  • Efficiency estimation of toxicity free resistance cable experiments were conducts to understand toxicity free fire ersistance polyolefin insulation material and smoke density characteristic and combustion gas corrosion analysis. A main cause of fire-growth and generating toxic gas when it burns, should be dealt with great care in life safety design. Similar patterned fire incidents such as, Inchon Live-Hof Pub Restaurant as, Sea-land Children Resort have proven that serious loss of lives were caused by hazardous gas generated fire resistance cable materials. In this paper, Referenced documents were ASTM E662 standard test method for specific Ds genalated by solid materials. The furnace control system shall maintain the required irradiance level under steady-state condition with the chamber door closed of 2.5$\pm40.04〔w/$\textrm{cm}^2$〕for 20 min. According to the results of the smoke density analysis of NFR-8 and FR-PVC the highest decomposition flaming smoke density range of NFR-8 and FR-PVC were 25.2 to 37.5 and 51.1 respectively. Nonflaming smoke density range of NFR-8 and FR-PVC were 100.4 to 112.2 and 126.5 to 398.8. Also, the fire gases was occurred carbon monoxide and decomposition than in polyolefin due to incomplete combustion of PVC which has high content of carbon in chemical compound.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the structure and heat generation mechanism of low voltage switches used to turn on or off the power supply to an indoor lighting system and investigate how the fixtures and movable contacts of the switches are damaged depending on the types of energy sources in order to secure the judgment base for expected PL disputes. Based on the Korean Standard (KS) testing method for incombustibility, this study applied a general flame to the switch. In addition, current was supplied to the switch using the PCITS (Primary Current Injection Test System). The ambient temperature and humidity were maintained at $22{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ and 40~60% respectively while performing the test. It is thought that the switch generated heat due to a defective connection of the wire and clip, insulation deterioration and defective contact of the movable contact, etc. The surface of the switch damaged by the general flame was uniformly carbonized. When the flame source was removed, the fire on the switch was extinguished naturally. From the result obtained by disassembling the switch carbonized by the general flame, it could be seen that fixtures and movable contacts remained in comparatively good shape but the enclosure, clip support, movable contact, indicating lamp, etc. showed carbonization and discoloration. In the case of the switch damaged by overcurrent, the clip connecting the wires, clip support, etc. showed almost no trace of damage, but the fixtures, movable contact, indicating lamp, etc. were severely carbonized. That is, the sections with high contact resistance were intensively damaged and showed a damage pattern indicating that carbonization progressed from the inside to the outside. Therefore, it is possible to judge the initial energy source by analyzing the characteristics of the carbonization pattern and the metal fixtures of damaged switches.

  • The establishment of a green remodeling strategy is focused on technology, so the necessity of establishing a customized strategy considering the field situation has emerged. This paper examined the technology strategy through sensitivity analysis as a methodology for guiding strategy. For a 90-square-meter detached house, nine models of the construction standards of pre-1980s, 1984, and 2010 in Seoul, Daejeon, and Busan were assessed using the optimization method that combines the energy plus engine and the ModeFrontier. Sensitivity analysis was performed, and the remodeling strategy priority was derived. For pre-1980 models, the strategy for enhancing the roof insulation performance had a significant priority. The SHGC values of the windows were found to have the next highest priority regardless of the region and the time of completion, showing that the performance standard, including the SHGC, needs to be expanded. The possibility of remodeling while maintaining the existing geometry was confirmed because the adjustment of the window wall ratio accompanying large-scale demolition works has low priority. The priorities of technology strategies in each case showed very different patterns, suggesting the possibility of establishing a remodeling strategy by a comprehensive evaluation along with economics and constructability analysis.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the thermoregulatory responses to postures under different environmental conditions and to obtain the basal information for standard clothing weight, indoor climates, and working condition. Two adult female (22.5yrs, 46kg) were participated in this study. The experimental conditions were divided into three groups ; 1) comfort($27{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, $60{\pm}10%$), 2) hot($34{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, $60{\pm}10%$), and 3) cold($21{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, $50{\pm}10%$) condition. The postures performed were as follows; standing, sitting on the chair, sitting on the floor, and supine on the floor. At each condition, subjective sensations, 12 points skin temperature, rectal temperature, total and local sweat rate, pulse rates, blood pressure, skin blood flow rate were measured. The results were as follows : 1. Rectal temperature was high significant among groups in order of supine, sitting on the floor, sitting on the chair, standing posture(p<0.01). 2. Skin temperature was high in part of contact with the surface of the floor or wall and the effect of posture was greater in peripheral temperature than torso temperature. Sitting on the chair and sitting on the floor posture showed higher peripheral temperature than standing and supine posture. And peripheral temperature was lower in supine posture than any other postures. 3. Total and local sweat rate were decreased in order of standing, sitting on the chair, sitting on the floor, supine posture. 4. Pulse rate and disastolic blood pressure were higher in standing posture than supine posture, and there was significant difference between two postures(p<0.001). 5. Blood flow rate of thigh was high in sitting on the chair and sitting on the floor posture and low in standing posture. Blood flow rate of leg was low in standing posture significantly(p<0.01). 6. In comfort and hot condition, temperature sensation and comfort sensation were higher in standing posture and lower in supine posture than any other postures. In cold condition, temperature sensation was lower and comfort sensation was higher in standing and supine posture than any other postures. And supine posture was appeared positive in hot condition and negative in cold condition. From this study, we confirmed the effects of posture on human thermoregulatory responses. Results indicate that even under same conditions and clothing weight, the insulation of clothing will be different to postures.

  • While perfluoroalkane (PFA), a liquid state nucleating agent for a rigid polyurethane foam (RPUF) to enhance the thermal insulation property, has the excellent nucleating characteristics, it is very expensive as well as environmentally harmful due to the fluoride compound. Many researches, therefore, have been performed to develop the alternative nucleating agents to replace PFA. In the present work, a multi-wall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) was used as a sloid state nucleating agent, and thereby the effects on the property changes of the RPUF were carried out. Average cell size decreased from 165.6 for base RPUF to $162.9{\mu}m$ and cell uniformity was also enhanced, showing the standard cell-size deviation of 45.6 and 35.2, respectively. While k-factor of base PUF was $0.01763kcal/m.hr.^{\circ}C$, that of the sample with 0.01 phr MWCNT showed 1.02% reduced value of $0.01745kcal/m.hr.^{\circ}C$. Though the compressive yield stress is nearly the same as $0.030{\times}105Pa$ for the both samples, initial modulus of the sample with 0.01 phr MWCNT was higher than that of base sample. it was considered as the results that small amount of MWCNT could play a sufficient role as the effective nucleating agent for RPUF, showing that an echo-friendly RPUF with reduced-cost could be fabricated, which has an enhanced thermal and mechanical properties.

  • The dielectric and sintering characteristics of composites made by substituting Ca ion to Ba-site and Zr ion to Ti site in $(Ba{1-x}Ca_x)(Ti{0.96-yZr_ySn_{0.04})O_3$ $(0.15{\leq}x{\leq}0.20,\;0.09{\leq}y{\leq}0.14)$ were investigated. As the content of Ca was more than 15 mol%, composite was formed by precipitating the second phase whose main element was $CaTiO_3$ and the fraction of the second phase was increased. The curie temperature of composites was depended on Ca concentration, $-1.7^{\circ}C$ per mol% and the maximum dielectric constant of composite was decreased by the rate of 200/mol%. The substitution of Zr ion decreased the curie temperature by the rate of $10^{\circ}C$ per mol% and the maximum dielectric constant was decreased by 217/mol% due to the increase of diffuse phase transition. The density and insulation breakdown characteristics were improved by suppressing the abnormal grain growth due to the increase of second phase. We developed the composition of Y5U (EIA standard) condenser which had high breakdown voltage and dielectric constant by controlling diffuse phase transition by the addition of Zr ion into composite.

  • Lightweight foamed concretes are mainly used in apartment building construction for building room floor insulation, sound proof and height difference adjustment, etc. However, existing lightweight foamed concretes have problems like volume reduction by foam removal and excessive crack occurrence, etc, and for compensation, they developed improved concrete binders for lightweight foamed concrete with special characteristics by adding admixture materials used in concrete manufacturing. Therefore, this study reviewed the possibility of its practical use by analyzing all the engineering characteristics after producing imitation member proposed as actual binders and piling lightweight foamed concrete as improved lightweight foamed concrete binder through prior study, the results are as follows. Plain in which various pulverulent materials are mixed showed about 230mm of flow value, satisfying the target flow value, and at 100mm member, about 4mm of settlement occurred, showing a settlement depth reduction effect double the OPC. On strength, OPC showed highest value, but the three levels all showed strengths above the specified value of KS standard 0.5 grade. From the analysis of drying shrinkage member crack, plain, about 0.1mm, was shown very excellent against drying shrinkage crack.

  • The energy loss can be divided into the loss caused by heat transfer and the loss caused by air flow. Heat transfer is the loss resulting from the heat transmittance of external wall, roof, and floor, and represents one of the most vulnerable elements of existing buildings. To prevent such loss, it is necessary to increase the mean heat transmittance of entire external wall, including the window, to a level above the standard regional value and ensure the air-tightness of window. The old buildings have the structure which is prone to the loss of greater air flow due to the air infiltration through the exit/entrance door upward along the stairway by the stack effect and simultaneous suction of air from each floor, and becomes even vulnerable to the loss of heat insulation for each floor, although the external wall and windows are the most vulnerable parts. The improvement plans for each floor need to be submitted in tandem with the diagnosis of whole building, regarding the diagnosis plan and energy improvement measures based on the survey of site, rather than adhering to the misconception that the replacement of window alone will result in energy-savings.

  • Flight data recorder is a equipment that records data required for investigation of aircraft accidents and should be developed in compliance with the ED-112A standard. Unlike general data storage device, flight data recorder must be able to recover data after an aircraft accident, requiring a housing and a memory board to protect data in extreme environments. To attain this performance, we designed a housing that can withstand the test by analyzing the physical environment of the impact, shear/tensile, penetration resistance and static crush test of the crash survival test and minimized the size and weight compared to the existing one in consideration of the installation of the aircraft in this paper. Insulation material and thermal block material were applied to endure high and low temperature fire so that the internal temperature does not rise above 150℃ even in 260℃, 10 hour environment. In addition, the memory board is designed to minimize the size and we devise a hoping programming method to prevent continuous data loss of more than 16 seconds. Through this, Crash protected memory module that satisfies ED-112A was completed.
