  • Recently, BIM(Building Information Model) is widely applied to all stages of SOC (Social Overhead Capital)facilities life cycle from planning to maintenance. While BIM is an analysis tool focussing the inner space of facilities, GIS is principally applied to analyzing relationship between facilities. Therefore, integrating BIM and GIS, we expect to get a potential synergy effect in aspects of effective information management and various analysis for SOC facilities. This paper deals with prioritizing SOC facilities for applying BIM/GIS integrating platform to local governments. First, investigate facilities required by law, and identify SOC facilities suitable for SOC characteristics. Second, analyze the effectiveness and applicability of BIM/GIS integrating platform applying each facility. For the purpose, we quantify effectiveness and applicability in aspects of UIS management and GIS functions. Lastly, prioritize the SOC facilities applying BIM/GIS integrating platform.

  • Developers often use cross-platform frameworks to create mobile apps that can run on multiple platforms with minimal code changes. However, these frameworks may not suit all the needs of a specific app, so developers may also use native APIs to add platform-specific features. This method eventually dilutes the advantages of cross-platform development methodology that aims to reduce development costs and time, and often leads to a decision to return back to the original native mobile development methodology. In this study, we explore a different approach: combining different cross-platform tools to develop a storybook mobile app that meets various requirements. We have demonstrated that integrating two cross-platform solutions can be used reliably to develop complex mobile applications. However, we also report that this approach can introduce unforeseen issues such as sandbox redundancy, unexpected functional burdens, and redundant permission requests. Despite these challenges, we believe that combining two cross-platform solutions can be applied to a variety of functional and performance requirements, enabling the development of more sophisticated mobile applications at lower costs and with shorter development timelines than traditional mobile app development methodologies.

  • Mining the microarray data accumulated in the public data repositories can save experimental cost and time and provide valuable biomedical information. Big data analysis pooling multiple data sets increases statistical power, improves the reliability of the results, and reduces the specific bias of the individual study. However, integrating several data sets from different studies is needed to deal with many problems. In this study, I limited the focus to the cross platform classification that the platform of a testing sample is different from the platform of a training set, and suggested a simple classification method based on rank. This method is compared with the diagonal linear discriminant analysis, k nearest neighbor method and support vector machine using the cross platform real example data sets of two cancers.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the effect that insecurity and autonomy of platform work have an influence on work-life balance and psychological well-being in an era of platform economy based on two characteristics of online platform work and self-determination theory. Design/methodology/approach This study suggested the structural equation model integrating two antecedents, insecurity and autonomy, work-life balance, and psychological well-being and proposed five hypotheses driven from the research model. A total of 334 valid samples were collected from platform workers by employing questionnaire including 24 question items of four constructs. Findings Three hypotheses were supported and one hypothesis was not supported at the significance level of 0.05. Insecurity of platform work has a negative influence on work-life balance at the significance level of 0.01, whereas insecurity of platform work has no a significant influence on psychological well-being. Autonomy of platform work has a positive influence on both work-life balance and psychological well-being at the significance level of 0.01. Work-life balance has a positive impact on psychological well-being at the significance level of 0.001. Insecurity have an influence on psychological well-being indirectly through mediation of work-life balance. Implications for academicians and practitioners were suggested.

  • A CAD-based seamless design system for MEMS named DS/MEMS was developed which performs coupled-field analysis, optimal and robust design. DS/MEMS has been developed by means of integrating commercial codes and inhouse code-SolidWorks, FEMAP, ANSYS and CA/MEMS. This strategy results in versatility that means to include various analysis model, corresponding analyses and approximated design sensitivity analysis and user friendliness that design variables are taken to be selectable directly from a CAD model, that the problem is formulated under a window environment and that the manual job during optimization process is almost eliminated. DS/MEMS works on a parametric CAD platform, integrating CAD modeling, analysis, and optimization. Nonlinear programming algorithms, the Taguchi method, and response surface method are made available for optimization. One application problem is taken to illustrate the proposed methodology and show the feasibility of DS/MEMS as a practical tool.

  • In a centralized database system, all system components reside at a single platform. In recent years there has been a rapid trend toward the integration of information systems over multiple sites that are interconnected via a communication network, and users' needs are changed to integration of multiple information sites. Multi database System is one of solutions for integrating distributed heterogeneous databases. However the problems in multi database system are restriction in distributed environment support, limitation in integrating heterogeneous media type data, static integration, and data-only of integration. In order to solve these problems, we propose a hybrid database integration model, HyDIM. HyDIM is used for the integrating legacy multimedia data, adopting CORBA, MDS, and mediator. We demonstrate a prototype system far PDM application domain.

  • Our research proposese an IoT Broker (gateway) platform which considers the both sides of a service developer and a user. The platform associates the devices around us with virtual-entities and infers the owner of the devices through the ontology scheme. These functionalities can make the service developer easily design a new service. For the user, the service can be automatically installed and deployed under this platform. We also make it possible for the IoT broker to be plugged-in by integrating various communication platforms and protocols into that platform. Our expreriment with the AllJoyn plug-in on Node-RED substantiated that various service flows can be easily deployed and work on our platform.

  • Voice revenues are critical to service providers today as they still make up 60% of revenues. Voice is certainly dominant, but the growth is flat. Wireless & data traffic are increasing, resulting in the need for integrating different networks into a unified platform for network efficiency, cost savings and additional revenue opportunities.
