언제 어디서든 끊어짐이 없이 콘텐츠를 이용할 수 있는 클라우드 컴퓨팅(Cloud Computing)기술로 인해 본격적인 N스크린 시대가 열렸다. 이에 따라 방송업계에서는 방송 콘텐츠를 PC, 스마트폰, 태블릿, App, IPTV 등 다양한 미디어 기기로 서비스할 수 있는 환경이 마련됐다. 방송사 관점에서는 플랫폼의 유용성과 사용성을 높여주기 위해 디바이스별로 동일한 브랜드 아이덴티티가 유지될 필요가 있고, 이를 뉴미디어 구축에 적용할 수 있는 통합 스타일가이드의 필요성이 커졌다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 웹페이지에 국한되었던 웹 스타일 가이드를 넘어서, 이제 다양한 뉴미디어에서 브랜드 아이덴티티를 유지하기 위한 뉴미디어 스타일가이드의 필요성과 제작요소에 대해 연구한다. 세계 최고 수준의 공영 방송사이며 통합적인 미디어가이드가 제시되어 있는 BBC의 통합가이드(GEL)와 우리나라 대표 공영방송 KBS에서 제공되는 웹 스타일 가이드를 분석하고, 현재 웹 스타일 가이드의 한계점을 찾아 개선방향을 도출하고자 했다. 이를 위해 방송미디어업계 디자인분야의 전문가 심층인터뷰를 통해, 어떤 디자인 요소들을 중심으로 뉴미디어 스타일 가이드를 제작해야 하는가를 분석하고, 종합적인 뉴미디어 스타일 가이드 제작 블루프린트를 제안했다. 이 연구를 통해 우리나라 뉴미디어 방송채널 KBS의 통합적인 브랜드 아이덴티티의 현주소를 파악하고, 미래지향적인 뉴미디어 플랫폼 발전방향을 모색한다.

In this paper, to prevent accidents of school vehicles used by students, which have emerged as a continuous social problem, a boarding and leaving notification system using Bluetooth beacons is proposed. The platform structure uses Bluetooth, a smartphone, and an application, and provides real-time message reception between parents and teachers. It is not simply a system with Bluetooth capability alone, but also an IcT technology that is closely related to real life using two-way communication. The purpose is to provide user-friendly ICT technology as an integrated system for more practical effects. Two-way exchange of information between parents and teachers using cloud servers is made possible. By using this Bluetooth beacon notification system, safety accidents in student vehicles are reduced, which brings confidence from traffic accidents to schoolchildren of parents and teachers. Therefore, it is expected that parents and teachers are expected to improve their mental stability and quality of life from traffic accidents.

멀티미디어 데이타는 일반적으로 다른 데이타에 비해 크기가 크고 가공된 데이타의 형태로 의미를 지닌다. 또한 데이타 처리에 있어서도 더 복잡한 과정을 거치게 된다. 따라서 멀티미디어 데이타를 표준화된 방법으로 가공하여 데이타 베이스화 한다면 데이타 활용에 있어서 유사한 작업의 반복없이 서로 다른 사용자간에 데이타를 공유하게 되고 기존 데이타를 재활용할 수 있게 되므로 데이타 처리에 있어서 효율성을 높일 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 OLE 표준에 기초하여 일반 사용자가 손쉽게 멀티미디어 데이타를 다를 수 있는 통합 환경을 제안한다. 이를 위하여 OLE 객체 데이타를 하나의 복합 전자 문서로 구성할 수 있는 저작 환경 및 일반 사용자가 멀티미디어 데이타베이스에 접근해서 손쉽게 객체를 검색하고 추출할 수 있는 사각 질의 인터페이스를 설계/구현한다. 또한 다른 사용자 자간의 OEL 객체의 공유 및 기존 재활용도를 증가시키기 위한 데이타베이스 구축에 필요한 객체 분리 방법 및 통합 환경에서의 체계적 객체 관리 방법을 제시한다.

GEM(Globally Executable MHP) 기반의 MHP(Multimedia Home Platform), OCAP(OpenCable Application Platform), ACAP(Advanced Common Application Platform) 등은 현재 디지털 방송의 대표적인 미들웨어이다. 이러한 미들웨어에 사용된 MPEG-2와 DSM-CC(Digital Storage Media-Command and Control) 프로토콜 표준은 많은 부분이 유사하다는 특징을 가지고 있지만 각 DTV 미들웨어가 필요로 하는 정보와 데이터 구조가 조금씩 차이가 있다. 이는 결과적으로 미들웨어간의 비호환성을 야기한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 미들웨어 표준을 모두 지원할 수 있는 통합 DTV 미들웨어를 개발하기 위한 노력의 일환으로써, 재구성이 가능한 범용 DSM-CC 아키텍처를 제안한다. 첫째, 모든 GEM 기반의 미들웨어가 공통적으로 필요로 하는 DSM-CC 컴포넌트를 정의하였다. 둘째, 각 미들웨어가 필요로 하는 정보와 데이터 구조를 XML 형태로 정의하여 별도의 수정 없이 정적, 혹은 동적으로 특정 미들웨어에 맞추어 적용할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한, 셋탑박스의 전체적인 성능과 연관성이 높은 어플리케이션 응답시간과 DSM-CC 모듈의 사용빈도를 향상시키기 위해 사용자의 선호도를 고려한 캐시 관리 전략을 제안하고, 제안된 캐시 관리 전략이 응답시간을 줄이는데 효과적임을 실험을 통해서 확인하였다.

최근 인터넷 기반의 분산 멀티미디어 환경에서 가장 성장하는 기술로는 스트림 서비스 기술과 분산 객체 기술을 꼽을 수 있다. 특히, 분산 객체 기술에 스트림 서비스 기술을 통합하려는 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 이 기술들은 다양한 스트림 서비스 관리 모델과 프로토콜의 연구에서 적용되고 있다. 그러나, 기존에 제시된 관리 모델들은 스트림 전송의 서비스 질(QoS)에 대한 지원이 미흡하다. 또한, 서비스 질에 관련된 기능들이 특정 응용 서비스의 부속 모듈로 개발됨에 따라, 확장이나 재사용을 지원할 수 없는 문제점을 나타내고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 분산 객체 기술을 적용하여 확장 및 재사용이 용이하고 스티림의 서비스의 질을 보장하는 QoS 통합 플랫폼을 제안했다. 제안된 플랫폼의 구조는 사용자 제어 모듈, QoS 관리 모듈 및 스트림 객체의 세가지 컴포넌트로 구성된다. 스트림 객체는 TCP/IP 상에서 RTP 패킷을 송·수신 기능을 한다. 사용자 제어 모듈은 CORBA 객체를 이용하여 스트림 객체들을 제어한다. QoS 관리 모듈은 사용자 제어 모듈간에 서비스 질을 유지하는 관리 기능을 한다. QoS xd합 플랫폼의 구축을 위해 관련 모듈들을 독립적으로 구현하고, 이들이 CORBA 환경에서 플랫폼 독립성, 상호운용성, 이식성을 갖도록 그들간에 인터페이스들을 IDL로 정의하였다. 제안된 플랫폼의 구현을 위해 Solaris 2.5/2.7에 호환되는 OrbixWeb 3.1c, 자바언어와 Java Media Framework API 2.0, Mini-SQL1.0.16 및 관련 이미지 캡쳐보드 및 영상카메라를 사용하였다. 본 플랫폼의 기능검증을 위한 결과로서, 플랫폼 상에서 스트림 서비스가 진행되는 동안, 클라이언트와 서버의 GUI를 통해 위에서 기술한 모듈들의 수행결과와 QoS 제어 과정으로부터 얻어지는 수치적 데이터를 보였다.

We see an energy fucused smart city evolution of the UK along with the project of "Smart London Plan (SLP)." A theoretical logic of business model innovation has been discussed and a research framework of evolving energy focused smart city is formulated. The starting point is the silo system. In the second stage, the private investment in smart meters establishes a basement for next stages. As results, the UK's smart energy sector has evolved from smart meter installation through smart grid to new business models such as water-energy nexus and microgrid. Before smart meter installation of the government, the electricity system was centralized. However, after consumer engagement plan has been set to make them understand benefits that they can secure through smart meters, the customer behavior has been changed. The data analytics firm enables greater understanding of consumer behavior and it helps energy industry to be smart via controlling, securing and using that data to improve the energy system. In the third stage, distribution network operators (DNOs)' access to smart meter data has been allowed and the segmentation starts. In the fourth stage, with collaboration of Ofwat and Ofgem, it is possible to eliminate unnecessary duplication of works and reduce interest conflict between water and electricity. In the fifth stage, smart meter and grid has been integrated as an "adaptive" system and a transition from DNO to DSO is accomplished for the integrated operation. Microgrid is a prototype for an "adaptive" smart grid. Previous steps enable London to accomplish a platform leadership to support the increasing electrification of the heating and transport sector and smart home.

SoC 환경에서 효과적인 동영상 압축을 지원하기 위한 고집적 움직임 추정기를 제안한다. MPEG-4나 H.263과 같은 이동통신 향동영상압축 표준을 사용할 때, 움직임 보상, 모드 결정, 움직임 벡터 예측 및 차분 벡터 계산 등과 같은 기능은 MCU의 잦은 처리를 필요로 한다. 그러나. 제안한 움직임 추정기는 이러한 기능을 집적함으로써, 동영상 압축을 위한 MCU의 간섭을 최소로 하는 SoC 개발을 가능하게 한다. 또한 제안한 움직임 추정기는 움직임이 없는 배경에 대해서는 움직임 추정을 생략하거나 모드 결정을 통해서 INTRA 모드일 경우 반화소 단위 움직임 추정을 회피하는 기능을 구현함으로써 저전력 소모를 실현한다.

In this paper, we have designed the integrated wire and wireless P2P framework using mobile agents to share efficiently resources as media file. Most of the P2P applications are used on the wire network. We propose the integrated wire and wireless P2P framework. Proposed P2P platform is based on JXTA of Sun Microsystems. But JXTA is pure peer-to-peer network model, so it sends message other peers as broadcast style to request resources. In this way, there are some problems as massage overload, bandwidth loss, etc. In order to solve this problem, we propose a hybrid peer-to-peer network model using mobile agent. Proposed scheme also solve existing hybrid pEp model's flaws which have the delay and low rate due to concentrated server. In proposed scheme, mobile agents that have autonomy and mobility are used to search the location of resources. Besides, mobile agents could solve the loss problem of the search result. To improve P2P QoS(Quality of Service), we could monitor peer's state information using PIP(Peer Information Protocol) of JXTA.

1인 미디어 방송 서비스는 기존의 방송 서비스와 다르게 고가의 장비 없이 제작자의 영상과 음성을 획득하는 디바이스와 전송 플랫폼만 있으면 제작자가 원하는 독창적 주제로 자신만의 방송을 제작할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 개인 방송 서비스 프레임워크를 세미나 또는 학회와 같은 컨퍼런스에 적용함으로써 새로운 중계방송 시스템을 개발 및 구현하였다. 각 컨퍼런스 행사장마다 영상과 음성 획득 장치를 설치하고, 스트리밍 서버를 통해 이들을 통합하여 중계방송 함으로써 개인의 모바일 디바이스 또는 노트북, 태블릿 PC와 같은 멀티 해상도 스크린을 통해 시청이 가능하도록 하였다. 사용자는 원하는 스크린을 통해 실시간 스트리밍 및 VOD 서비스뿐만 아니라 컨퍼런스 관련 추가적인 정보를 제공받을 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 즉, 컨퍼런스 참석자들에게 개인 모바일 디바이스를 통해 정보를 얻을 수 있도록 함으로써 편의성을 제공하고 컨퍼런스 참여도 향상의 효과와 향후 연구를 위한 기반 기술이 될 것으로 기대한다.

In this study we develop core technology of Multi-Charmel Voice Guidance System based on active 2.45GHz RFID that can be used in the field of advertising. Through this, we can service more familiar with voice information to foreigners by own language in large scale international event. As an alternative to the current high-expensive voice guidance system in exhibition hall and provide more value added services to user. As the result, we present the configuration of integrated software platform which include media server, media client and receiver. It can be as a basis infra equipment for a signtseeing in RFID/USN environment. Additionally through tag information analysis about exposure of advertisement that is collected late, supposed system may achieve role as a new marketing tool.
