  • The purpose of this exploratory study is to examine the intellectual structure of data science. For this purpose, this research examined a total of 17,997 bibliographies on data science indexed in Web of Science(WoS) of Clarivate Analytics from 2012 to 2021. This research applied methods such as descriptive analysis, citation analysis, co-author network analysis, co-occurrence network analysis, bibliographic coupling analysis, and co-citation analysis. This research contributes to finding the research directions of future data science topics.

  • This experimental study examines informetric analysis of World Wide Web based upon cocitation analysis of Web pages and features of Web resources in the field of communication studies. Cocitation analysis is basically performed to examine the intellectual structure of the communication studies in reflecting link count on the Web. The selected Web resources in the field are mapped in two dimensions based upon the similarities of cocitation frequency, correlation matrix, mutidimensional scale and cluster analysis. Cocitation analysis methods using organizational homepage, personal homepage, or Web index, to Web produced clustering of Web resources that had topical similarities. So far, although informetric analysis of Web resources is in the preliminary stage, it shows that Web can be a new tool for indicating the intellectual structure of a specific research field. In addition, this study analyzes characteristics of printing resources and Web resources, and differences of research methods in applying cocitation analysis.

  • Citation frequency is an important factor in evaluating journal quality and is used as a measure of journal impact. The citation index of a paper plays an important role in linking papers with groups of other academic papers, forming a huge and complex network. This study examines the intellectual structure of apparel research through the bibliometric citation analysis of The Research Journal of the Costume Culture (RJCC). In order to analyze the changes in the intellectual structure of the RJCC, we used the Korea Citation Index's (KCI) data (highly citing journals and highly cited journals). The NodeXL, a social network analysis tool, was used to examine the connection structure between journals. In order to identify the academic influence of the RJCC, we used the KCI journal citation index. Our findings indicate that the RJCC has a high centrality index among the clothing-oriented journals in the same life sciences field. A look at the journals citing the RJCC and the journals cited within the RJCC also showed that more journals of diverse fields have been recently linked through their citations. This suggests that a convergence of interdisciplinary research is underway in the field of clothing. As a result of examining international journals cited in the RJCC, it was confirmed that they were cited in prominent international journals in various fields.

  • Open access has emerged as an alternative to overcome the crisis brought by scholarly communication on commercial publishers. The purpose of this study is to suggest the intellectual structure that reflects the newest research trend in the field of open access, to identify how the subject area is structured by using co-word analysis, and compare and analyze with the existing study. In order to do this, the total number of dataset was 761 papers collected from Web of Science during the period from January 2012 to November 2018 using information science and 2,321 keywords as a noun phase are extracted from titles and abstracts. To analyze the intellectual structure of open access, 13 topic clusters are extracted by network analysis and the keywords with higher centrallity are drawn by visualizing the intellectual relationship. In addition, after clustering analysis, the relationship was analyzed by plotting the result on the multidimensional scaling map. As a result, it is expected that our research helps the research direction of open access for the future.

  • The research about customer value has developed over the past years in the marketing field. On the other hand, the stream of the idea has not fully been structured yet. It is the purpose of this research to present the process of development together with the intellectual structure in the field of customer value researches using "Author Co-citation Analysis" (ACA). For the purpose of the research, authors chosen were ranked in order of frequency according to their citations which were used for network analysis. Further, it was of advantage in finding the development process for this research from 1996 to 2011. The trend were set into three time-line groups/trends (1996~2000, 2001~2005, and 2006~2011) that were respectively analyzed. In conclusion, the research represents the intellectual structure of customer value in each period. The research having been tried, influenced a variable field in other marketing researches. While still, many researches limit their focus on a "one-way customer value, used by companies in the past and some in the present, many researches now have a wider perspective about the value and relationship of their customer and their company, together with the society at large.

  • This study analyzes key word networks of the papers which are published at Korean Journal of Social Welfare issued by Korean Academy of Social Welfare from 1979 to 2015. It aims at investigating the trends of social welfare researches in Korea by dividing the given period into two: 1979-2000 and 2001-2015. It shows the trends in three ways: methodologies, subjects, and intellectual structures. In order to identify intellectual structure, it calculate centrality indices basing on co-appearance frequency of key words. It also derives some values which explain relationship structure of key words by using pathfinder algorithm, and finally visualizes the intellectual structures by using the NodeXL program. Some implications of the findings of these analyses are discussed in the end.

  • The objective of this study is to find out the construct of intellectual capital in a fashion company. To this end, the mixed research methods that combined qualitative and quantitative approaches were conducted. Qualitative research was first conducted by in-depth interviews with 16 experts working in the fashion industry, and a questionnaire was then given to 121 fashion companies in order to fulfill the quantitative research portion of this study. The findings of this study are as follows: First, the conceptual structure of intellectual capital in a fashion company was revealed. A fashion company's intellectual capital is composed of 'human capital', 'structural capital', and 'relational capital'. Human capital has three components: a chief executive officer (CEO), members, and a human resource management capability. Structural capital has four components: organizational culture, information management capability, merchandising capability, and product innovation capability. Relational capital has three components: customer equity, marketing capability, and relationship management capability. Second, the conceptual structure of intellectual capital was confirmed via quantitative research analysis. All of the components of intellectual capital have internal consistency, convergent validity, construct validity, and discriminant validity.

  • This research presents author co-citation analysis of the subject area in the humanities - Korean history. Three approaches to multivariate analyses were used to display the inter-author relationships in the similarity matrix. Data on co-citation of sixty seven authors for the period of 19801989 were extracted from the database constructed by author. The author's name, here refers to a body of writings by a person, is the unit of analysis. The data were subjected to non-metric multidimensional scaling program create two-dimensional map of authors. Authors with similarity are clustered using hierarchical agglomerative procedure and it is found that five clusters in Korean history represent primarily research specializations. Author map of Korean history reveals the first dimension corresponding to subject orientation of authors and the second dimension corresponds to research method or research style. In factor analysis, each factor reflects research specialty made up of authors, and factor locadings demonstrate the breadth or concentration of sixty seven authors' scholarly contributions on Korean history. It is demonstrated that the· specific methodology employed by this research, author co-citation analysis, is useful to represent the intellectual structure of Korean history.
