, we calculated time differences and magnitude dissimilarities of sound. And we demonstrated the superiority of intruder tracking algorithm through the embodiment of Pan-Tilt camera and sound source tracking module using system, Network camera and mobile robot using system and mobile robot using system. By linking security system, the suggested system can provide some interfacing functions for the security service of the public facilities as well as that of home.

Soundsource Localization and Tracking System of Intruder for Intelligent Surveillance System (지능형 감시 시스템 구축을 위한 침입자의 음원 위치 파악 및 추적 시스템)

  • In the place that its security is crucial, the necessity of system which can tract and recognize random person is getting more important. In this paper, we'd like to develop the invader tracking system which consists of the sound source tracking-sensor and the pan-tilt camera for wide-area guard. After detecting the direction of any sound with the sound source tracking-sensor at first, our system make move the pan-tilt camera to that direction and extract reference image from that camera. This reference image is compared and updated by the next captured image after some interval time. By keeping on it over again, we can realize the guard system which can tract an invader using the difference image and the result of another image processing. By linking home network security system, the suggested system can provide some interfacing functions for the security service of the public facilities as well as that of home.

  • The Smart Home or intelligent home network control system has the need for home devices to cooperate for the purpose of providing the automated services to residents. The cooperation of home devices can be defined as the service for residents that it controls simultaneously two or more home devices with the same purpose about user's control request of specific home device. A object of home device cooperation are the function object of home device, it is well defined in each device model in AHAM(Association of Home Appliance Manufactures) nth(Connected Home Appliances). AMAM CHA is to promote new appliance services and features enabled through networking by describing generic appliance models, objects, and high-level messages, but does not consider the description and process of cooperation between objects of each device model. This paper defines the cooperation relationship that could be discovered in among home devices, and proposes the cooperation model that AHAM objects could process the cooperation relationship.

  • Users location management and handoff management is constructed more effective for giving satisfaction to QoS of multimedia service in Mobility network. For this, We have the HLR of IMT-2000, difference of the HLR of PCS, and connectivity Artificial Intelligent network and to provide data service of packet that is analyze to effect on the HLR. We have a study on effective for satisfaction of QoS, that is the VHE of full concepts for provide of service in the IMT-2000, packet data service for internet connectivity, for satisfaction of QoS on basis mobility network technologies of the 2nd generation.

  • This paper introduces a prototype smart home environment that is built in the research building to demonstrate the feasibility of a robot-assisted future home environment. Localization, navigation, object recognition and handling are core functionalities that an intelligent service robot should provide. A huge amount of research effort has been made to make the service robot perform these functions with its own sensors, actuators and a knowledge base. With all complicated configuration of sensors, actuators and a database, the robot could only perform the given tasks in a predefined environment or show the limited capabilities in a natural environment. We started a smart home environment for service robots for simple service robots to provide reliable services by communicating with the environment through the wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we introduce various types of smart devices that are developed for assisting the robot in the environment by providing sensor and actuator capabilities. In addition, we present how the devices are integrated to constitute the smart home environment for service robots.

  • It was already realized at a current technological level of home network systems that the systems recognizes a user's simple order and carry out the order in the ubiquitous computing environment. However home is not a simple environment consisting into a large number of family members, so various order and situation would be needed accordingly. From now on we need to reach the technological level to infer that how is the user's behavior patterns and what kinds of service is the fittest to user who belong to the ubiquitous computing environment by using the result of the context interpreter. In this regards, active inferred-model needs to be suggested upgrading user's command into one step more higher level than the simple one adapting diversified feature. This study would like to suggest this active model recognizing context, which is user's environmental information applying basic network and inferring Context-based Service that user wants through the recognized result This study proposes a new method that can infer the user's desire in ubiquitous computing environment. First of all, we define a context as user's information of ubiquitous computing environment situation that user belongs to and we classify the context into 4W1H(Where, Who, When, What) formats. We construct Bayesian network and put the factor of context use as Bayesian network nodes. As a result, we can infer the user's behavior pattern and most proper service for user in the intelligent space from the probabilistic result of Bayesian network.

Home Gateway Platform Development based on OSGi in Sensor Network (센서네트워크 상에서 OSGi 기반의 홈게이트웨이 플렛폼 개발)

  • 일반적으로 홈 게이트웨이는 가정 내 PC와 인터넷 가전 모두에 대해 공유 인터넷 액세스가 가능하도록 통신 서비스와 홈게이트웨이 자체의 보안 및 홈 오토메이션과 같은 서비스를 제공한다. 또한 추가로 미래에 제공되어야 할 여러 서비스를 위해서는 현재 개발되는 홈 게이트웨이는 모듈식 아키텍쳐를 기반으로 해야 할 것이다. 이와 같은 홈 게이트웨이를 구현하기 위해서는 독창적이고 확장 가능한 하드웨어 플랫폼은 물론, 운영체제 및 애플리케이션의 업그레이드와 새로운 서비스의 배치를 가능케 해주는 강건한 파일 시스템을 포함해야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 위와 같은 홈 게이트웨이 기능 및 새로운 서비스 추가 및 관리에 용이한 개방형 표준인 OSGi(Open Service Gateway Initiative)를 기반으로 한 홈게이트웨이를 설계하고, 본 플랫폼을 통한 댁내 가전제어를 위해 센서네트워크와 연동하여 실제 댁내에 부착된 액추에이터 센서노드를 제어할 수 있도록 개발했다. 가전제어를 위한 S/W는 OSGi 상에서 서비스 번들로 개발하였으며 언제 어디에서든 해당 번들을 다운받아 홈 제어가 가능하다.

  • 홈네트워크 시스템의 본격적인 보급과 함께 가정용서비스 로봇의 최근 연구 성과들은 인간과 지능로봇이 가정에 공존하며 서로 의사소통을 할 수 있는 시대가 가까운 미래에 현실화 될 수 있음을 보여주고 있다. 그러나 가정의 환경적인 특징은 open되어 있기 때문에 그러한 환경에 적응하고 주어진 임무를 수행하는 데는 단일 로봇 또는 단일 홈서버 보다는 로봇을 포함하는 홈네트워크 시스템 내의 여러 장치들이 어울려 분산처리를 수행하는 multi-agent 시스템이 일반적으로 더 좋다고 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 홈네트워크 시스템 환경에서 가정에서 필요한 agent들을 정의하기 위한 framework 모델을 구축하고 각 agent 간의 통신 protocol architecture를 제시한다. 또한 로봇 또는 홈서버의 단일 지능이나 기능보다는 그 안에 존재하는 복수개의 agent instance들의 집합으로 agent를 정의하고 각 agent 내외에서 agent들 사이의 협력(cooperation)과 (타협)negotiation을 통해 환경과 적응하는 방법 및 사람과 교감(interactive)하는 방법을 제시한다.

  • 유비쿼터스 시대가 다가오면서 앞으로 가정 및 회사 등 인간이 거주하며 생활하는 공간에서의 좀 더 편리하고 효율적인 다양한 정보를 인간에게 인지시켜 줄 수 있는 환경이 구축되어야한다. 이를 기반으로 유비쿼터스 주변장치들의 네트워크와 인간에게 많은 정보와 편리성이 좀 더 효율적으로 이루어져야 할 것이다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 센서모듈에서 추출되는 데이터를 신경망과 퍼지 알고리즘을 사용해 동작인식의 패턴을 분류하여 인간의 사고를 움직임 파악한다. 이러한 패턴의 분류를 통해 홈네트워크 시스템과의 센서모듈의 통신제어가 가능하게 된다 이를 바탕으로 패턴이 분류된 행동들의 명령으로 미리 지정된 간단한 손동작으로 여러 가전기기라든지 홈네트워크 시스템의 제어방식을 더욱 간단히 제어하며, 인간의 건강상태를 파악함으로써 인간행동과 상태에 따른 유비쿼터스 환경의 제어가 이루어 질 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다.
