In the monitoring of a patient in a sickroom, not only the physiologic and environmental data of the patient, which is automatically measured, but also the clinical data(clinical chart)of the patient, which is drew up by a doctor or nurse, are recognized as important data. However, since in the current environment of a sickroom, clinical data is collected being divided from the data that is automatically measured, the two data are used without an effective integration. This is because the integration of the two data is difficult due to their different collection times, which leads the reconstruction of clinical data to be remarkably uncertain. In order to solve these problems, a method to synchronize the continuous environmental data of a sickroom and clinical data is appearing as an important measure. In addition, the increase of use of small machines and the development of solutions based on wireless communications provide a communication platform to the developers of health care. Thus, this paper realizes a remote system for taking care of patients based on a web that uses mobile phones. That is, clinical data made by a nurse or doctor and the environmental data of a sick room comes to be collected by a collection module through a wireless sensor network. An observer can see clinical data and the environmental data of a sickroom through his/her mobile phone, integrating and storing his/her data into the database. Families of a patient can see clinical data made by hospital and the environment of the sick room of the patent through their computers or mobile phones outside the hospital. Through the system, hospital can provide better medical services to patients and their families.

As the concurrent engineering concept has emerged along with the support of optimization techniques, lots of endeavors have been made to apply optimization techniques to actual design problems for a holistic decision. Even if the range of design problems which the optimization is applicable to has been extended, most of ship designs still remain in an iterative approach due to the difficulties of seamless integration of all related design activities. In this approach, an entire design problem is divided into many sub-problems and carried out by many different disciplines through complicated internal interactions. This paper focuses on preliminary ship design process. This paper proposes a process centric integrated framework as the first step to establish a workflow based design process management system. The framework consists of two parts; a schedule management part to support a manager to monitor current progress status and adjust current schedule, and a process management part to assist a design to effectively perform a series of design activities by following a predefined procedure. Overall system are decomposed into modules according to the target to be managed in each module. Appropriate interactions between the decomposed modules are designed to achieve a consistency of the entire system. Design process model is also designed on a thorough analysis of actual ship design practice. The proposed framework will be embodied using a commercial workflow package.

The marine buoys are operated in various domains, which are navigation route and danger maker, weather and environment monitoring, military strategical element, etc. If the marine buoy is damaged, there consumes many cost and time for recovery or replacement, because of severe environmental condition, and causes a risk possibility of secondary accident. In this paper, we developed an active monitoring and approach alarm providing system using trail cameras and AIS for protection for the marine buoys. To do this, we analyzed existing researches and similar systems, extracted requirements for enhancement, and designed the system architecture that applied the enhanced elements. The main considerations of system enhancement are: integration of AIS and trail cameras, adopting of phased alarm technique by approaching ships, applying of selective communication module, conducting the image processing of ships for providing alarm, and applying thermal cameras. After that, we developed the system using designed architecture and verified effectiveness of the system based on laboratory or field-level tests.

In an embedded system, modules exchange data by interacting among themselves. Exchanging erroneous resource data among modules may lead to execution errors. The interacting resources produce dependencies between the two modules where any change of the resources by one module affects the functionality of another module. Several investigations of the embedded systems show that interaction faults between the modules are one of the major cause of critical software failure. Therefore, interaction testing is an essential phase for reducing the interaction faults and minimizing the risk. The direct and indirect interactions between the modules generate interaction faults. The direct interaction is the explicit call relation between the modules, and the indirect interaction is the remaining relation that is made underneath the interface that possesses data dependence relationship with resources. In this paper, we investigate the errors that are based on the indirect interaction between modules and introduce a new test criterion for identifying the errors that are undetectable by existing approaches at the integration level. We propose a novel approach for generating the interaction model using the indirect interaction pattern and design test criteria that are based on different interaction errors to generate test cases. Finally, we use the fault injection technique to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of our approach.

The flow of a universal system-level design methodology consists of system specification, system-level hardware/software partitioning, co-design, co-verification using virtual or physical prototype, and system integration. In the developing process of a hardware component in system, the design phase has been regarded as a phase consuming lots of time and cost. However, the verification phase in which functionality of the designed component is verified has recently been considered as a much important phase. In this paper, the implementation of a verification environment which is based on SystemC infrastructure and verifies the functionality of a hardware component is described. The proposed verification system uses SystemC user-defined channel as communication interface between variables of SystemC module and registers of Verilog module. The functional verification of an UART is performed on the proposed verification system. SystemC provides class library for hardware modeling and has an advantage of being able to design a system consisting hardware and software in higher abstraction level than register transfer level. Source codes of SystemC modules are reusable with a minor adaptation on verifying functionality of another hardware component.

This paper presents the development of compact and lightweight broadband power amplifier module using HMIC (Hybrid Microwave Integrated Circuit) technology that could be high-density integration for many non-packaged microwave components into the small area of a high dielectric constant printed circuit board, such as a ceramic substrate, also using the special design and fabrication schemes for the structure of minimized electromagnetic interference to obtain the homogeneous electrical performance at the wideband frequency. The results confirmed that the small signal gain has a gain flatness of ${\pm}1.5dB$ within the range of 32 to 36 dB. In addition, the output power satisfied more than 30 dBm. The noise figure was measured within 7 dB, and OIP3 (Output Third Order Intercept Point) was more than 39 dBm. The fabricated broadband power amplifier satisfied the target specification required to electrically drive the high power amplifiers of jamming generators for electronic warfare, so the actual applicability to the system was verified. Future studies will be aimed at designing other similar microwave power amplifiers in the future.

The ubiquitous and autonomic computing environments is open and dynamic providing the universal wireless access through seamless integration of software and system architectures. The ubiquitous computing have to offer the user-centric pervasive services according to the wireless access. Therefore the roaming services with the predefined security associations among all of the mobile devices in various networks is especially complex and difficult. Furthermore, there has been little study of security coordination for realistic autonomic system capable of authenticating users with different kinds of user interfaces, efficient context modeling with user profiles on Smart Cards, and providing pervasive access service by setting roaming agreements with a variety of wireless network operators. This paper proposes a Roaming Coordinator-based security management framework that supports the capability of interoperator roaming with the pervasive security services among the push service based network domains. Compared to traditional mobile systems in which a Universal Subscriber Identity Module(USIM) is dedicated to one service domain only, our proposed system with Roaming Coordinator is more open, secure, and easy to update for security services throughout the different network domains such as public wireless local area networks(PWLANs), 3G cellular networks and wireless metropolitan area networks(WMANs).

Systematic risk management is necessary in grand scaled urban construction because of the existence of complicated and various risk factors. Problems of obstructions, adjacent structures, safety, environment, traffic and geotechnical properties need to be solved because urban construction is progressed in limited space not as general earthwork. Therefore the establishment of special risk management system is necessary to manage not only geotechnical properties but also social and cultural uncertainties. This research presents the technique analysis by the current state of risk management technique. Risk factors were noticed and the importance of each factor was estimated through survey. The systemically categorized database was established. Risk extraction module, matrix and score module were developed based on the database. Expected construction budget and time distribution can be computed by Monte Carlo analysis of probabilities and influences. Construction budgets and time distributions of before and after response can be compared and analyzed 80 the risks are manageable for entire whole construction time. This system will be the foundation of standardization and integration. Procurement, efficiency improvement, effective time and resource management are available through integrated management technique development and application. Conclusively decrease in cost and time is expected by systemization of project management.
The input of digital TV software is the Transport Stream, which utilizes the moving picture compression technique, MPEC-2 (Moving Picture Experts Groups-2). MPEG-2 TS consists of the complicated table hierarchy and internal relationships, as well as the various restrictions with regards to system standard of digital TV software in determining the field values of transport stream. However, the general MPEG-2 TS generation tool produces transport streams solely based on the MPEG-2 TS specification itself, and does not consider the interaction between modulo features or modules themselves, which construct digital TV software. In this paper, we propose a method to systematically generate MPEG-2 TS test data, namely‘Test Stream’, for digital TV software. We present the experiment result where the test stream derived from our developed tool according to the proposed method was applied to the actual digital TV software settop-box, and then analyze the result. Apart from other existing MPEG-2 TS generation tools, the advantage of our method is that not only is it capable of generating various levels of test streams including digital TV software module, integration, and system testing, but also detecting errors and analyzing their causes.
