  • There hasn't been a study searching for various methods of instruction and orientation in the use of a college library. By searching through the western literature in this field from 1961, I was amazed by the vast literature and enormous study done on it. I tried to introduce the most important articles in this field which can help mold our methods of library instruction. There has been quite a few cries for the use of new methods, of newer media, for increased number of students. Promising future lies in the area of programmed instruction and audiovisual aids to teaching, which should be developed into course-related library instruction.

  • Inquiry instruction is a dynamic process that uses questioning and answering to have students actively participate in their own learning. Inquiry instruction is a teaching technique in which teachers do not provide knowledge, but help students discover knowledge by themselves. However, Inquiry instruction currently has problems of lack of connection between inquiry process and school library, lack of collaboration between the media specialist and teacher, and lack of applicable models. Information literacy is the ability to access, evaluate and use information. Information literacy process is closely related to the inquiry process. Thus, this study suggested an elaborative model in inquiry instruction using information literacy process. This research derived the skills, strategies, activities of inquiry instruction model by comparing and analyzing Lippitt's inquiry process with information literacy process(Big6 Skills, Pathways to Knowledge, I-Search, 8Ws, Inquiry Process, Inquiry in the Research Process). Based on the results, this study designed an elaborative model in inquiry instruction using information literacy process.

The Effects of the Robot Based Instruction for Promotion of Students' Interaction (로봇활용수업이 학생의 상호작용 촉진에 미치는 효과)

  • This article explores the effects of the RBI(Robot Based Instruction) for promotion of students' interaction in elementary school. It was found that Cognitive Affective Metacognitive interaction is evenly spread in RBI. It was particularly high the ratio of metacognitive interaction. According to the analysis result of learner's activity by the detailing, it was observed that robot media promoted students' interaction. Also, metacognitive interaction about clarification and elaboration was promoted lively in the RBI situation. Therefore, RBI was helpful to promote of students' interaction in elementary school.

  • Graded reading is to match reading competency of readers with difficulty levels of text, based on the study of readability. This article discusses how to apply new media to develop Chinese graded reading materials which are more interesting, scientific and practical than traditional paper materials. The graded materials on the new media platform can be used for Chinese second language learners to self-study, and also for instructors to support reading and writing instruction in class or after class.

An Analysis of Media of Social Studies 1 Textbooks for the Middle School with the Information Processing Model (정보처리모형을 이용한 중학교 『사회 1』 교과서 수록 매체 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the media of middle school social studies 1 textbooks with the information processing model and to suggest educational information services of teacher librarians under a collaborative Instruction. For this purpose, 1,089 inquiry tasks embedded in 8 types of textbooks for middle school social studies developed under the 2015 revised curriculum were analyzed. The media as an input element was analyzed by the type and the characteristic as a processing element was analyzed by the cognitive behavior types. And the aspect of the output factor of the media utilized the multiple intelligences. As a result of the analysis, the media in the inquiry task solving process mainly consisted of visual media based on photographs and illustrations and general reading materials. The processing method of media is understanding through analysis and inference through structuring. And the output utilized speaking and writing of the language intelligence. Based on the results, it is shown that educational information services that teacher librarians could provide for inquiry activities are composed of developing curriculum map, teaching inquiry processing and skills, and designing work sheets with graphic organizer and multiple intelligences under the information processing steps.

The Effects of the Robot Based Instruction on the Learning Attitude in Elementary School (로봇활용수업이 초등학생의 학습태도에 미치는 효과)

  • This paper is to explore the effects of Robot Based Instruction(RBI) on the learning attitude of elementary school students. According to this research, researcher found out that there is significant improvement in learning attitude score after RBI was applied. The result of verification on the learning attitude is difference by sex showed that male students' learning attitude score is more high better than another group. In particular, it showed that there is more significant improvement in science art discretionary activities subjects. The above-mentioned results are based on as follows two reasons. First, RBI is efficient to improve students' internal motivation and ownership about tasks, and that is related to environment of learning and instruction focused on authentic task and practice. Second, educational advantages of robot media was reflected appropriately in RBI, also appropriate instructional environment for RBI was supported.

  • This paper is to explore the effects of Robot Based Instruction(RBI) on improving immersion learning. According to our research, we found out that there is significant improvement in learning immersion and there's 9 sub-factors score after RBI was applied. Also from the result that there is no significant difference between male and female students in learning immersion score, we can found that RBI can improve the learning immersion of students regardless of the learner's sex. The result of verification on the learning immersion is difference by subjects showed that there is significant improvement only in korean, science, art subject among 7 subjects. The above-mentioned results are based on as follows two reasons.   • This study reports a case where some university libraries played a major role in opening and educating information literacy Instruction as a general liberal arts course. The librarian of the university library, who was also the speaker of this study, participated in the overall operation, including the conducting of two classes lectures during the second semester as a professor. It also analyzed a survey of 43 students from 27 departments in the first semester of 2019 and 44 from 25 departments in the second semester to assess the pre- and post-education effects on the courses. As a result, statistically significant values were obtained in both semesters. This study, which aimed at providing materials for librarians at university libraries raises the need for liberal arts education that integrates information and media literacy, is expected to provide various implications for improving information literacy instruction programs in the future.
