중학교 과학에서 탐구자료 활용 수업의 효과 (The Effects of Inquiry Instruction Utilizing Materials in Middle School Science)

  • The purpose for this study is to check if research activities can make positive effects on inquiry instruction utilizing materials when compared to traditional instruction utilizing the textbook. The effects of the class should be measured both in cognitive domain and in affective domain. The cognitive domain was measured by the change in achievements in learning science, and the affective domain was measured by the change in learning attitudes of science. The assumptions to be verified in this study were as follows. First, achievements in learning science are higher in the learner oriented inquiry instruction utilizing materials than in the learner oriented traditional instruction utilizing the textbook. Second, learning attitudes of science are higher in the learner oriented inquiry instruction utilizing materials than in the learner oriented traditional instruction utilizing the textbook.The results of the research are as follows. In the cognitive domain, achievements in learning science showed significant change(p=.045) measured by verifying the score for the difference among the averages for each sub-scale, in 5% of meaningful probability, and were higher in the inquiry instruction utilizing materials study. In the affective domain, learning attitudes of science showed significant change(p=.019) measured by verifying the score for the difference among the averages for each sub-scale, in 5% of meaningful probability, and were higher in the inquiry instruction utilizing materials study. In learning attitudes of science, 2 items(self-conception of science, attitudes of learning science) out of 3 items(self-conception of science, attitudes of learning science, learning habits of science) showed significant changes (p=.045, p=.001). But the difference(learning-habits of science) was not significant(p=.914).

병렬 컴퓨팅 시스템에서 LLVM 응용 연구 (Study on LLVM application in Parallel Computing System)

  • 다양한 병렬 컴퓨팅 시스템을 지원하기 위해서는 LLVM IR을 벡터/행렬을 보다 효과적으로 지원할 수 있도록 확장하는 것과 LLVM IR을 machine code로 바꾸어 주는 부분을 새로운 알고리즘으로 설계하여 구현하면 된다. IR 예제에서 보았듯이 기본적으로 RISC 명령어로 구성되어 있기 때문에 RISC 명령어 생성은 자연스럽게 생성되며, 벡터 또한 현재 지원가능한데 행렬 명령어는 지원되지 못하고 있다. 벡터/행렬을 보다 강력하게 지원하기 위한 새로운 IR 구조, 명령어 생성 알고리즘 및 관련 부분의 확장이 필요하다. 이를 위해 LLVM IR의 각 명령어를 (벡터/행렬을 위한) target architecture의 적당한 명령어로 mapping을 해주는 부분 (instruction selection 알고리즘)이 중요하다. LLVM IR 명령어의 의미를 파악하고, target architecture의 각 명령어 의미와 syntax를 비교하여, 패턴이 일치하는 명령어를 선택하여 mapping을 효율적으로 해줘야 한다.

실천적 문제 중심 가정과 수업에 대한 교사의 인식과 실행에 관한 연구 (A study on Teacher Perception and Classroom Practice of Practical Problem-Focused Home Economics Instruction)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 중학교 가정과교사들의 실천적 문제 중심 수업에 대한 인식과 실태, 실천적 문제 중심 수업 실행의 활성화 방안을 알아보는 데 있다. 이러한 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 전국에서 중학교에서 가정교과를 가르친 경험이 있는 교사 150명의 설문지 응답과 중학교 가정과교사 6인을 대상으로 한 면담 내용을 분석하였으며, SPSS/Win(Ver 10.1) 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, ANOVA, T-test, 상관관계를 산출하였다. 첫째, 중학교 가정과교사는 가정교과의 목적에 대해서 대부분이 실천적 문제 해결 능력을 키우는 것으로 응답하였다. 대부분의 가정과교사가 실천적 문제 중심 수업이 필요하다고 인식하고 있으나 실행 정도는 낮았으며 실천적 문제 중심 수업의 필요성 인식과 실행 정도에 상관관계가 없어서 가정과교사의 실천적 문제 중심 수업에 대한 인식과 실행의 부조화가 있음을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 교사의 특성에 따른 실천적 문제 중심 수업의 필요성 인식과 실행 정도를 알아본 결과, 교사의 특성에 따라 실천적 문제 중심 수업의 필요성 인식이 유의하게 차이나지 않았으며, 실천적 문제 중심 수업의 실행 정도의 경우 교사의 교직경력, 발령교과에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 직업 만족도에 대하여 실천적 문제 중심 수업의 필요성 인식과 실행 정도가 정적으로 유의한 상관관계가 있었으며 실천적 수업의 필요성 인식보다 실행 정도와의 상관관계가 더 컸다. 이로서 실천적 문제 중심 수업은 선행연구에서 밝힌 학생을 대상으로 한 효과검증 뿐 아니라 교사의 직업만족에도 관련이 있는 것을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 동료교사와 자료 및 정보공유가 실천적 문제 중심 수업 실행을 촉진하는 요인이며, 수업시수나 시간 부족과 실천적 문제 중심 수업에 대한 이해 부족이 실천적 문제 중심 수업 실행을 저해하는 요인으로 나타났다. 실천적 문제 중심 수업 실행을 활성화하기 위한 방안으로 관련 교수 학습 과정안과 같은 학습 자료의 지원에 대한 요구가 높았으며, 수업시수의 확보, 이 수업의 밑바탕에 깔린 가정교과철학관련 연수, 이 수업을 이해하고 실천할 수 있게 하는 장기간의 교사 연수를 필요로 했다.

Phonological Awareness Integrated Instruction: The Effect of Analogies/Anagrams on Vocabulary Acquisition Scores

  • Research studies have shown that phonological awareness focused analogies and anagrams can be used as an effective game-based teaching instruction. However, previous studies used analogies and anagrams as separate instructional tools, especially in EFL-related situations. There has been no vocabulary learning in analogies/anagrams instruction provided, nor has there been usage of an integrated workbook for 'vocabulary learning and analogies/anagrams'. This study examined the effect on learners' vocabulary acquisition scores when a truly phonological awareness integrated 'analogies/anagrams and vocabulary learning' workbook was used as an instructional practice workbook. The results show that the phonological awareness integrated instruction significantly increased learners' vocabulary acquisition scores among 40 college students with minimal or basic level of English proficiency.

Covert Channel Based on Instruction Gadgets in Smart Sensing Devices

  • In this paper, we design a covert channel based on instruction gadgets in smart sensing devices. Unlike the existing convert channels that usually utilize diverse physical characteristics or user behaviors or sensory data of smart sensing devices, we show that instruction gadgets could be exploited for covert channel establishment in smart sensing devices. In our devised covert channels, trojan smart sensing devices exchange attack packets in such a way that they encode an attack bit in attack packet to a series of addresses of instruction gadgets and decode an attack bit from a series of addresses of instruction gadgets.

정렬 프로그래밍 교육을 위한 시각화 도구의 개발 (Development of Visualization Tool for Sorting Programming Instruction)

  • 자료구조 및 알고리즘 분야는 컴퓨터 프로그래밍 교육의 기반이 되는 과목이다. 그러나 교육방법이 헌재의 추세인 비주얼 프로그래밍과 윈도우 프로그래밍 방법을 따라가지 못하여 학생들의 흥미를 유발하지 못하고 있다. 정렬 프로그래밍도 다른 자료 구조와 상황은 마찬가지이다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 교육자가 효과적으로 정렬 알고리즘을 교육할 수 있는 VTSPI (Visualization Tool for Sorting Programming Instruction)를 개발하였다. 뿐만 아니라 VTSPI는 비주얼 프로그래밍에 기반을 둔 소프트웨어 컴포넌트이기 때문에 학생들이 쉽게 프로그래밍할 수 있고, 자신의 프로그램을 이해할 수 있고, 디버깅을 쉽게 할 수 있게 해준다.

예비 초등 교사의 좋은 수학 수업에 대한 인식 (Prospective Elementary School Teachers' Conception on Good Mathematics Instruction)

  • Prospective teachers need to have an opportunity to critically examine their initial perception with regard to effective mathematics instruction during the teacher education period. This study analyzed the perception in relation to good mathematics instruction by a total of 265 prospective teachers from four institutes for elementary teacher education using a survey. The results of this study showed that the pre-service teachers regarded learner, teaching and learning method, selection of content, and construction of curriculum as important for high-quality mathematics instruction. However, they revealed relatively low levels of agreement against the importance of instructional materials, classroom environment and atmosphere, and assessment. On the basis of teachers' perception on each element of effective mathematics instruction, this paper raises issues for discussion and includes some implications for teacher education.

공업계 고등학교에서의 문제해결식 실기수업 모형 (A model of problem solving instruction for improving practical skill-competence in technical high school)

  • The purpose of this study was to development a model of problem solving instruction for improving practical skill-competence in technical high school. For the study, various literature researches were reviewed intensively about problem solving process, laboratory instruction's approaches and learning principals. The problem solving instruction process was composed with identifying problems, generating alternative solutions, investigation and research, choosing a solution, acting on a plan, modeling of problem solving, testing and evaluating, redesigning and improving. The skills schema combines a four domain of skilled activity, that is, cognitive skills, psychomotor skills, reactive skills and interactive skills. The problem solving instruction was composed with five major learning systems-emotional, social, cognitive, physical, and reflective-that can be used extensively as generic lesson plashing. The teacher serves as a coach or guide for student learning. As a facilitator, the teacher challenges, questions, and stimulates the students in their thinking, problem solving and self-directed study. In this process, students represent problem with think aloud, assume responsibility for their learning and move from teacher-centered to student-centered education.

RISC 프로세서 On-Chip Cache의 설계 (Design of A On-Chip Caches for RISC Processors)

  • This paper proposes on-chip instruction and data cache memories on RISC reduced instruction set computer) architecture which supports fast instruction fetch and data read/write, and enables RISC processor under research to obtain high performance. In the execution of HLL(high level language) programs, heavily used local scalar variables are stored in large register file, but arrays, structures, and global scalar variables are difficult for compiler to allocate registers. These problems can be solved by on-chip Instruction/Data cache. And each cycle of instruction fetch, pad delay causes the lowering of the processors's performance. Cache memories are designed in CMOS technology and SRAM(static-RAM), that saves layout area and power dissipation, is used for instruction and data storage. To speed up and support RISC processor's piplined architecture efficiently, hardwired logic technology is used overall circuits i cache blocks. The schematic capture and timing simulation of proposed cache memorises are performed on Apollo DN4000 workstation using Mentor Graphics CAD tools.

High Performance Implementation of SGCM on High-End IoT Devices

  • In this paper, we introduce novel techniques to improve the high performance of AE functions on modern high-end IoT platforms (ARM-NEON), which support SIMD and cryptography instruction sets. For the Sophie Germain Counter Mode of operation (SGCM), counter modes of encryption and prime field multiplication are required. We chose the Montgomery multiplication for modular multiplication. We perform Montgomery multiplication in a parallel way by exploiting both the ARM and NEON instruction sets. Specifically, the NEON instruction performed 128-bit integer multiplication and the ARM instruction performed Montgomery reduction, simultaneously. This approach hides the latency for ARM in the NEON instruction set. For a high-speed counter mode of encryptions for both AE functions, we introduced two-level computations. When the tasks were large volume, we switched to the NEON instruction to execute the encryption operations. Otherwise, we performed the encryptions on the ARM module.
